Facial Masks

Ok so this is more a question of beauty than of health, but as we have discussed other cosmetic things here, I thought it would be the best place.

Do you like facial masks? Do you have any special recipes for home made facial masks?

I used to apply a mix of nivea cream, honey and some lemon to my face and leave for half an hour. I was never told the lemon was dangerous if I went out in the sun at that time (I was a teen) and living in a tropical country with sun all year around, I took some risks there... but it was all good.

Some people used a vitamin A based cream instead of Nivea cream.

These days (I don't work for Nivea, I swear!) I like the Nivea masks a lot, have you seen them? They come in individual packs, and the honey one is very good. L'Occitane also has good ones, but they are really expensive, I especially like the one to relax.

I really masks, I think the gesture itself of applying something to your skin shows the love you have for yourself, and maybe part of the secret of why they work is there. :)

Maria at my age I am thankful for the least compliments. I use a peel-off mask by St Ives every 2 weeks or at least once a month. St Ives makes execellant products and very inexpensive. I use the peel-off with Alpha and Beta Hydroxy. It is wonderful. At night I use plain old Vitamin E oil (4,000 IU) Really helps with baggy eye circles. During the day I wear Avon's Dramatic Firming Cream for Face and Throat.
I saw a difference in my skin. Clearer and brighter. Then I had several people men and women ask what I was wearing on my face - did I have make-up on and I didn't just the things I mentioned above as my routine and the firming cream. Of course after this I was hooked. LOL had to be in my 40's before my skin got better, but glad it did.

You'll have to tell me where to get those when I'm in NH. Jason is of any help when it comes to these things. And he refuses to share my masks :D isn't that silly?

Maria most drug stores and health food stores carry St Ives and Vitamin E oil. The AVon would have to come from an AVON representative. Avon is all around the world now. In fact the top seller ( not the word I want) is Brazilian. I will research for you.

When I get "a love" I will insist he use the mask at least once a month or as part of our romantic evening. LOL

Queen Helene's Natural English Clay Mud Pack Masque is the best I have ever used by leaps and bounds. It is like having a face lift in 20 minutes, but costs only a few dollars.

Patricia I was going to post the same thing.....I love that mask, and its very inexpensive!!
And Cheryl I have tried the St Ives one too, its very nice.

I recently got Palmer's Eventone Brightening Facial Mask and I love that one too! Its very creamy white/pearlescent and smells delicious.
I love to do the beauty rituals and masks are awesome. At the same time, I do a deep conditioning of my hair.

Ive been slacking in the primping dept. but this weekend Im launching myself back into it. I just feel so much more confident on the inside. Results on the outside are debatable LOL

Tonite so far, I did my toenails and plucked my eyebrows.

I may go do a mask now that you reminded me Maria!
