Greetings!
I just wanted to take quick moment to welcome everyone that pops in here.
I have just been given the duties of moderator here
and I couldn't be more pleased to have the opportunity to oversee this section.

I have been writing poetry and stories since I was 10 years old
and I also love to read.
Unfortunately, I don't get as much time as I would like to read these days- but I try to get some kind of reading in every day,
(even if it is just reading to my 8 year old son every evening).

I am presently working on a novel-
a fantasy that is set in medieval times and I hope to have to completed by early 2006. I'm about a third of the way done.
A lot of research had to be done and time is always against me-
but it is a passion of mine and I will finish!
Yeah!

I know we have some extremely talented writers here and I am hopeful that we can coax them into sharing their talent with us on a steady basis.
I also ask that those that come here to read the creative writings, to please take the time to comment on what you have read.
Thanks!

I would also like to get some discussions going on what you are reading!
I'll be starting a book list where Ageless members can list
books that they feel are worth endorsing to others for good reading.
We could even get some book reviews going-
let us know what you think about the books that you
have read!

The key is being attentive here and help in keeping the creative flow active!!

I'll do my best and I hope you all will too!!

Thanks for reading and enjoy your time here.

Congratulations Sage!
I hope that this section of the forum gets going.
I am a reader too, and I wish I had more people to discuss books with! I am looking forward to the list and reading everyone's input.
Keep us posted on the progress of your book!

Yes, Congratulations Sage :D You got soem great new threads here!

I also ask that those that come here to read the creative writings, to please take the time to comment on what you have read.

I was wondering if you could clarify something for me, when you say comment what sort of thing do you mean?

I know that some sites prefer all comments on members work to be postive only, to avoid the sort of hurt that can arise. I myself would prefer honest (but preferrably constructive ;)) criticism should I post any of my poems. :)

Do you have a policy or any thoughts on this?

Good point Keris!
I had thought of the same thing when I first posted
that it would be nice if members commented on the poetry.
I just didn't know what to ask in regard to that.

I am in many writing forums and some of the critiques
can be brutal!
I do not want that here.
But at the same time, I don't want to ask that everyone
just add candy coated comments to keep this
section a peaceful place.

I was thinking that I might adopt the "If you don't have
anything nice to say, don't say anything" system.

I do know that most poets like to have some kind
of acknowledgment that their poetry is being read.
If no one responds, they usually quit posting their work.
I want to change that.

As for me-
if I think a poem is real, real bad, I will try to find something
positive to remark about it.
We are not a strict writing forum here and I don't think
we need to pick apart each other's work to the point that
we insult anyone.

I guess with that, I am saying that we should try to keep
our comments as positive as we can.
I will say though, that if you see where a write could
be helped by a couple little changes, feel free to suggest
these things- but keep it polite in how you suggest it.

Thanks!
