depends on how much you eat. the recipe i have is basically eggs, cream cheese (which i use part low-fat), sugar (and i suppose you could substitite splenda) and flavorings. so you could actually justify having it fit into your diet plan :D

greeneyedgirl 12-25-2004, 09:39 AM amazing, simply amazing how 3 children equal:
300 lego's
8 battery operated trucks
13 coloring books
250 colors
12 pair of underwear
3 tv direct games
1 HUGE HONKIN' spiderman tent (that takes up the entire den, thanks nana, -.-)
3 complete sets of fisher price little people playlands
and SO many other things which the mom in me labels "crap" that it ain't even funny.
i just sat in front of my fireplace for an hour and did nothing other than feed cardboard to the fire, i have 3 lawn and garden trash bags CRAMMED with garbage.
did i mention the 20 "silly straws" scattered all over searching for the offending foot?
and if manufacturer's make ONE more toy that plays "here we go 'round the mulberry bush" i'll quite simply run down the road screamin' and rippin' my clothes off.
i love my children.
i'm still debating on my family. it's obvious to me, they hate me. imma mummify whomever bought those dang drums, taborines, and wind instruments. joy. pure bliss.

charo 12-29-2004, 04:10 PM This was sent to me and I thought I would share it with all of you.
When things in your life seem almost too much to handle, when
24 hours in a day are not enough, remember the mayonnaise jar..and the 2
cups of coffee...
A professor stood before his philosophy class and had some
items in front of him. When the class began, wordlessly, he picked up a
very
large, empty mayonnaise jar and proceeded to fill it with golf balls. He
then asked the students if the jar was full. They agreed that it was.
The professor then picked up a box of pebbles and poured them
into the jar. He shook the jar lightly. The pebbles rolled into the
open areas between the golf balls. He then asked the students again if
the jar was full. They agreed it was.
The professor next picked up a box of sand and poured it into
the jar. Of course, the sand filled up everything else. He asked once
more
if the jar was full. The students responded with a unanimous "yes".
The professor then produced two cups of coffee from under the
table and poured the entire contents into the jar, effectively filling
the empty space between the sand. The students laughed.
"Now," said the professor, as the laughter subsided, "I want
you to recognize that this jar represents your life."
The golf balls are the important things - your family, your
children, your health, your friends and your favorite passions - things
that
if everything else was lost and only they remained, your life
would still be full.
The pebbles are the other things that matter like your job,
your house and your car.
The sand is everything else - the small stuff. "If you put
the sand into the jar first," he continued, "there is no room for the
pebbles or the golf balls. The same goes for life. If you spend all your
time
and energy on the small stuff, you will never have room for the things
that are important to you."
Pay attention to the things that are critical to your
happiness. Play with your children. Take time to get medical checkups.
Go
out for
dinner with a friend. Play another 18 holes of golf. There will always
be
time to clean the house and fix the disposal."
Take care of the golf balls first, the things that really
matter. Set your
priorities. The rest is just sand."
One of the students raised her hand and inquired what the
coffee represented. The professor smiled. "I'm glad you asked. It
just goes to show you that no matter how full your life may seem,
there's
always room for a couple of cups of coffee with a friend."
Please share this with someone you care about. I JUST DID! :o)

ScarletHawke 01-06-2005, 04:24 PM Chasing Amy rocks.
Mallrats is generally considered the worst of the lot. I've seen it but it just wasn't as good as the others. You can skip it if you want. The most you'll get out of it is a couple more in-jokes from the View Askew universe.
Kevin Smith himself admits that he wasn't sure what he was smoking when he made Mallrats. In fact, if you see Chasing Amy, there's a sly crack about Mallrats right at the end.
Or wait, maybe that was in Dogma. Can't remember.

charo 01-10-2005, 01:06 AM Your right Jerry, after a certain age you dont have pimples anymore......then you get to progress to wrinkles !!!!
Have you ever used a product called Cleocin??? Its a clear liquid in a tube with a sponge top. Greatest stuff going, but more for serious outbreaks. and you have to get it from a dermatologist. If its just "A PIMPLE" once in a while and nothing more serious, Clearasil or any other drying product works I guess.

1love 01-10-2005, 10:38 AM Some of you may remember the surgery I had on my eye last October... my tear duct was clogged and I had a tube inserted in the tear duct that went down into my nose. It had to stay in for three months.
Last Wednesday, I rubbed my eye too hard and it pulled the tube out about halfway and I couldn't get it back in. So, I had to go to the surgeon and he removed it, it was due out on that Friday anyway. Hopefully this time it will be successful, this was my second surgery on it!
The surgeon said the only other thing he could do if this doesn't work, that he hates to do, is insert an artificial tear duct made of glass. He said it has to be serviced every two years... YIKES!

RobsGirl 01-10-2005, 11:50 AM My oldest son was born without tear ducts. He had to have surgery around 16 months or so where they "built" them by inserting those little plastic tube things. One kept popping out (which is #$()*%)$(* gross) and they replaced it with an acrylic one - never heard of glass. I think that'd be kind of nerve wracking! ;)
greeneyedgirl 01-10-2005, 12:57 PM well, everything came back fine this time. i have to go again no later than 2 years.

fos4snt 01-10-2005, 01:28 PM Thank goodness, Tracy! Glad everything is A-OK.
Oh shoot, Amina. That STINKS. I hated having my three (yes, I never got a fourth) wisdom teeth extracted. EEEWWW. Ouchie. Mine were deeply impacted, too. (shudder) My teeth are so big, too... I had to have all four bicuspids out, too. :o NOT FUN.
I will send lots of extra well wishes for you to heal QUICK. In time that you don't look like a chipmunk for class. ;)

greeneyedgirl 01-10-2005, 01:32 PM hey i only had 3 wisdom teeth too
and i got dry sockets in two of the holes, HOLY TAP DANCIN' CRAP! that was some pain
1love 01-10-2005, 04:23 PM Tracy I am so glad everything is fine!:)
Amina, sweetheart... I feel for ya! I was your age when I had one wisdom tooth removed, I only had two and the other one never came in. When I had to have another tooth pulled in the back, they went ahead and pulled the other wisdom tooth. I wish you lots of luck with it and hope you don't get dry socket!:)
You are right, Tracy... we have a wonderful group of caring people here!
I had one wisdom tooth imacted, huge, I have long roots, so even a small tooth the dentist will not pull, I have to go to an oral surgeon. I was 24 and this surgeon was a NUT CASE. It was like a comedy skit. He actually could not get a grip so he got in the chair with me!!! He was sweating profusely under the bright light and it was dripping down. He had to bare down so hard on my jaw that from that one tooth, my whole face swelled up like a balloon. I had just a pencil hole for the mouth, BUT I managed to eat a submarine sandwich!!! My boss got a kick out of that.
Took forever, but it was delicious.
HEY, nothing keeps me from eating when Im hungry. :)
My face was badly bruised, it turned black, purple, then GREEN, it was hideous, lol, but the pain killer I was on helped.
Anyway, Im sure everything will go fine. I worked for a dentist, and I have never seen what happened to me before happen to anyone else. My dentist that referred me to him apologized.

1love 01-11-2005, 06:24 AM I know Trish and Scarlet... the glass thing just doesn't sound safe to me. What if you got hit or something? Run into a wall... not that it is likely to happen, but it could. The visual just isn't working well for me....how about you? LOL:p

Another 80's memory that I mentioned on another thread... watching MTV 24/7 when it first went on the air.
Jo-Admin 01-15-2005, 08:30 AM In the early 80s, when I was just a little Jo-Admin, I remember there was one night a week I had to sit in front of the TV all night so I wouldn't miss "The Love Boat" and "Fantasy Island".
OMG, I have to laugh looking back, because when the Love Boat first came out, my grandparents wouldn't let me watch it because it was "adult" stuff, and I had to leave the room. Looking back at it now, it was so tame it was corny!
In like...1980 or 81....I thought I WAS one of Charlie's Angels. I wanted to look just like Jaqueline Smith.
I saw the first video on MTV, and I thought it would never catch on, Whiterose. Who knew? And I remember seeing some videos on there...and thinking I couldn't imagine how any of them could ever be sucessful.
Does anyone remember that Talking Heads video where he kept saying "same as it ever was" and kind of like..chopping his arm? Or David Bowie's Major Tom video? At the time I thought that kind of music (and those videos) were major weirdness.
I remember "in living color" was that the 80s?
I remember having babies in the 80s, 83, 85 and 89, those were good years. lol

Nope Jannie... "In Living Color" was the 90's. I used to watch it, absolutely loved that show!:)
fos4snt 01-17-2005, 09:38 AM Dang Jo-Admin! I was sitting in front of the TV flipping channels the day MTV began and happened to also watch the very first video shown. Wasn't it Video Kills the Radio Star? or something like that? LOL.
I haven't watched MTV (Emptv) in probably 10 years. But, I was a major addict... unless it conflicted with Tom and Jerry or my sisters soap, General Hospital (which I loathed). LOL.
I also watched Gilligan's Island and MASH, The Love Boat, The Jefferson's, Fantasy Island... and one day, my mom caught me watching Bo Derek's "10" on HBO and about burst an aneurism about how innappropriate that was for a little kid. LOL. I didn't notice the "sexual" nature... I just thought Bo Derek was gorgeous! LOL. (When I met Litical, he wore his hair long in a zillion little braids ~ no beads tho, thank God ~ so maybe that had something to do with the instant attraction? ROFLAO!)

Jo-Admin 01-17-2005, 01:26 PM I LOVE soy milk! I love the French Vanilla too. My daughter is lactose intolerant, and I had a heckuva time convincing her to even TRY it! And it doesn't go bad like real milk, as long as it isn't opened..which ROCKS if you live in the boonies like me and have to go a billion miles for a gallon of milk.
Phos...you have a thing for the cornrows, huh? LOL Yeah, the first video was "Video Killed the Radio Star". I remember seeing it too.
When we first got cable TV, I remember spending hours and hours watching all the old shows that were before my time like Andy Griffith and Beverly Hillbillies. I used to love the show Green Acres when I was a kid. I missed six months of school in the third grade due to what the doctors believe to be hepatitis, and I spent most of that time in bed...I wore that dang TV out!!!
One night when I wasn't supposed to up, I snuck into the dining room and laid on the floor, and watched the movie "Halloween" over my parents shoulder. I guess I had never seen a real horror movie before, because it scared the bejeebies out of me....and I really regretted my sneakiness.
Later on that year, I saw The Exorcist AND Rosemary's Baby, and couldn't sleep in my own room for weeks on end.
fos4snt 01-17-2005, 01:59 PM I DO have a thing for cornrows, but oddly... I DO NOT like dreadlocks on guys unless the guy is legitimately Jamaican! LOL. Then, it's cool, mon.
When I met Litical ~ he looked like THIS:
http://img.villagephotos.com/p/2004-10/866457/JeremySM1.gif
I LOVED his braids. Then he took them out and looked so spanish. Then he cut it short and I like that even better. ;)

fos4snt 01-17-2005, 02:37 PM Eye candy? Well... yeah... I certainly admit that. I find myself staring at him for hours at a time. But he's SO much more than just eye candy. :D He can talk my ear off sometimes, and I am as glued to his words as I am to his face!
Not bad for coming on a YEAR this month. :o

Jo-Admin 01-17-2005, 03:02 PM I, too, have a thing for guys with long hair. My ex had very long, naturally curly hair...problem was, it wasn't attached to such a wonderful guy!
There is something just sexy about the long hair.....
Gah, it must have taken him hours to get his hair done like that Phos! BTW....love your new pic!
bubbleee 01-17-2005, 03:05 PM I don't like long hair on guys. It's all a personal preference thing, so it's cool.
Phos, your guy looks pretty studly and your pic is pretty.
Dontcha think we've got lots of really good looking people around here?

bubbleee 01-17-2005, 05:14 PM LOL @ Trish
The guys in this part of the country that have long hair, don't look like Fabio, trust me. They look like ads for Redneck Makeovers.
And hey, if you have guys, more power to you sista! :)
Science Goddess 01-17-2005, 05:33 PM OMG, I TOTALLY used to have a thing for guys with long hair. God, the longer the better. I think, for me, it was related to the bad boy phase in life.
Now, I can't stand it. I absolutely LOVE short hair, just this side of totally shaved is fine with me.
bubbleee 01-17-2005, 10:48 PM SG, don't ya just love rubbing that stubble:D
nightingale 01-18-2005, 12:52 AM hahahha, that was funny, bubbleee :D
fos4snt 01-18-2005, 05:28 AM Well, if it's any consolation to the short hair appreciators out there, not long after that picture was taken, he chopped it all off very short to be Neo for Halloween and has kept it relatively short since then. Right now he's got a Buddy Holly kind of mop top going, and I need to trim up the back for him (as requested last night, LOL)... but it's too cold to chop off the mop, as he's working outside in FRIGID weather!
Thank God it's not frigid inside. ;) LOL!

And there's something to be said for men with long hair. . . save the ex, every man I've ever been with has had long hair. Long hair on a man, when kept up well, is very, very sexy!!!

Jeremy had a shaved head when we met. I was curious what he looked like with hair, so he has grown it out for me. It's so thick and soft - I just love it! He looked really good with it shaved too - but a bit too much like a neo-nazi with the tattoos on his neck (they are Japanese and his daughter's name, but you don't know that until you get close.)
He said he had it really long at one point. I'm sure that looked awesome with his Native American features, but I'm kinda past the long haired guys thing. Loved it back in the 80's & 90's though. And Brad Pitt is hot no matter how long his hair is!
whiterose 01-19-2005, 05:40 AM I have never liked long hair on a guy, not even when it was popular back in the 70's. I don't like it short either. Just sorta medium. :p
fos4snt 01-19-2005, 06:05 AM Well, I'm the odd one out, because I definitely don't like Brad Pitt. :o Long hair or not, no interest there. Not even remotely my type.
My first hubby was accused of looking like Brad Pitt all the time. I still, to this day, see NO resemblance. He definitely looked a lot more like Andre Agassi with long hair (of which, everyone on our honeymoon thought he was!)

Sorry, Kat. Didn't know him personally. And, I believe he's probably about 10 years younger than me, although I'm not sure, so we wouldn't have gone to school together.
He was born in Owensboro, Ky., which is about 1 1/2 -2 hours southwest of where I am from. But, he was apparently raised in Florida. So, for any Floridians out there, you can partially claim him, too. :D
