Hi! No, I am not putting this in sexually speaking because I am not trying to find out who gets turned on by this or whatever... this is not a sexually-related question.
Who here has had this done? What is it called when you don't get everything taken off?
Does it hurt? Is it expensive? How long does it last?
How common is it?
I know this has been discussed to death in the past, but I just wanted some quick answers.

Well I don't think this belongs in the sexually speaking forum but perhaps the health forum?

I get a Brazilian about every 4 weeks, it does hurt like hell for a few minutes and then its uncomfortable for a day, but then you have weeks without worry. Call around to different places the prices here really vary and once you find somebody that knows what she's doing you'll feel better about it. Do not go to anyone that is a trainee. Wear something loose fitting and a long shirt if you can, if you have any strong pain meds take them your first time ;)

Thanks for you responses, everyone!
Oh my goodness!!! This sounds awful!
I, like Amina, have really sensitive skin... I guess I'll have to skip this whole process. :(

I have extremely sensitive skin and can not shave so I wax. I have been waxing since I was 14 years old. Now i only need to get waxed after 6-8 weeks.
You want to find a reputable salon. The price varies greatly based on where you live and the type of salon you go to. If I remember correctly you are in Canada. When I get waxed in Canada I have paid $70 CDN and $85CDN at two different salons in two different cities.
The pain varies. I have a high pain tolerance. Also, the pain can be less if the waxer puts his or her hand firmly on the just waxed area, creating pressure makes it less painful.
Take two ibuprofens before getting waxed. You will be given some disposable panties to wear to cover the rest of your genitals while one part is being waxed.
You can opt to just have the sides of your vulva that are connected to you thighs waxed, which is just a bikini wax. To have most of your vulva waxed whether you chose to leave a strip, triangle, or some other design in form of hair on the top part is referred to as a brazilian wax.
The pain gets less and less after multiple waxings. It also takes more time for it to grow back.

Hi All!
I am a supporter of the Brazilian Wax.
To answer the original question, I've always thought that a Brazilian is waxing the entire area, while a "bikini" wax is just a clean up of your bikini line.

Bella Belle, I don't know where you're having your Brazilian, but I have mine done in a rather ritzy Burlington spa and I pay $30. Cdn. The girl who does mine is EXCELLENT.
I haven't had any bad experiences with Brazilians. I think they're the best 'invention' ever!

Im a male. I have had it done.
I have used Bikini Wax services, shaving, you name it and I have tried it. Its all terrible. Just a good idea to do one for a while, then another..switch them all around. Ya know a lil variety.
