This lotion is great!!

I dont know how many of you OW have tried this, but I did and it is a wonderful product. It is called stri-vectin. It is a stretch mark lotion, which in itself does wonders, but you also use it for your face.

Its pricey, 75.00 for the small tube and 135.00 for the large, but let me tell you. I have not seen the glow on my face like I do now since I was in my twenties. Not only did it reduce my lines, it diminished my pores and made my face look overall beautiful.

For those who are considering botox or anything like that, try this first. I know first hand that it works. You have to use it twice a day religously, and it will last approximately four months for the small bottle. I have had more comments on my skin lately that I know for a fact it is working.

Enjoy.

I had read about it in that Chit Chat thread by Betzguido, Product Junkie, and I am trying it. Honestly I don't see so much difference, but I don't use everyday... maybe I should stick to it only. I was not sure if it's a good moisturizer, too, and I thought I should alternate with the one I always use.

I recently saw, on a local news show, that Stri-vectin actually gave the users MORE wrinkles.

They had several people for their experiment, each was given a different product to test. Their wrinkles were counted before the experiement began and then again after.
The folks who used Stri-vectin showed more wrinkles.
The lotion that showed a decrease...LUBRIDERM!!!

Of course, it was such a small sample that you can't make any conclusions based on it. But I still thought it was interesting!

Well I used it religously two times a day until it ran out, and I have seen a considerable difference in my skin. The key is using it twice per day every day.

It may be that some skin types dont take well to it, but for me it worked, and alot of people have told me so. I am 36 (next week) and I have been told I look 25!!! Now thats exciting to me!!

I just thought I would share with yall in case some of you were reluctant to spend that much money. I was, but thought heck if it doesnt work, Ive learned a valuable lesson.

I am sorry but I had to chuckle.... 36 often does look like 25!!!! NOW if a 55 looked like 25 that would be a different story! I think Peachy uses it and loves it, but I tired it and it did nothing for me.... so it may work for some, but not for others...just like anything else.

PS. To be honest, I am not sure I would want to look 25 again! That was not my best year!

Well to be quite honest with you, most 36 year olds look 55 to me because they have spent way too much time in the sun. I met a lady one time that told me her birthday was the same as mine and I just about passed out when she told me that. I swear she must have had a really rough life, or did not take care of herself that well.

I grew up watching my Mother using Clinique makeup products, and only ivory soap, doing her facial yoga massages and such, so I learned at a young age to take care of your skin and stay out of the sun.

I will try and get a digital picture up of myself before I started using this stuff and after to show you what I mean.

Heck girl, I dont want to look 25 either I want to look 18, lol!!!

Raven,

Your welcome. Another tip is that the lady at the mall told me that you did not need to do it three times a day to see results, and for me I did see results only doing it twice per day.

I hope it works for you, Ive also noticed a considerable decrease in my pores.

The lady at the mall also showed me an age spot she had on her chest that she had been applying it to and it was almost gone.

From what I understand it also works on stretch marks, I was going to try that next on my butt and breasts, lol!!!

The OP is probably right about genes though, some people just have good skin.

Yes as a matter of fact I had a scar on my chin that is practically gone now. I really like this product as you can tell, lol!!!

I dont work for them either. Just wanted to point that out. I work on cars for a living. :D

There's actually a warning that you can't use it more than twice a day.

I think it's really about the genes too.

Both my parents were really young-looking for their ages, and my Mom didn't get too hung up on caring for her skin. She'd moisturize when her skin was feeling dry but that's about it. It's about all I do as well, and once I found out that most commercial skin creams use wood alcohol as a preservative, I never used them. I mean, helloooo?! Wood alcohol DRIES your skin! Where's the logic in that?

I studied aromatherapy for awhile and I invented my own skin cream that has over a dozen flower essences and other essential oils. No wood alcohol either -- I preserve it with Vitamin E. I just use it under my eyes whenever that area feels dry. It's mild enough that it doesn't hurt even when I get it in my eye by accident.

Other than that -- I don't do nothin'.

I think Janeane Garofalo as Abby Barnes really summed up my attitude about skin care in the movie The Truth About Cats & Dogs:

Cosmetics Saleslady: We also have this new face cream which neutralizes the free radicals that attack the skin. Let me ask you, what's your skin regime?

Dr. Abby Barnes: My regime? The regime from which the radicals are trying to get free? Are we selling face cream or staging a coup?

I've never thought about making my own lotions or creams but now that you mention it!! lol... I might be doing that.

Im definately going to start on the stretch mark issue soon though.

This skin cream sounds great..I dont have wrinkles but I think the texture of my skin isnt what it could be. Ive tried lots of stuff to try to keep it at least from getting worse!(Im almost 54)
HEY ANYBODY HAVE ANY PRODUCT OR METHOD OF RECOVERING FROM THE DARK PUFFINESS AROUND EYES WITHOUT A TIME MACHINE???? I HATE IT!!!
Ive tried teabags..(cant sit still for 20 min)
every cream with the word EYE in it.
sleeping on my back..
allergy eye drops..
and buying copious amounts of concealer (italian ones are the best...they invented black circles i think...heheh im ITALIAN)
TRYING NOT TO LOOK LIKE AN OVERTIRED RACCOON!!!

Raven, please give us an update on how the Strivectin is working for you. :)

Maria
07-26-2004, 10:16 AM
Katrina, I am not yet sure it was due to the Strivectin, which I don't use a lot, maybe once every two days, but I had some peeling right in the regions I used it more.

I stopped, used a very rich (emolient?) cream, and now restarted Strivectin without problems.

I do see some differences now! :)

Maybe the peeling is supposed to happen initially? But, you say now that it's working the way it's supposed to? Well, that's cool, Maria. I just know that when I met Peachy, her skin was absolutely radiant and smooth as can be and I want skin like that! I have also noticed that my coloration seems to be more uneven than it used to be. So, I want that to improve, too.

Now, I don't hardly have any wrinkles yet, but I've noticed more forming around my eyes the past few months and my neck is driving me crazy -- it's so saggy. yuck! So, I thought that if it really does firm up the skin, it'd be worth a try on my neck and maybe around my eyes, but I also don't want to end up with more wrinkles as someone alluded to as a potential long-term result from using it either.

You know, Katrina, there was no description of a peeling, that's what worried me. I really trust the instructions!

I was using it every night, so I thought, as this cream was initially created for other purposes, nothing guarantees me it's a good moisturizer. So I prefer to stay on the safe side and alternate it with a normal moisturizer (I use Clarins, sometimes Lancôme, it depends). It was not created especifically for the delicate skin of the face, so I would go carefully with it.

It would be nice to hear from Peachy, at what frequency she uses it. We can't forget my skin is probably a lot different from yours, I'm not so white and my skin is naturally more oily, it sounds as if I would be less sensitive to peeling, but voilà, it's not what happened.

For me decreasing the frequency was good. :)

HELLO AGAIN

I think there's alot to be said for skin care from the inside out...
I'm taking lots of vitamins like TIME RELEASE VITAMIN C
B-100. vitamin E and other things like DHEA AND Q10 CO ENZYME.
They seem to be helping alot.
Also has anybody seen the AD @http://www.stretchmarkrepair.com/
its another product ...a little cheaper and without formaldehyde..altho thats a really good preservative eh?:o

and about those neck crepes...
I noticed them first in my mid forties..just that little section mid neck..center.....and I got SO DEPRESSED!~
Till I was talking to a friend and noticed hers..I got this "member of my clan" feeling..

.(yea the TURKEY NECK CLAN wooohooo!!)

ps. been using PREP H on my puffy eyes with some success ..THANKS!!Im searching for the european one that has LIVE YEAST and is supposed to work better.

That does it for me. I think I'd like to give it a try. I just worry about whether it will have any long-term effects as someone else mentioned (ex. contributing to the wrinkles). I really don't have alot of wrinkles, but I do have a saggy neck. I hate it.

I'm glad to see that you're still around Darkestyet. I hadn't seen you posting in a while and was afraid you were gone.

Does this creme at Walgreens work on only puffiness? Or is it also good for the dark circles?

ravenglow

Hey guys, I have SUDDEN CHANGE UNDEREYE SERUM!!

Whiterose, it does nothing for the dark circles, its all about the puffiness!! Its like a clear liquid gel which you pat onto your under eye area.
When it dries, YES the under eye area is tighter and looks and feels better.

The one thing for me that I cant quiet master is the use of makeup with it.
I DO have dark circles, so I want to put a concealer on them to lighten them up.
With the Sudden Change stuff, once it gets wet or you put anything on top of it thats it.

For me, it disolves the product or something so the effects of tightening are gone, then the concealer doesnt absorb well because its mixed with the Sudden Change. Not a good look.

I think that if you intend to wear it without make-up and you want your under eye area tightented, its great...its a temporary lift.
OR maybe DarkestYet has played with the application and has some better tips!! I only tried it once or twice before tossing it at the back of my makeup case.
It works great for tightening but I need something to cover my purple blue/gray areas LOL :D

Hey Raven, thanks for the info and the link! I was reading that walgreens website and it says to mix two drops of serum with two drops of makeup. Were you trying that when you applied your makeup?

HI WHITEROSE! AND EVERYONE

THE EYESERUM...WELL ITS BASICALLY GLORIFIED, CONCENTRATED AND CHEMICALIZED ...EGGWHITE..
(ALBUMIN.).
AND IT DOES SEEM TO HELP WITH THE DARKNESS BUT NOT AS MUCH AS CLARITIN HELPS..ALLERGY IS A BIG CAUSE OF THE DARKNESS EVEN WITHOUT OTHER SYMPTOMS...

ALSO I USE AN OIL BASE COVER STICK..IT DOESNT SEEM TO DISTURB THE EYESERUM VERY MUCH WHEN I PUT IT OVER IT..JUST A LITTLE..I USE ONE OF THOSE TRIANGULAR WHITE SPONGES..

HERES THE BEST DISCOVERY I MADE.
PUT IT ON BEFORE YOU GO TO SLEEP...IT KEEPS THEM FROM GETTING AS PUFFY TO BEGIN WITH!!

BUT THE BEST CURE FOR PUFFINESS I THINK IS NOT CRYING BEFORE I GO TO SLEEP...NOT MUCH HOPE OF LOSING THAT TILL MY SWEETHEART IS HERE BESIDE ME....((
