Because Saturday is actually the Sabbath. greeneyedgirl 09-13-2005, 12:44 AM i just did some research, because i was raised that Sunday was the day of sabbath and this is what i found...... When the Christian Church came along, it changed the day of worship to Sunday, the first day of the week, because it wanted to emphasize the resurrection of Jesus on the first day of the week. But the idea of Sabbath rest was a long time coming. It was Emperor Charlemagne’s decree in 789 that forbade all ordinary labor on Sunday. The 16th century reformers took their idea a Sunday as a day of worship and rest from the authority of the Old Testament scriptures. and then THIS: The Sabbath is not the first day of the week (Sunday), as many believe, but the seventh day (Saturday). Notice from the above Scripture that the Sabbath is the day that comes just before the first day of the week. i have been led astray. dookie i do GOBS of housework on Sunday, too. egads i've always felt horrible about it LOL Science Goddess 09-16-2005, 08:30 PM Originally Posted by Science Goddess You do wonder, don't ya, when you get the **warm fuzzies** if the other person even has a clue that they're making your follicles tingle. Good question, about the tummy flips. Sometimes, you can tell by looking in the other person's eyes that they're just as excited to see you as you are, them. Imagine if everyone would treat each other like this. What a different world it would be! We have a new show here in Quebec. Its called (I am translating as best I can) "pass it on" and here how it goes. They did one good deed to a person. No major things like having a new house or stuff like that. One example was a family of 10 or 12 I dont remember and they didnt have a table to all eat together. So someone made them a diner table so they could eat all together. Than those that got the table have to do something nice to someone else. And the chain keeps going that way. I think its a wonderful concept. greeneyedgirl 10-23-2005, 07:27 PM stoopid cowboys -.- Chatterbox 10-23-2005, 07:39 PM After wrestling a flashlight out of it's plastic packing, I realized that a thief could steal a flashlight from my car or my home faster than I could get it out of the packing. greeneyedgirl 10-30-2005, 06:23 PM time test stupid too short msg !~!~~~!!!!! greeneyedgirl 10-30-2005, 07:50 PM jijfawjnclaiwuhfpewunflkwejnfe greeneyedgirl 10-30-2005, 09:08 PM ghvkytfgghvhg last1standing 10-30-2005, 09:42 PM ghvkytfgghvhg Well ghvkytfgghvhg you too...and the ghvkrofillqr you rode in on, Trace! ;) RobsGirl 10-30-2005, 10:50 PM damned Packers. . . *sigh* greeneyedgirl 10-31-2005, 05:40 AM Well ghvkytfgghvhg you too...and the ghvkrofillqr you rode in on, Trace! ;) POTTY MOUTH!!! ;) 1love 10-31-2005, 07:00 AM I'm getting sick.... scratchy throat and sinus issues... sneezing, coughing... I am a klutz and I'm fine with that. Early September, I intercept the New Yorker because I have the mailbox key (its usually on my fiances key ring but he just got back from traveling the day before.) WOO HOO! For once, its all mine first! Lo and behold...its the stupid style issue because its stupid fashion week. Grrr... I lay down in bed and read the three articles that are worth reading to me. I must fall asleep at some point because the magazine ends up to my right. Maybe an hour later (can't really tell because I was sleeping) I roll over and open my eyes for a nano second. In a million to one shot, the corner of the foldout bananna republic ad goes straight into the middle of my left eye. It didn't hurt at first, but about 10 minutes later...OH MY GOD! By morning, left eye is a total blur and bleeding. Hours later at the ER (its a Sunday of course) I'm told its straight and deep and right in my "central visual axis." If it hit anywhere else, I wouldn't have a loss of vision. ER sends me home, says go to eye doctor. Of course this whole time I can't sleep. When I get tired enough to try to nod off, eyeball would relax and roll and send a sharp searing pain through me and snap me back awake. It was like, military torture. Next day at the eye doctor, its so infected that's it nearly swollen shut. Eyes apparently entice the herpes virus (that lies dormant in most bodies) to come infest it, which is exactly what happened. I had to take almost 2 weeks of genital herpes medications to get it back to normal. Even now, months later, everytime I rub it wrong the way, the cut will open up again. Moral of the story: DO NOT SLEEP WITH ANY FOREIGN OBJECTS IN YOUR BED BECAUSE ANYTHING CAN HAPPEN! greeneyedgirl 12-01-2005, 03:00 PM ok......OWWW? Dan_Shues 12-02-2005, 08:12 PM The new director of our department can kiss my fat hairy white *censored*...
