it's quite easy go to a site like:

there will be different catagories on the left.

click on of those then chose a face you find interesting.

then look look for a html code that will pop copy that code.

then paste it onto here then that should be it.


then VOILA you have a smiley:D .

And Trish, now that I've got my thread, I feel so good, you are right!!

I have one more hint. There are sites where the smilie address won't include the [img] part of it, so when you get an address that you paste here and it doesn't have those, you have to click on the vBCode part of the post (there above the gray window where you write) and click on IMG. A little windown will open and you paste the smilie address there, then click ok. The whole thing will appear on the post window. When you do preview reply you can confirm if your smilie is there.

Some smilies have no apparent address, but you just have to right click on them and go to Properties. There you will have to copy their addresses and then do the thing here in the post.

Trish, if it has no address, right click on the gif or smilie and go to properties. There you will see the url address. Copy it. Come to your post and click on IMG (there where you find colour, size, bold, there's also img) paste the address and click OK.
Then see the preview, because some gifs don't work, are broken, or can't be copied. But most are okay!

Trish, if I understand well, when we use a gif here, there's a connection that is established with the site where the gif comes from, and the gif will show here. It's just "borrowed" from the original site that hosts it. So if that site is down, or the gif has been removed, for example, the gifs won't show. That's why some gifs are okay in the beginning, but if you go back to see them later on, they are not showing.

As your computer is not an internet site, it doesn't work as a host for gifs.

Not sure if anyone mentioned this...

Uploading to Tripod or Angelfire or Geocities to post a graphic here is just about useless.

None of them will allow hotlinking. If you upload a graphic to tripod, it can only be used on a tripod page I believe, otherwise you get pretty x's...

The exception is Geocities...which has a work around, a bunch of us found out. To do Geocities, simply upload your picture as normal. However, once you...go back and rename the picture in your file manager. When you rename it...add an extention of: .txt

Then, you can use it just about anyplace. Just simply add the address to the standard image tag or code.
