he finally told the kids

refresh: 23/43 - two kids 8 (girl) and 11 (boy) - we've been together a year and then some.

so, he finally told the kids over pizza last night about me. and about the fact that we are moving to boston (35 mins away where he works) and that nothing will change. and nothing will.
8 yr old cried for a little while... 11 yr old was more than fine. but they were more upset that he was moving - not about the fact that he has a gf.
he said all the right things - and let them know that when they want to meet me they can - and that we'd love to have them at our apartment and play on the weekends.
they said that sounded fun!

it couldn't have gone more perfectly and i'm in shock.

yeah. this is all falling into place. it's taken so long.

Sounds like things went GREAT.... Remember be there friend... :) Never repremand them .. let daddy do that.. and share YOUR concerns with him..... I had to say that.. because I went into a relationship with a child in it and that was my obsticle....

It sounds like it was a good start. Mind you, I said "start." Nothing's set in stone yet, and you do have a very long haul ahead. All of us do who want to keep relationships with OM who have young children. But you seem to be more than up for it, and you are the adult. So just take things as they come, because things may take a while to completely fall into place.
