Maria 06-03-2004, 05:55 PM Jason and I are looking for simple online games, do you have any suggestions?
Nothing too long because we have to flirt, too, just something light...
Kalri 06-03-2004, 05:58 PM You could play an on-line fantasy game like Everquest. I spent the last year doing some major flirting while playing that game. ;)
It's simple to play too.
K
Maria 06-03-2004, 06:00 PM I'll look for it! Thanks kalri! We spent the evening looking for games but didn't know where to start with!
Genevieve 06-03-2004, 06:26 PM If you have Yahoo messenger, there are games you can play through there. There's also Doodle, checkers, chess, and other interactive IMvironments. Yahoo Pool can be fun too!
RyanWasley 06-11-2004, 08:25 PM Online pool is good, and you can play and flirt at the same time, highly recomend it.:)
Genevieve 06-11-2004, 08:28 PM This is funny! Online Pool can actually be quite erotic. I mean.. come on.. any game that has sticks and balls can conjure up quite the sexual inuendo for those of us whose minds are sometimes in the gutter! ;)
Goldenhawke 06-11-2004, 08:56 PM Relevant game sites are Yahoo (http://games.yahoo.com) and MSN (http://zone.msn.com) . I've only used Yahoo (haven't tried the MSN one yet), and it's enjoyable.
[Edit: Tried MSN Zone. Don't really like it. Awkward interface that tries to be too realistic of a 'card table' to the detriment of actually being able to play the game.]
If you two prefer to blow each other up, you could also try any of the innumerable FPSes out there. Probably good for arguments.

Yes, and maybe they can play strip pool with a webcam. Each game of pool has an article of clothing wagered. :D
I wouldn't suggest Everquest. Great game but say good bye to your social life if you have an addictive personality. :)

Yes thats why they call Everquest "EverCrack "!!!!
No offense to anyone who plays it ofcourse.....
And baby, I didnt know you had a webcam!!! :p
Kalri 06-12-2004, 10:21 AM I play everquest once or twice a week for 2 hours a night, but I have heard that people can get carried away with it. I used to play it more until Phil started working nights. Now the attraction (to chat and flirt with him) is gone, so I only play on his nights off.
I'm pretty sure those who get addicted to any on line game are younger, maybe in their late teens or early 20's, people with less responsibilities than us old folks. ;) Or as Aloysius said, those with addictive personalities.
I probably quality as having an addictive personality since I can't seem to get enough of Phil. I can't wait till he moves here. Just 5 more weeks from today!!!!
K
Maria 06-12-2004, 06:00 PM I didn't understand that Everquest thing, if I have just my computer can I play it or do I have to have some software?
Jason and I play checkers often, but his father's side is all Russian, so you see, I have only won once... and I think it was an accident! :(
I would like to play something else. :(
1love 06-13-2004, 12:23 AM Hey Maria~
You should go to pogo.com. They have lots of fun games. I used to play spades, dominoes, backgammon and others. Dominoes would be a good one for flirting! Try it! :D
xoxo
Maria 06-14-2004, 08:40 PM People, a nice soul sent me this link that you can try free of charge for one month. It's addicting!
www.there.com

Go to Fileplanet, either join for no wait or get in line and download the free trial, I can help you find the trial if you cant navigate the site well.
www.fileplanet.com
You get 7 day free trial.
Personally I love this game but its not where I met my sweety, I met him in a text based roleplay game called Dragonrealms.
This game is visual so you need a decent computer but my old Pentium 3 500mhz with 768 RAM and 40gig HD (that made a big diff getting the faster HD) ran it just fine, my newer Dell of course runs it much better, but you can play it on a Pentium 3 . Celeron wont do it though.
The game is fun. I dont know about flirting but I do know I get approached at times, but I am involved so of course I shy away from it .
There are many servers. Most are RVR, or Realm vs. Realm. This means basically that your world, either Midgard, Albion or Hibernia will eventually when your character is around 30-50th level fight each other for control of certain artifacts. Until those levels however the player vs. environment (hunting critters) is great.
The one I play on is Gaheris and its just straight PVE, no realm vs. realm and you can teleport to all 3 of the worlds, its fun.
Also there is a PVP (player vs player) server that is quite fun but Id suggest do that after you know the game well.
If you want a darker world go for Midgard or Albion once you get in, if you want a more "elven" world, go for Hibernia.
You can own a house, decorate it etc. You will need money to do that kind of thing, personally I bought my money (lol) for like 33 bucks I got enough to buy a house, decorate it and have tons left over. So fuN!!!
If you need any help PM me and I will try to help you get started.
Its a good game. I like it MUCH better than Everquest or Asherons Call. I am not addicted to it but its REAL fun and Im sure that some are.
Heather
ps for guys my boyfriend likes Planetside when hes not playing Dark Age of Camelot with me. Planetside is all about strategy and tanks and stuff.

Wow. I went to that page and just the warnings alone were enough to send me scurrying off. Haha.. just how bad is it?

LOL, Marcy.. she must have kids! I find myself talking like that sometimes to adults.. haha.. I have to catch myself.
"What did you think of that movie?"
"Oh, it was yucky.. Uh, I mean.. " LOL
I have to remind myself that I'm college educated over here!

Actually all of the warnings are true but not an every day occurance. As a newbie none of those bad things can happen to you and you can stay on newbie status for at least 90 days, or you can drop newbie status once your comfortable with game play. And the only thing about it that I really don't like is the playable screen is small. But they are working on a full screen before final release. I think the graphics are really awesome and the avi's are very much like the sim's avi's except a bit more detailed ;)
The first time I went in I stayed for like 15 mins and left because I had no idea what I was supposed to do..but went back with a friend and we figured it out and I love it now!;)
marcy 06-27-2004, 10:16 AM Robbi check your PM... wanted to ask you a question, but then thought maybe I would be "outing" you and thought better of it!
:D
Phillippides 06-28-2004, 03:00 PM Personally, Bubbleee and I played pool at yahoo sometimes, and it's not a bad game. It can be fairly easy since often the game shows you a line in the direction the cue ball and the ball it hits are going to go. Pretty nice, esp. for a neophyte like me.
brokenfairy2573 07-09-2004, 09:54 PM literati on yahoo....u can flirt by making flirty words
silverlasha 07-28-2004, 02:49 PM I went to :
www.sfbc.com
today and they have a games place for members. I don't think it costs anything to join. and i played a number of their games that I liked. One caught me and I spent longer there than intended. It was a puzzle game and i don't remember the name but it had shapes you had to match up with.
Gee, I'm a video game enthusiast, so I wish I could add something to this thread. Unfortunately, most of the online games I've played are shoot 'em up games like Battlefield 1942 and Ghost Recon, which probably doesn't appeal to many here. I've also played Civilization III, which is a good military/political strategy game, if you're into that kind of thing.
larasteele 07-30-2004, 12:51 PM Funny you should ask....
My best friend told me about a game she was playing, and I had to go check it out because our tastes are similar.
Note: I am not a huge fan of video/computer games. Most of them bore me. The reason for this is reverse logic--I'm not very coordinated with the hand-eye control that most Playstation and such games call for, therefore I am no good at them, therefore am bored because dying/losing all the time is no fun.
Imagine my surprise at finding an online game that is free (you CAN upgrade but most people don't; the free stuff is very comprehensive and interesting.) First, you get to make a character EXACTLY the way you want to--there are different heads, hair, outfits, skin tones, etc. Then, even though you start out very low in levels, you are perfectly safe: you don't get attacked randomly, YOU do all the attacking, so if fighting isn't your thing, there are plenty of other things you can do. Just be sure to stay on the paths maked on the newcomer map--wander off at your peril--oh, and there are some wicked druids near one of the towns. But its fairly obvious that they are dangerous. TONS of people are playing all the time; many of them are very generous to "newbies" and give you items that will help you. Unfortunately, the average player seems to be a male in his early to mid-teens but I've ran across a few adults.
Anyway: there is a chat feature, along with private messaging; there are plenty of areas for you to "level up" in, from cooking to fishing to archery, mining, etc. All these things help you to make money--for example, it costs nothing to mine, you then go forge some armor, and sell it! Then use the money to buy more stuff--useful or decorative. I have an impressive collection of jewelry!
There are quests for beginners and experts alike as well.
I've been spending FAR too much time there lately, but hey, it's fun and painless for a non-video game fan! I find it more fun when my friend or my guy is playing too, but solo is entertaining as well.
Oh, and I should add--there is no software to download; every time you play, you reconect to the game server. Safe and secure!

I looooove Civ! But I'm not all that great at it. I can munch everyone on Prince level but I die horribly on Emperor. And I almost never bother with the moonshot if I can just take over the planet, even if that does give me a lower score.
Have you played Alpha Centauri? I found the pace on the slow side but I enjoyed it. And the vidclips and quotes are cool.
I like Starcraft as well... go Protoss! :)

I have the same problem, my hand eye co-ordination is virtually none existent, my sight limitations mean that it takes me far too long to work out where things r in the first place to ever react fast enough :( .......
So I am gonna go check out Runescape :D Thank u Larasteele for the link!
silverlasha 07-31-2004, 01:00 PM lara: I tried runescape and I couldn't get out of the room in the tutorial. It kept telling me to go talk to the guide, and I did and he would tel me to go out the door, and i tried and it would start all over again? It looked interesting, But I must have been doing something wrong.
larasteele 07-31-2004, 01:18 PM Silverlasha: The tutorial is a pain in the butt--the game is much more fun. Unfortunately, you can't get to the game without completing the tutorial. My guy had a few problems with it too.
The tutorial has numerous parts: where are you when you get stuck? What activity were you learning? If I know that I can probably help out--I got my guy unstuck, and I had no problems with the tutorial myself.
Shewolf--just to let you know, you should love how the game works. I had screen issues--the game was very dark in places, and often I couldn't see what I was clicking. But everything has a pull-down menu when you right click, so if you get the pointer even close to where you need it to be, you can pull down the menu and choose. Oh--and the screen darkness problem I had--there is a feature in the game settings themselves where you can make your screen extra bright. Suddenly, I COULD see where I was going and what I was doing!
Hope more people get interested!
silverlasha 08-01-2004, 03:56 PM lara: I was standing in the room. Then i talked to the guide, then it said go out the door. I sttod in the door and other people went thru me and the door was shut to me. I left clicked got the menu and clicked on open door, when i did that, the other menu came back and told me to talk to the guide. I continued following directions. But i couldn't even "follow" anyone out the door.
DarkAngel1962 08-01-2004, 05:26 PM Just wanted to add my comments about Sociolotron :). Actually that is the game where my BF and I met. We actually met in their IRC channel they have for support but we ended up playing together in the game for awhile. The game does have a pretty good "simulated sex" engine but the game is much more than that. You can get raped, murdered, have abortions, get pregnant, summon demons and kill poor NPC's for skills and money (non player characters) There is quite a bit of BDSM and People that RP Dominance/Submissiveness.
I guess the point is that you have to have a pretty open mind before you play this game. It's not for anyone that might have problems with any of the above.
Even though my sweetie and I met there I wouldn't advocate this game for people who are just looking for a bit of entertainment while passing the time online with their loved ones. Neither my sweetie or I play this game anymore as it has just gotten pretty boring and what started out as a RPing game has really turned into a bunch of people with strange fetishs wanting to act them out online (only my opinion, LOL)
silverlasha 08-01-2004, 09:55 PM Lara, I went back and actually got thru the tutorial, I think. I went thru the survival, combat and baking process. I didn't know what to do next, but I am sure i will get instructions next time I go back.
Thanks
