Paris, the City of Lovers

Paris has always been very high on my list of places to visit - maybe just behind Scotland. So . . .what better way to spend my birthday this year than by joining my girlfriend, the beautiful and always amazing Maria (affectionately known as MariaLux in a former posting-life) in the City of Lovers.

I'll be flying out of Boston's Logan airport (a center of transit I seem to know quite well, these days) in just over forty-eight hours to meet minha flor for ten days of romance, sex, passion, love . . . did I mention sex? ;) I haven't been able to touch, kiss, or hold my darling in two and a half months and we are both so happy at how strong we have been through countless hours of webcamming, telephoning, and dreaming. That doesn't mean we plan on continuing this LDR crap any longer than we have to (hehe), it just means that our patience has paid off. I can't think of a more incredible way to celebrate and spend my birthday than with the most beautiful gift in a beautiful country. Je t'aime, Maria. I'll see you soon.

Jason,
The Mightiest of All Reds
Soon To Be Sipping Red Wine in Loire

P.S. Looks like the secret is out. ;)

I want to go back!

Theo and I have talked about making Paris our honeymoon spot....to visit the places we didn't realize we wanted to go to until our last day....and it would be nice to go in the Spring or Summer, instead of at the end of winter in March (though the only day of rain we had while there was on the last last day -- a day we shouldn't have been there anyway because we missed our flight!)

Maria, I remember your face that night we had fondue...there was a certain sadness, you missed your Jason. Perhaps you two could visit the same fondue place! (I'm hungry now!)

Wow, I envy you -- enjoy your wonderful visit! Soon it will be, well, FOREVER!

xoxoyoutwo - I'm so happy for you!

:D Kerri (35) who deeply loves and adores Theo (24)

Oh Kerri, you are a genius!! Of course I have to go to that place, I just love it!! I had completely forgotten to add it to my list of places to visit!

I was looking for some tickets for the Opera, but guess what, they are closed during all Summer... bummer!

I guess I'll have to find something else to do with that cutie...;) And you are right, Paris is the place (probably together with Venice) for honeymoons!

The closing gap in the time line and the anticipation is some of the best exictement to be had............reuniting with the one you love. Enjoy. You two deserve it.

Sooooooooo jealous; I was there last year at this exact time with my love. It is an amazing city...and romantic?? shoot, there's no word that even describes riding down the Seine at sunset on a boat watching the sunset in each other's arms, strolling through the museums holding hands and kissing next to all the nudes, gazing into your lover's eyes while standing on the steps of the Sacre Coure overlooking the night lights of Paris...then making love until dawn after glasses of French wine shared on the patio of your chataeu/hotel....
You guys are so lucky to have each other, and this amazing trip to share. You will never forget it...
hugs,
Karen

Hey,

It's so good to see two people in love, working hard to be together...

It's an example to many people who keep complaining about "how hard love is" (me included?)... You two surely deserve the happiness of being together, I hope both have lots of fun and I'm looking forward to meeting you people here.

Congrats, Jason. Have a safe trip. :p

So darling Maaariiiaaaah!,

Has Jason experienced Galleries Lafayette yet? ;)
Make sure he gets his tourist 10%! And the free tote bag!

I was thinking, why don't you go to that crazy Greek restaurant (across from fondue) and tell us how it is!

...or Cafes Ladoux! Is he a coffee drinker? I want to go back!
Baguettes and coffee...mmmmm!

I'm back!

We had such a great time! No words can express how happy we were during these 10 days, we had a blast in Paris, we did everything we wanted to do, and still found the time to go to the wine region of La Vallée de la Loire!

I got to Paris on time to pick up Jason at the airport, and it was such a sweet moment! We couldn't move! Just glued to each other and stayed there feeling our skins, our scents, kissing each other. Fortunately we were in France and people are used to that!!

Our ten days were hot and I mean temperature wise, too! Paris was tropical! I think Jason had never walked so much in his life! We visited every single famous place (we didn't go to those cafés, Kerri and Sally, but we did see them!). And boy, is Paris expensive! In some places we paid 4 dollars for a soda or for water!

After 4 days in Paris, we rented a car and went to the Loire region. That's where all the most famous castles are. Chambord, Blois, Amboise, Chenonceau, we had the time and the will! And you can't see anything more beautiful than a castle and its lights in the night, with a full moon over it! We had rented a car (and that story Jason has to tell you himself LOL I thought I would not survive it!) and so we were free to go wherever we pleased; our routine was to wake up around 9, have a wonderful breakfast at our little inn, (a house from the XVI century, which keys we ended up taking with us!! I have to send them back by mail) do lots of tourism, come back home around 6 pm, rest ;) take a good shower, get dressed and go out until 12 pm, just to see the castles all illuminated, because it's still pretty much light until 10 pm here in Summer.

Back to Paris, I had to give Jason his creepy tour (he's a Heavy Metal guy, and it seems they like creepy things), so we went to visit the Catacombs where the bones of millions of people have been stored, and then the cemetery of Père Lachaise where famous people are buried, and then the Panthéon, where the greatest men and women of France are taken when they die.

I tell you, life is fun with this man!

I feel so guilty to say I didn't have time to miss anything or anyone, not even my family! These ten days were precious! But we did talk about friends and family, we had some good laughs thinking of Ageless sometimes and we saw many age gap couples (OW/YM), we thought maybe next time we should prepare cards and invite them to come!

I'm having some trouble to upload my pictures (my card seems to have blocked at picture 139) but I'll post some for you tonight!

So, THAT's where they all are (referring to my poll thread on whether it's true that 1 in 3 women are in a relationship with a younger man).

Welcome back you two! I'm glad you had a wonderful time together.

Maria:
I knew it!! I knew it!!! TRUE LOVE DOES EXIST!!!! So many times you hear so many negative thingsabout love. I am a hopeless romantic and now I have absolute proof with Maria and Jason as the models that love is worth is and LIVES.

Eu sou Marial assim feliz para voce. Eu desejo-lhe muito mais.

Maria

You are all so sweet! Cheryl, o seu português é muito bom!!! (your Portuguese is very good!)

Katrina, I guess French women know what is best, hehe. And they are much more spoiled than women elsewhere, maybe Melodee agrees with me. French women know what they are entitled to, they demand it and they get it!

I also have to admit that 16 years gap is not really a gap! We are disappointed, ;) nobody gets shocked when they see us, not even when we find a way to tell them about our age difference, they just don't care!! The owner of the inn said to me, you found a real beautiful man, good for you! No comments on the age!

Isn't this world becoming really nice?

So good to see you back and smiling too ;)

Maybe someday we should have this giant group wedding of ageless couples in Paris. Phil talks about getting married and Paris in the same sentence all the time.

Don't bring the server down with uploading all your pictures (just kidding).

Happy to see you again.

Maria and Jason!!!

It's so good to see you back and happy and smiling! We missed you around here.

Sounds like you had a special honeymoon trip! And like you, Maria, when I am away from here and out with my lover I forget everything but the moments with him and what we are doing together. That's the way it is supposed to be!

I saw the pictures you posted, and I am looking forward to seeing more!

It was most definitely an incredible time. I am too tired to post more now but I will add pictures and write some stories soon about our days and nights together in France. I am sad to have left but even more sad to have been separated from the woman I adore. Our honeymoon was sweet and special - the stuff dreams are made of.

Maria
08-11-2004, 03:14 AM
No, no, Kelley, hehe, it was not an official honeymoon (we are still sinners as the owner of the inn said, he asked me, "are you sleeping together without being married?" and I said, "yes, we are sinners and I bet he likes it this way" :D...

I'm still under the shock of waking up this morning without Jason, but as he said, the counting down has become again, just two months until we are together!

Wait until he tells us the stories, he has a better way to tell them than I do!
