Demi Moore and her plastic surgery

Hi,
What do you guys think about Demi Moore spending 600,000 US on plastic surgery? Apparently she wants to spend more on her 'saggy knees'.
Would any of you do it. As for myself, when I was younger I thought it was ridiculous but I am ashamed to say that I might consider laser surgery now for under my eyes and perhaps a chin and a breast lift.
Do you think she is trying overcompensate for her age. Is this insulting to older women or ok? Do you think she's getting punk'd my Ashton? Let's talk!

hiya fellow canadian :)

i was this article during the morning commute . . .

i'm in the relatively early stages of a relationship with an OW who i think is just too perfect . . . but i digress . . . lol

the bottom line is that she's perfect the way she is, and i'm mad about her, and that includes whatever "other" people would consider imperfections . . . certainly not me :D

my article i read mentioned that ashton told her not to, as he found them attractive and didn't have the problem with them that she seemed to.

i know exactly how he feels :)

I always thought that I would grow old gracefully and like my mother and grandmother , and still look lovely at 60 80 or 100.
Now I see little flaws and I spent a lot of time in the sun throughout my life and the sun spots are dark, especially on my face.

I saw a post on here about laser resurfacing and that is the first time that I honestly thought about doing something, and I have only beenwith my y/m for 2 months.

If I had Demi's money and time I would do whatever I wanted to.

Hello fellow Canadian! and to Mrs.Hedge to some extent it can be compared to Jacko but she's got a much better surgeon. However, I think if I got too much done I wouldn't feel like myself, Lisa, anymore. I'd feel like some weird mutation almost. And another thing is that you're changing fate. God made you in the womb the way he wanted you to be. But anyway she's just trying to stop the effects of time and is not drastically changing her looks.
Surgeons are pretty good these days I was watching Hollywood Squares yesterday and it looks like Phyllis Diller got a better surgeon to reverse what the other crap ones did over the years. She's looking quiet good considering her age.

mabye i'm over simplifying flashdance, but i honnestly feel that as long as you've got someone who loves you and makes you happy to be you, looks are a secondary consideration, especially given that ms moore looks quite good for her age!

hurrah for ashton--i think he's a one in a million guy (at least in hollywood)--and i get the feeling that (from looking at photos of him with her) he just adores here the way she is. didn't he leave a young starlet for her anyway? i must have liked her- knees and all (haha)

but, i guess if her knees bother her, she should do it-still, i can't help feeling that that is one of those things that i wouldn't bother with--at least living where jeans and cords are required most of the year and almost no one is ever gonna see your knees.

it does kind of feel like a betrayal--i mean, i can understand laser resurfacing, etc in her business, but knees just seem a bit trivial to me

I wouldn't do it -- why try to be something other than what you are? I only recently colored my hair for the first time ever - - I was kind of "at peace" with my gray... hehe... my daughter (and NOT my YM!) is actually the one that talked me into a new cut and color - hair is just hair and it will always grow back. Plastic surgery is forever. I'm kind of proud of my "mileage" -- hehe -- I never was a sun worshipper so I still have milky white skin and that's part of what my YM loves about me! :D

It's her money, and if it makes her feel better about herself, then go for it, Demi. Actually, I think women do PS for themselves, not for their men. My X-MIL had a face lift about a year and a half after the end of her 32 year marriage. It was for her. She didn't NEED it, and I honestly can't tell she had one, but it made HER feel better.

I color my hair, but I've done that since I was a teener. My grandmother was fully white by 40. I know I have had a significant amount of grey since I was about 20. And I frequently change the color just for the fun of it. My son picked the last color. Black. Looks good, too.

Now ~ I don't think no matter how many surgeries you have anyone will ever be "perfect."

AND I think Demi Moore has only gotten sexier as she's gotten older. I remember her when I was a teener and didn't think much of her. The older she gets, the prettier she gets. Lucky woman!

Demi is in a profession where you have to look great since paparazzi are trying to take your pic 24/7. Cher is another person who is a very confident ,that has corrected a few imperfections along the way to please herself.
Myself, I would never get any kind of unnecessary surgery.Too chicken :p

I've never looked as terrific as Demi Moore does, but I imagine its a pretty good feeling, especially when she has made so money from her great looks. I can see why it would hurt her to see it all fading away......hollywood doesn't have much tolerance for fading beauty. I hope for her sake that she will eventually make her peace with aging and find value and happines in other aspects of her life.

I'm with you Bella. Older men are considered distinguished in Hollywood, women are relegated to 'cameos".

Speaking of fading Hollywood beauty I love the movie"Sunset Boulevard" with Gloria Swanson and Bill Holden. What a classic.
"I'm ready for my closeup Mr.Demille" Great plot ,great acting and Carol Burnette's parody is priceless.

Sorry to digress. Good Luck Demi.Hope you don't get "Punked" after all that surgery.:D

My general opinion of plastic surgery is that it's similar to tattooing and body art. People start out thinking, "Oh, I'll just have one tattoo," and then later they decide they want another one... and another one...

Pretty soon they have a dozen or more tattoos and are planning to spend money on yet another one. They just don't ever get to a point where they can say, "Okay, I'm done."

Obviously not everyone does this, but I've had several people tell me this is what's happened to them. They're constantly saving up for one more tattoo, well, maybe two, okay, three...

They get addicted to the idea of physical perfection, whether that's through having The Perfect Cool Tattoo or The Perfect Hot Body.

I think it's the 21st century equivalent of Keeping Up With The Joneses -- only this time, the ongoing insecure semi-compulsive focus is on their body rather than their perfectly manicured lawn.

I remember her there for sure!!! chasing a little one around the house at that time. I remember trying to schedule her nap so I could watch it. GH rocked at that time. "Luke and Laura, and Scotty with all his shenanigans" I loved it.

I think she had most of her plastic surgery after she met Ashton, for Charlie's Angels. It looks like she had liposuction, a face lift, neck lift, ab implants and general skin tightening. Some critics say it was her career 'come back' but I didn't even know she was gone to begin with! The whole thing makes me feel old because she started out when I was a young teen.

Isn't it great to be rich? I would love to get nipped and tucked in a few places

I always thought Demi looked much better "plumper"
I think too skinny, too tightened looks guant.
most of the better looking women are "plumper" skinny isn't cute anymore, unless your 12;)
I love seeing full figured women, not guant, plastic women.
I would nip and tuck my tummy, and maybe my eyes if they drooped, but I would never want to be totally redone, I want to age gracefully. I think Cher looks bad.

As Demi (and Cher) can afford it why not go for it. Loretta Young and Anne Jeffreys were also two "old" actresses that stayed young forever. Also Sophia Loren . I sure would have my breasts lifted back up over my chest area.. And my thick neck with the wattle sure doesn't look like it did when i was younger. Belly, and upper arms would be fixed. And definitely that lazar refinishing of the age spots. I would still me me.. but the me that i think I am until I look in a mirror.

I recently read that HDTV is sending many celebrities scrambling for plastic surgery. Seems many celebs, Demi Moore one of them, do not look good in the new format. It is not flattering to them at all. Cameron Diaz was another... seems her chronic acne really shows up. Ah well...

i think it is inspiring that a mother of 3, who is over 40 could look so healthy and fresh. i do not considering it insulting to women rather a standard to live up to. it is also part of her job as an actor to be at her best. i think the dating situation of demi and ashton has broken the age barrier for the whole country and whacked really hard at the double standard of age ranges in dating practices and sent shock waves to all the male chauvanist. i think it is liberating to know that in the near future, age will not be a factor when selecting ones mate, rather you may choose one who best suits you not by age qualifers.

I think its great that Demi looks as good as she does. She is person that is in the public spotlight and in Hollywood you have to look your best at all times. These people get pictures taken of them while taking out the trash...

Therefore, if she feels the need for additional plastic surgery and can afford it(which she can), I dont see why she shouldnt get it.
Plastic surgery has evolved throughtout the years. What was once known to be something that only the rich and famous had done, is now something that is done by millions of Americans a year. Its almost to the point where its a "trendy lunch topic subject" , no one is embarrassed to mention that they've had a little work done these days.
If a person feels that plastic surgery will make them look and feel better about themselves, then why not ??
Its great that her y/m feels that she does not need it. They do look like a happy couple in the photo's I've seen. But I personally know that if you dont feel good and love yourself, you can't love anyone else. :)

I would probably have lasik eye surgery done.....but thats about it! I just figure, I am who I am and God made me this way for a reason.......and my honey loves me. So, no I don't think i would consider going under the knife. Although I will say that I am blessed as far as not having any issues with my body, I like my weight, I like my shape......my teeth are nice.....

I can understand why some people would have it, they are just so unhappy to see themselves in the mirror. I've seen some of those Extreme Makovers and I feel so bad for the people.

Seriously, I think women who get implants and silly things like that are very superficial, I mean, they had great bodies before!! And you can tell when they have fake breasts too!! Its hideous!!

La la la - just floating around the boards today .... la la la

I could use some plastic surgery --As in: What does an older woman have between her breasts that a younger woman does not? A bellybutton! -- but I avoid pain whenever possible. (Call my crazy.)

I have absolutely no opinion nor judgment about people who choose to have plastic surgery. I envy them a little. I hope they are happy. I wish them all the best.

If Demi and ashton set the tone for being able to love anyone that suites you regardless of age etc. Then what happened with Cher and her guys? Weren't all of them after Sonny younger than her? But they were called boy toys. As were the loves of a few other lovely women who happened to be actors for their living.

I hope that society has matured enough to know that age doesn't matter and isn't relevant to a couple in love. But what about that Blond gal who married the old guy and his kids are sueing her for money she was willed? Why shouldn't the kids make their own fortune? The world simply will never grow up!!!

It fights over my god is bigger than your god, or I want your oil, or your race isn't meant to live beside mine. Gimmie this and gimmie that, The "World" with it's polititions, it's saints and saviours, and wizards and shamman's can't seem to put wisdom to work on any issue, much less to disregard age or gender in relationships between two or more people in love.

Just my 2 cents

Oh this thread I can relate to.............
I live in Baja Mexico and I am a Beauty Coach for Woman traveling below the Border for Plastic Surgery.
I am their buddy why they are here. I get them from the Airport, get them safely to their Dr's and or Hotel. I have about 7 doctors that I work with. I would recommend any of them for what I see they do the best with.
These ladies are from different parts of the Country and different in all levels. Color, size, problems, $$. I get to see them when they first come and I get to see the after's. I see so many happy Ladies, I also see them in 3 to 6 months later. It is AWESOME..........
I will support these Ladies, in that when we have babies most of the Woman get a Kangaroo Pouch nothing and I mean nothing will take it away, This gets in the way of SEX big time. It is not a case of their hubby or B/F or Fiancee Loves them the way they are he will love her even more and they will become closer. But she has to do it for herself. They have Tummy Tucks and Muscle Repair. And they end up feeling Sexy and Pretty again. I have so many wonderful stories from my Ladies. It changed their Lives.
Also many people have Gastric Bypass Surgery and Lost over 100 Lbs. These people have a whole lot of extra skin which makes for bad health problems and infections. This extra skin needs to go. So they have a Lower Body Lift.
As Demi Moore goes she has to continue her best looks because there is a whole lot of competion in her field.

I Love the fact that there are wonderful Dr's here in Mexico, and these Ladies can save 2/3's of the money it cost's in the States.
BUT yes there are some that become addicted to P.S. Me being on this side of it can say nothing but the best comes out of it.
So don't be too hard on Plastic Surgery, until we walk in their own skin we don't know their needs and never will. It is about being Healthy and Happy, and Confident.

Baja Vicki

Agreed!

Just an aside, Demi's plastic surgery started with implants to make her breasts larger which she then proudly showed off in the movie "Striptease." :D Sadly, even her new boobies and an award-winning performance by Burt Reynolds could not salvage the movie. :(

And plastic surgery can do wonders, but I'm sure she has to work very hard to have such an awesome body.
