his name is DJ
he's 6'2"
built ...for he works out
active Air Force for 4 years.......medic
Air National Guard now
2 years into his schooling to get that lil R.N. after his name
2 years left to go
divorced
no children
he is 34 (his b-day is July 23, which ironically enough is the date momma died)
he's gorgeous, sexy, funny, smart, kind, considerate, drama-free, the MS doesn't bother him (he says he can and will take care of me if need be), he plays guitar and likes street bikes and mustangs.
and
he's meeting my children and my ex-hubby this weekend.

the ex.....being really supportive and this is ODD. says he can't wait to meet DJ and even called up my gal Kim and told her about it, she said that he told her he was really looking forward to it. she told him that DJ was great and genuinly cared for me, you could see it, that he'd really like him.
the ex then called me up and told me that he was happy for me, that he trusted me, that i was a fantastic mother and a smart woman. EEEEP! he even volunteered to let a guy i was NUTZ about know how the cow ate the cabbage if he kept upsetting me for i was trying to break ties with this guy altogether. HOW WEIRD IS THAT?

anyhoo, for anyone who thinks i'm worthy of it.....send up or out or around.....happy thoughts for Trace. not that things will go well for i know they will, but that i don't wet myself in nervousness :D

LOVE !

I give you the stupidiest law I have to take part in enforcing this week. . .punishable by a $250.00 fine and 8 hours community service:

EXCESS ANIMAL EXCREMENT ACCUMULATION

The guy is supposed to be in court next week. . .the judge looked at the complaint and said "I guess this means the **** is going to hit the fan". rofl (Sorry, you'd have to know my boss, he doesn't make funnies, good or bad, very often!)

I guess it depends on the circumstances?? Assumably, this guy has dooky knee high... what... in the house... in the yard? We once had a neighbor that let his 6 DOGS potty ALL OVER the back yard.... NEVER did anything about it, and after the guy ignored repeated pleas to clean it up, we were left with no choice but to take legal action as a community... health dept., court. I mean.. .this guys yard standing upwind, downwind... where ever! We're in Florida, and it was summer... like 100 degrees with 100% humidity...lemme tell ya, it STUNK, bigtime, all the time... made ya sick!!! It's nasty that it had to go that far... but, I can tell ya that the community was mighty glad there was finally a way to resolve it!!

And, if it's knee high dooky in the house? State was alerted because they're are kids and an allegation was made? Or no kids, but...how would any one know it's so deep in there that they needed to sue him? Omg.. don't tell me... he's walkin' down the street and flies are buzzin' around his head??? Bring your fly swatter, and a clothes pin with ya to work tomorrow!! LMAO!!!!

It's probably not such a bad idea to eat most of her daily calories earlier in the day, but I'm guessing it was more her choice of foods, rather than when she ate them, that contributed to that weight loss. But, wow, 172 lbs! That's definitely a diet worth considering, especially since she has been able to maintain that for 5 years now.

Jo-Admin

Kat, she had totally too much orange juice involved in her diet for me. Orange juice on her cereal...etc. I have come to the conclusion that the good Lord didn't mean for me to be "thin thin". Its just the way I am built, period. Im soooo darned short and small-boned, anything over 130 on me looks chunky..and well, thats okay. I prefer to call it "curvy". My daddy told me (when I was crying when I was a little girl..lol) "Women are supposed to have round behinds. That's attractive", so Im sticking to that. My behind isn't too big...It's overly round. *smiles* We just ARE what we ARE....

And well...Trace..you are HOT. Good grief girl! I confess though, I gave him a lower score than you....cuz you have to win the bet!!! Otherwise I would have given you both a 10!!! *smiles*

Eh, I wish we could all get together this morning for coffee and conversation. Im feeling lonely here....

and yes give him a lower score! lol dangit

yeah, she lost me at the orange juice. of course, i have the breakfast of champions sitting in front of me.....Coke :D (in the south.....everything is a 'coke', even Pepsi, if it's carbonated, it's a Coke lol)

i have an eye appt this morning that i have no freakin idea how imma pay for. everybody cross your toes that my doc can find a reason to test specifics so that my disability will pay for it. doesn't that sound horrid? lol kinda like i'm WISHING for something ELSE to be wrong with ma poor ol' body. i'm such a goober. but dang i GOTTA go. haven't been since march of '03, right before my divorce lol

Thanks Trace, believe me, I'm living in fear of that whole dry socket thing! I gagged on guaze one day extra just to make sure things were well set before I took the stuff out! The only thing that's really bugging me is my tongue being numb - they say it's a retractor injury and should go away in a week. It had better, my kids are having way too good a time getting out of stuff because mom can't yell at 'em!!

And, c'mon, woman, we all know you're gorgeous 24/7!!

Superhighwaywoman stages modern robbery

May 12 2005 at 10:43AM

Sydney - It's one of those nightmare stories where you just know what's going to happen next.

It begins with lonely heart Chris Barker hooking up with "Sally 69" on an Internet dating site. He arranged for her to visit his Sydney home and a lissome young woman duly arrived.

"Previously we had discussed the fact that she was into bondage and that she would like to tie a guy up," Barker, 31, told police in a statement read out to court.

After a bit of foreplay, Katie "Sally 69" Broomhall tied Barker to the bed with plastic ties she had brought with her. She then complained of a headache and went out to her car for some headache pills. She returned with a man in a balaclava.

She then complained of a headache
When Barker freed himself, the pair were gone. So was his TV, video recorder, DVD player, digital camera, computer, printer, mobile phone and watch.

Broomhall was later arrested and is contesting the charge that she held Barker hostage, but she did plead guilty to a charge of aggravated break and enter. - Sapa-dpa

i got ya babe....here is roughly what i used cuz recipes are like 'suggestions' to me, lol. imma country cook, we mix til it looks right :D

berry cobbler

1 1/2 cups self rising flour
1 cup of sugar
1 cup of milk
1 stick of butter (never said cobbler was good for ya)
bout 2 cups of fruit with some juice or it'll be dry. better too wet than too dry (no input from the peanut gallery, ty, lol)

mix ya flour n sugar n milk....should be kinda like pancake batter. then i halfway nuke my butter so there are still lumps and you spread that around your baking dish. i use a round pyrex that i THINK is 9" and maybe 2 or 3 inches deep.

after you spread the butter around the dish, pour your batter in then you pour your fruit on top.

350 for about an hour, check it, and you're ready to indulge!!!

you may want to put like a cup and a 1/4 of sugar if you want it a lil sweeter. mine depends on my mood. i'd try it this way first to get an idea of what you wanna do next time.

i'm making an apricot cobbler tonight...YUM

happy baking!

oh and you said you had plums......to get some syrup just cut em up and soak em in some water and sugar and you'll get some. i'd use about as much as you'd find in two cans of peaches :D

you may want to put like a cup and a 1/4 of sugar if you want it a lil sweeter. mine depends on my mood. i'd try it this way first to get an idea of what you wanna do next time.

i'm making an apricot cobbler tonight...YUM

happy baking!

oh and you said you had plums......to get some syrup just cut em up and soak em in some water and sugar and you'll get some. i'd use about as much as you'd find in two cans of peaches :D

Tracy, do you use canned fruit? Or fresh?

Retire ! it sure ends the have to go to work blues. Of course, if you are like me and simply worked for the money to live on, it sure makes a difference in your standard of living. So what do you do for fun after you retire? You look for ways to make a few bucks to raise your standard of living.

Here's a random thought...

Do blind people 'see' in their dreams?

fos4snt
06-06-2005, 09:28 AM
I don't know about that one, Lynn... I do know that deaf people "hear" in their dreams... at least, my Grammy did. Although, she wasn't born deaf. But, she certainly did dream in "sound." She said deaf people hear through physical sensation. Clubbing is rather fun when you're deaf, as you can feeeel the music. ;)
~phosphorescent

Lynn
06-06-2005, 09:33 AM
My dad is nearly deaf in one ear, and has only 40% in the other. In his dreams he says he sees himself as he was at his best, hearing and all. That he is never handicapped in any way, and always young. I started paying attention to my dreams, and sure enough, the people I talk to are always as I remembered them in their younger days, including myself. It never seems odd in the dream. Are we looking at our true selves?

So, I couldn't help but wonder about the blind person.

silverlasha
06-06-2005, 01:38 PM
Lynn, If the person ever was able to see, I am sure they dream in pictures. But, If they never were able to see I too wonder what their dreams would be like. Colors? if they couldn't describe them? lightening bolts? when they wouldn't know what they were? a collage of colour? Aliens? how would something look to a person who could only feel and hear? Surely there is a research paper on it somewhere?

Jo-Admin
06-06-2005, 10:27 PM
Hey there....

Well, my grandma went blind around 60 years old, and she lived to be 99, so 30 years of being blind. She told me she still dreamed with pictures...and in fact could still see colors in her mind. She never had seen me, but would feel my face and said that she could "see" me in her mind.

Towards the end of her life..the last maybe five years or so, she actually thought she could see again. She would say things like..."I love that checkered skirt and belt you have on". Of course, she couldn't see, but she must have been having some very vivid mental pictures. Everything was as she remembered it when she last saw it, thus the thought I was in a checkered skirt, button-shirt and pony tail. *smiles*

The last Thanksgiving she was able to come to our house from the nursing home, she thought there was a horse standing next to the table. LOL And she described it in detail. She said, "After we eat dinner, you will have to get up there and take a ride", so I said "Oh no, please, after you!" lol.

No-one ever told her she still couldn't see, because it made her happy. We just played along with it.

But anyway, she still dreamed in pictures, even when she was awake! *winks*

Don't know if it would be the same for someone who was born blind though, because they would literally have no idea what anything looked like.

Lynn
06-07-2005, 01:48 AM
I actually found a link on this. Do blind people see in their dreams? (http://answers.google.com/answers/threadview?id=99188) I don't know why I didn't think to look before. Anyway, it's interesting, or so I thought.

silverlasha, some of those are questions I too wondered about. Blindness is physical, yet dreaming is mental, or spiritual. It just seems to me that spirituality should be stronger than the physical.

Funny, I have been searching for some info on something simular to this, cause Joel do not dream or see things in pictures (he is not blind, even I claim him to be at times :p ) He tells me that he dreams in emotions and in colors. when he thinks of me, he only have the feelings to go by, not how I look... but he told me that he tried to memorize all the little details that are me...
Well, he calls this his little handycap, but because of it he is a fantastic wrigter, cause where we picuture things he have to describe them... I get the most fantastic poems, stories and mail from him, so I guess his "handycap" favors me.. :o

Great researching Lynn. I enjoyed reading the comments that were posted. But what I think is that since a blind from birth person has never seen a color, they don't know what it is or can't describe it in terms other than those they are familiar with.i.e. touch. If a blind person touched a liquid silver or liquid gold piece of fabric along with a colored satin, would that person "see" them as the same? Therefore, that would transfer to their memory tactilely as beautiful? Perhaps they do see colors and objects but describe them as things they have touched? There is no language to really communicate how they would "see" many people in a room arguing for instance? But the kowledge that was gained was enlightening.

here's to grandfather's who don't run screaming like.....well, like I would, like a lil girl.
----------------------------------------------------------

Grandfather kills leopard with his hands Wed Jun 22,11:42 AM ET

NAIROBI (Reuters) - A 73-year-old Kenyan grandfather reached into the mouth of an attacking leopard and tore out its tongue to kill it, authorities said Wednesday.

Peasant farmer Daniel M'Mburugu was tending to his potato and bean crops in a rural area near Mount Kenya when the leopard charged out of the long grass and leapt on him.

M'Mburugu had a machete in one hand but dropped that to thrust his fist down the leopard's mouth. He gradually managed to pull out the animal's tongue, leaving it in its death-throes.

"It let out a blood-curdling snarl that made the birds stop chirping," he told the daily Standard newspaper of how the leopard came at him and knocked him over.

The leopard sank its teeth into the farmer's wrist and mauled him with its claws. "A voice, which must have come from God, whispered to me to drop the panga (machete) and thrust my hand in its wide open mouth. I obeyed," M'Mburugu said.

As the leopard was dying, a neighbor heard the screams and arrived to finish it off with a machete.

M'Mburugu was toasted as a hero in his village Kihato after the incident earlier this month. He was also given free hospital treatment by astonished local authorities.

"This guy is very lucky to be alive," Kenya Wildlife Service official Connie Maina told Reuters, confirming details of the incident.

And this is the reason why I hate watching news, so I rarely do anymore. Anytime I do, it is one misery after another. Somebody killed, hurt or maimed because of another human.

You know, and maybe this sounds far fetched, but I sometimes wonder if one of the reasons there is so much cruelty in this world is because those that inflict it know that their crime will be made public via the media.

For anyone that has pets, I would highly recommend researching what is in the food you feed them.......I immediately switched my kitties to a brand called ' California Natural ' that has only pure natural ingredients....no perservatives at all. I'm sure for all ya'll in other locations there is a brand that is completely natural as well.

Hmmm, I have wonderful memories of Baltimore [scrunching up her face and trying to remember if it was dirty] .... nope, I don't remember that. As far as I know, the only reason some places are dirty and others are not is because the municipal government pays to clean some places and doesn't pay to clean others, depending on how much income the municipality derives from the area.

It is a wonderful and beautiful city. However, the tax base has shrunk substantially and the city just can't keep up with sanitiation. In addittion to that, the road situation is getting out of hand in parts of the city. Cracked, buckled pavement that will take the suspension right out of a car.

Hey, GreenEyedGirl-Tracyrainlova', I've heard about people like you that love rainy days!!! Neat.

Another cool side-effect of Hurricane Dennis: In the 30-40 mph winds of the outer bands, pelicans can just "hang" in the air.

Bella,

Same reason people live in California and risk earth quakes and mud slides. :D

Ya, but Florida seems to go through this stuff all the time! I can't remember the last time we had an earthquake, and the last mudslides happened in January after YEARS of nothing....it just seems pointless to have a home and have it totally flooded/destroyed every year!

It is sung to the tune of "What a Wonderful World":

I see beans of green,
Eggs of white,
Orange tangerines,
And cereal I don't like,
And I think to myself,
What a wonderful fridge.
And I think to myself
I should really buy food.

FINALLY, THE BLONDE JOKE TO END ALL BLONDE JOKES!

A blonde called her old boyfriend and said,
"Please come over here and help me. I have
a killer jigsaw puzzle, and I can't figure it out
or how to get it started."

Her old boyfriend asked, "What is it supposed
to be when it's finished?" The blonde said,
"According to the picture on the box, it's a
tiger."
Her old boyfriend decided to go over and help
with the puzzle. She let him in and showed
him where she had the puzzle spread all over
the table.
He studied the pieces for a moment, then looked
at the box, then turned to her and said, "First of
all, no matter what we do, we're not going to be
able to assemble these pieces into anything
resembling a tiger.
He took her hand and said, "Second, I want you
to relax. Let's have a nice cup of hot chocolate
and then............",

he sighed,

........

.......

.......

"Let's put all these frosted flakes back in the box."

Often they do think things through...and then go ahead and do them anyway..some people HAVE to learn through experience...they can't be told anything (Thank God I've finally overcome this "flaw" in my personality..and now I try and listen..doesn't always work..but I sure do try!) :)

Ain't it the truth? I can not get over the fact that ticket prices seemed to double, or triple, overnight. They supposedly blame it on the rising gas prices.

Yet, all the time, travelers are paying more for even more hassle factors such as getting bumped or paying double when you are overweight (even though they have most definitely reduced the size of the seats).

Figgy Pudding with Custard Sauce

A traditional English steamed pudding served during the Christmas holiday. This version calls for butter and shortening instead of suet, a solid white fat from the loin and kidney regions of meat animals.

1/2 cup butter
1/2 cup vegetable shortening
1 cup granulated sugar
3 egg yolks
1 cup milk
2 tablespoons rum extract (or flavored extract of your choice)
1 apple, peeled and cored and finely chopped
1 pound dried figs, ground or finely chopped
Grated peel of 1 lemon and 1 orange
1 cup chopped nuts
1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/4 teaspoon ground cloves
1/4 teaspoon ground ginger
1 1/2 cups dried bread crumbs
2 teaspoons baking powder
3 large egg whites, stiffly beaten
Custard Sauce (recipe follows)
Sweetened whipped cream (optional)
Preheat oven to 325*F (160*C). Generously grease an oven-proof 2-quart bowl or mold; set aside.
Cream together butter and shortening. Gradually add sugar, egg yolks, milk, extract, apple, figs, lemon and orange peel. Add next 6 ingredients, mixing well. Fold stiffly beaten egg whites into mixture.
Pour into prepared bowl or mold and place into large shallow pan and place on middle rack in oven. Fill the shallow pan half-full with boiling water and slowly steam pudding in oven at 325*F (160*C) for 4 hours, replacing water as needed.
Custard Sauce:

2 cups milk
1 large egg
3/4 cups granulated sugar
1 tablespoon water
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 tablespoon all-purpose flour
1 tablespoon butter
In saucepan, scald milk and allow to cool.
Mix together remaining ingredients, except for butter. Add to cooled milk. Cook over low heat until thickened. Remove from heat and stir in butter, mixing well.
Serve pudding warm with custard sauce or sweetened whipped cream. Store unused portions in refrigerator.
Makes 12 servings.

Thanks, Trish!

Have you made that before? :)

Ahhh...what a jerk.

Apparently Em, you should make a list of about 100 questions to ask right off the bat, since this guy didnt' tell you because "you didn't ask". *shakes head*

Your right, it's surprising what some people can do and not even think twice about.

New Credit Card Scam.

Note, the callers do not ask for your card number.

This information is worth reading. By understanding how the VISA & MasterCard Credit Card Scam works, you'll be better prepared to protect yourself.

My husband was called on Wednesday from "VISA", and I was called on Thursday from "MasterCard".

The scam works like this: Person calling says, "This is (name), and I'm calling from the Security and Fraud Department at VISA. My Badge number is 12460 your card has been flagged for an unusual purchase pattern, and I'm calling to verify. This would be on your VISA card which was issued by (name of bank). Did you purchase an Anti-Telemarketing Device for $497.99 from a Marketing company based in Arizona?"

When you say "No", the caller continues with, "Then we will be issuing a credit to your account. This is a company we have been watching and the charges range from $297 to $497, just under the $500 purchase pattern that flags most cards. Before your next statement, the credit will be sent to (gives you your address), is that correct?"

You say "yes". The caller continues - "I will be starting a Fraud investigation. If you have any questions, you should call the 1- 800 number listed on the back of your card (1-800-VISA) and ask for Security. You will need to refer to this Control Number. The caller then gives you a 6 digit number. "Do you need me to read it again?"

Here's the IMPORTANT part on how the scam works The caller then says, "I need to verify you are in possession of your card". He'll ask you to "turn your card over and look for some numbers". There are 7 numbers; the first 4 are part of your card number, the next! 3 are t he security Numbers' that verify you are the possessor of the card. These are the numbers you sometimes use to make Internet purchases to prove you have the card.

The caller will ask you to read the 3 numbers to him. After you tell the caller the 3 numbers, he'll say, "That is correct, I just needed to verify that the card has not been lost or stolen, and that you still have your card. Do you have any other questions?" After you say No, the caller then thanks you and states, "Don't hesitate to call back if you do", and hangs up.

You actually say very little, and they never ask for or tell you the Card number. But after we were called on Wednesday, we called back within 20 minutes to ask a question. Are we glad we did! The REAL VISA Security Department told us it was a scam and in the last 15 minutes a new purchase of $497.99 was charged to our card.

Long story made short - we made a real fraud report and closed the VISA account. VISA is reissuing us a new number. What the scammers want is the 3-digit PIN number on the back of the card. Don't give it to them.

Instead, tell them you'll call VISA or Master card directly for verification of their conversation.

The real VISA told us that they will never ask for anything on the card as they already know the information since they issued the card! If you give the scammers your 3 Digit PIN Number, you think you're receiving a credit. However, by the time you get your statement you'll see charges for purchases you didn't make, and by then it's almost to late and/or more difficult to actually file a fraud report.

What makes this more remarkable is that on Thursday, I got a call from a "Jason Richardson of MasterCard" with a word-for-word repeat of the VISA scam. This time I didn't let him finish. I hung up and filed a police report, as instructed by VISA. The police said they are taking several of these reports daily! They also urged us to tell everybody We know that this scam is happening.
