I PM'ed citygirl2, but I used her old name 'citygirl' on accident. I don't think she will get the PM, so is there anyway of correcting this? Or was all that writing a total waste of time?:(

another questionMOON 05-13-2004, 08:01 PM I PM'ed citygirl2, but I used her old name 'citygirl' on accident. I don't think she will get the PM, so is there anyway of correcting this? Or was all that writing a total waste of time?:( Dan_Shues 05-13-2004, 08:10 PM It depends, Moon... When you wrote the PM and sent it, down at the bottom of the PM, did you uncheck the "Save a copy" check box? If you did uncheck it, unfortunately, thier's nothing that can be done... However, if you left it checked....the PM might still be around... Go to your PM box and see where it says, "Jump to Folder"? Click on down arrow and choose "Sent Items"...look for the message you sent and see if it's there. If it is, access it and copy and paste that puppy! If it's not thier (or if you unchecked that box) unfortunately, thier's nothing that can be done. What I do suggest, is to first type your PM's in like notepad (and occasionally save that text file)...so that you have a copy of the msg, in case you accidently close your PM box....or if you go to send the message and the user's box is full. I hope that helps... If you have any questions, let me know... ~Dan MOON 05-13-2004, 09:14 PM hey dan! I'm an idiot!! I was trying to access the message from the "message tracking" page. Also, using notepad is a fabulous idea! Thanks! BTW, my computer is acting funny. As I am typing, it kind of freezes up on me, but only for a second. I am not a computer prson at all, so I don't know how better to explain what is happening. Any ideas what the problem might be? Dan_Shues 05-13-2004, 09:29 PM No problem! *smiles* And no, you're not stupid at all! As for your other problem... There could be a multitude of reasons for this stuttering it seems to be having. One thing right off the bat....do you have alot things open when this happens? If you do...it could be that you are running out of memory. (This is also dependent upon how much memory you have, of course.) If you don't have alot of system memory, and have alot of things open/running...it could cause your computer to become sluggish... Another thing...have you defragmented your hard drive lately? If you haven't, I would do so. One last thing....do you have a spyware/adware remover on your system? If you don't, I would suggest downloading one, getting all the latest updates for it using it's auto update feature and then scanning your system for spyware... Two good one's, if you don't have any installed, can be found at either: http://www.lavasoft.de/ http://www.safer-networking.org/ I hope this helps... ~Dan |
