Hi. I'm new here. I just needed some advice pertaining to my current situation.

I'm 28, and have been going to college on and off for six years. I am a junior, and will graduate in Dec. 2005. However, I already have a job in the field I am getting a degree in. I have dated a younger girl before (I was 26, she was 18), but I usually don't as I find most to be too immature for my taste. I also haven't dated many women around my own age because they want to get married and have children, something I don't plan to do.

Anyways, I have a political science class where I met an 18-year old woman from Tenn. She seems very nice, and she's pretty, but I don't think she realizes how much older I am than she is. Our conversations haven't progressed beyond small talk, but I would like them to.

I was just wondering how I could go about telling her how old I am without coming off like a dirty old man.

Well, I was raised by a pretty conservative family. Politically they're liberal, but when it comes do sexuality and dating they're very conservative. There are times when I display their conservativeness when it comes to things that deal with sexuality, so you can imagine my dismay.

Now, I mentioned that I am not planning on having children. I might get married, as a sign of commitement, but I might not. However, I do want a relationship that will go beyond just casual dating. And IME, most people in their late teens and early twenties aren't ready for that type of relationship. Although 18, she appears to be mature for her age, so I'm willing to give it a shot, if she will accept me. I guess I just have something against younger people, although I am only 28.

Are you a dirty old man? although if 28 is old jeezz lol i'm just as old LOL I'm 29 Happily married to a man who is 46 and Is NOT a dirty old man.....

she's of age..... talk to her..... she may or may not go for it... but your age difference isn't that bad... it's only 10 years... mine is 17 years and are more here that have a larger age gap....

Tell her how old you are and see how she reacts.....People are all different. I know 18 year olds that are Very immature and some that are very mature.. god I know people in there forties and fifties that are immature.... :)

Just talk to her... you have nothing to lose

Since when did a 20 something...or even 30 something become "dirty old man" ish? Don't understand that one. I will guarantee that this girl DOES NOT view you as a dirty old man...maybe OLDER but not OLD at all. You've got nothing to lose...I'd go for it and bring up age when it comes up....no rush - right?
