Writer's Cramp - (Writing advice and chat)

This section will be for all writers to come and chat about all
aspects of writing.

Share with us what you are working on-
poetry, novels, children's stories or maybe just a speech.

Ask questions and advise other writers in regard to writing.

This is where we can explore the ups and downs
of writing and gain information from one another as
we pen off our heart's desire!!

At school I went to a writer's hour thingy, and it was really a lot of fun. I've had a lot of writer's block lately and i thought it would help.
It didn't, really, but one of the prompts came out with something pretty good.
The prompt was : open a poetry book, read a few random poems, and take your favorite line out of each. Start writing something based on this- it'll usually come out with nothing to do with the original line, but it can really help things get started.

I like that idea Danika-
I'll have to remember that one!

When I am blocked or can't get a good creative flow
going, I edit.
Right now I am kinda going through a "creative lazy spell" with
my novel, so I just get to editing and that usually kicks in
some creativity.

If I don't have anything current to edit-
then I drag out some old poetry that I started,
(but didn't finish), and start playing around with that.
That gives me a boost in writing too.
