Joshlencarol 09-17-2004, 08:01 AM Is anyone a Josh Groban fan (golden grobanite)? What a beautiful velvet voice that ym has! He is gorgeous to look at, yummm.... Dan Echo 09-28-2004, 11:47 PM Then let me make you jealous. I just saw him in concert last month, and let me tell you, that guy rocks! I liked his show almost as much as Yngwie Malmsteen. Maybe they should do an album together. Anyway, I am a fan of Josh. BTW, he did a big flashy drum solo at the concert, and played keyboards as well. Keep on rockin', DanE lencarol 09-29-2004, 05:07 PM Oh Dan, sweet Dan, tell me every little thing!!! How close did you get to Josh? Now why do YOU like him? He understandably has the greatest voice out there, but that luscious hair, those eyes, that mouth, that body--he just causes my salivary glands to go so crazy, and other things too... Did you get any pics of him? I do have a sizable collection, but ALWAYS looking for more. Please write more (sigh). MerAlove23 09-29-2004, 08:10 PM omg I love Josh Groban what a gorgeous voice he has..... and very cute to...... ;)and I like "older" men heheh Dan Echo 09-29-2004, 10:05 PM Well, I was in the pavilion, but while the seats were alright, they were hardly front row. I did try to get some pics, but all that came out was stage lights. He is very humble, not at all egotistical, or if he is, it does not show on stage. Personally, I think he is a humble guy. I saw Yngwie recently, and Yngwie is, as rock guitarists go, probably the best there is. While he dosn't come out on stage and say "I am the best, aint I great", he has an extreme amount of stage presence and he is supremely confident. Josh was very different. Where Yngwie knew the audience would respond and then played the audience like an instrument in and of itself, Josh seemed a bit surprised that people (mostly ladies) were screaming and calling out to him. He's quite energetic on stage, and he did things that I wasn't expecting, like the drum solo, and I like it when an artist keeps you guessing as to whats next. As to why I like him, the answer is simple. He's excellent. I love classical and I like jazz, and I like some pop, and he combines the three very well. Yes, my GF is a big fan (why do you think I went in the first place?), but having seen him and having purchased his two cd's and his live dvd, I would see him again if he came to town, GF or no GF. Now if he and Yngwie could get together on a project...... Well, its good to dream, but supergroups rarely are as good as the expectations. DanE lencarol 09-30-2004, 06:20 AM Thanks for filling me in on that. He is a phenomenon. Sweet, humble, and gorgeous--my kind of man! Will check out Yngwie as well. If you like Josh, then you probably like some classical. If you want to check out Yngwie, and you like a classical flavor, check out the first album, 'Yngwie J. Malmsteen's Rising Force', and his 'Concerto for Electric Guitar', with the Atlanta Philharmonic conducted by Yoel Levi. Rising Force is a rock/classical fusion, while Concerto is a full on classical work, written with the electric guitar as the solo instrument. As for Josh, yeah, he is a phenomenon. DanE lencarol 01-02-2005, 09:22 AM Got the new Josh Groban DVD/CD for Xmas. Oh he is so lovely! He has really grown as a performer, much more confident and more casual in appearance. Still has that fantastic curly hair, longer now. Looks like a god, sings like an angel. My favorite on this one is his Paul Simon tribute, called "America", done so perfectly and beautifully. There just aren't words to describe what he does to my heart and other places.... yEEhaWgurl 01-02-2005, 05:22 PM Originally posted by lencarol Is anyone a Josh Groban fan (golden grobanite)? What a beautiful velvet voice that ym has! He is gorgeous to look at, yummm.... Josh Groban has the most beautiful, rich voice. One can feel his emotion when he sings. I get goosebumps listening to him! :D Dan Echo 01-03-2005, 10:53 PM Clay Aiken I can understand giving the moniker "Dork" to. Josh and Charlotte, however, I must disagree on. And thats comming from the guy who tries to catch Ronnie James Dio, Brian Setzer, Judas Priest, ZZ Top, Rush, George Lynch and Yngwie whenever they come to town. Yes, I am a serious shred fanatic, and I still loved the Josh show. Yes, I am a serious rockabilly fan (not that wimpy stuff, but the bands where the cats can really play), and I still loved the Josh show. Josh rocks DanE lencarol 01-04-2005, 06:44 AM Ibid Dan--you are THE man. But, I still love Josh more....! Dan Echo 01-04-2005, 10:09 PM Originally posted by lencarol Ibid Dan--you are THE man. Trebmal 01-05-2005, 07:51 AM I got josh groban's live CD for review for my universities newspaper... Usually the louder the better. :-) Josh would be ok at work but I think I should leave my Nightwish CD's at home... charo 01-06-2005, 04:51 AM Originally posted by Amina315 Don't listen to it while driving or operating heavy machinery... LOL Amina315 it does sort of put you to sleep. Just listened to a few of his songs. To each his own I guess. Rings no bells for me either. I've heard mixed things, I'm thinking I'd probably like it. We play one of their songs at work and it's great. velveteyes 01-06-2005, 08:01 AM I'm just discovering bands like Nightwish and other goth metal (thanks to my YM) and it is a whole new world. He plays them to me when we............... I also think that Josh Groban rocks.......!!! hehe...... Velveteyes lencarol 01-07-2005, 06:39 AM Well, I would love to rock Josh! And he loves "older" women--his present SO is 3-4 years older. Oh he would be just heaven.... Dan Echo 01-12-2005, 12:01 AM I just picked up the DVD of Josh Groban; Live at the Greek. It was the last show of the Closer tour that I got to see in August. Although he was better when I saw him (the end of a tour is usually the worst time to see a band), the DVD is still worth it, and Josh is so good, that even diminished, he still is great, and his drum solo, thats right, Josh does a drum solo, is really cool! Pick it up, Lencarol: he will rock you! That said, while driving, I tend towards heavy rock or rockabilly, and occasionally, J-pop. Keep on rockin, DanE lencarol 01-15-2005, 07:26 AM Not only have I picked it up, Dan, but have watched it over and over again. How can he be any better than that performance??!! OMG he is SOOOO gorgeous in his little red T-shirt. He looks like he has been lifting weights, much more solid in the chest, and oh that lovely hairy chest! I like that he is less formal and seems more comfortable with the audience, very funny and adorable. Yes, I really liked the drum solo, too and he sure enjoys doing it. Such a talented guy. I particularly liked his rendition of Paul Simon's "America", very well done! Oh the lust, the lust.... The ym I am going out with does not understand why I am so crazy about him. He says he "looks like he is four, why are you interested in him?" And "you know he is gay don't you?" No he is not gay, he is just unusually sweet and good and kind, "in touch" with his feminine side as they say. He sings also, and does say he wishes he had half his talent. I too am in touch with my feminine side, according to all the gals I know, and I am definitely not gay, so I had no thought that Josh was either. Also, isn't his g/f older than he is? As to how he could have been better, watch the other dvd and listen to how much more precise he is in hitting his notes. Still, the first dvd didn't have that cool drum solo. Also, remember, I saw him on the same tour, but at the beginning, and he was fantastic, much better than on the dvd, good as it was. I liked the way that he's humble and down to earth, but lust doesn't enter the picture for me. Now, Sarah Brightman, well that would be another story if my g/f didn't have me totally captivated. DanE lencarol 01-16-2005, 07:23 AM Yes, January Jones is six years older. And am so jealous.... I agree his first DVD much more classy and precise, showed off his unusual voice. But the newer one shows off his personality, and I so like that! The audience seems to enjoy him this way as well. He needs to be a kid still, so this lets him do that AND show off his many talents. I hope he will do more of the sit-down-at the-piano stuff in the future. And of course more on the drums! So glad you are in touch with the fem side. There definitely is a balance there. Josh may be a little too far that way, but makes him adorable to us golden oldies! |
