LDR can be funny!

Hi all,

And I’m Ash, 28, actually new here and this is my maiden post. I’ve been through a broken LDR with an OW - 14 years ahead my age. It broke for, as she wanted more and more I was compelled to retreat for the good of both! It simply wasn’t feasible enough to mail / chat with her every day or to have ‘fulfilling phone sex’ night after night.

Call it a strong sense of possession that gradually drove her into mindless suspicion (sometimes bordering on insanity) or plain fate, but I am glad it broke; though exit wasn’t such an emotional cakewalk. Ironically it felt like real separation, causing real pain. Online bonds can be so intense and passionate affairs! Anonymity factor works just too well in the beginning. We had even wedded online (!) – and this might sound strange – it did feel like a real marriage!

Communication plays such a major role in any form of LDR, I knew not. More so online, for Internet is precisely a medium of thought. It is so necessary to make things crystal clear right from beginning. Literally TO SPELL THEM OUT even before you venture! One must Speak-Out, even while risking loosing him/her right from the beginning.

Hi Ash, I'm sorry that things did not work out for you in your LDR. You are absolutely right about the importance of good, clear communication. But, it also requires lots of trust and patience, and then sooner or later, someone has to make a move.

I'm thinking of you.
