I'll keep this simple, I am 18 and have been seeing a 24y/o for nearly 2 months now, Only last week I finally introduced her to my parents who at first accepted that shes older. But now my parents, mum in particular has quite a concern.

I like this girl very much as she likes me too, and we are progressing quite well, I can see that It is gonna work.

My mum thinks it isnt right to be seeing someone older and says that one day I'll get hurt. I understand her concern and that she cares for me, but I am very happy to be with someone right now.

What should I do and what could I say to my parents so they will not be too concerned?

Tell your mum that getting hurt, regardless of any woman's age, can happen to you and anybody!

Ask your mum how many times she's been hurt by b/fs, were they same age, older/younger. She should know the answer readily enough.

Remind her the hurt and pain are part of living and growing. If we don't experience pain we won't appreciate the good love when we have it.

Hi David and welcome to ageless. Joe and Paris have said it all.

I bet that once she gets to know her, and sees how happy you are with her, that she will soon feel better about the fact that she is older than you. Besides, six years is not such a big deal.
