Facts: Is one of 6 children. Was married to former E.R. star Alex Kingstone. In 1995 was Empire Magazine’s 33rd Sexiest Man on the Planet.

Biography: Ralph Fiennes was born the eldest of six children, most children with very artistic abilities. His father was a photographer and his mother a novelist. This ensured a cultured upbringing. Fiennes originally wanted to become a painter, but later enrolled at London’s Royal Academy of Dramatic Art to study acting.

In 1988, Fiennes became a member of the Royal Shakespeare Company and performed a wide range of classic roles. He debuted in theatre first, as most actors do, then moved on to movies. Fiennes starred in ‘The English Patient’ which earned him a Best Actor Oscar nomination. He has also starred in ‘Maid in Manhattan’, ‘Onnegin’, ‘Red Dragon’ and ‘Spider’.

Even with Fiennes’ hectic filming schedule, he still finds time to act on the stage. He has constantly supported the theatre and will not abandon it any time soon.

Fiennes' current partner is Francesca Annis, who is 17 years his senior, since 1995
