I'll be honest, Koontz lost me for a while there. His writing took to much of a left turn for a while and his books were, to me anyway, boreing long talks of short "what if" thoughts.
However I'm glad I picked up Odd Thomas, it's clearly his best work since Lightening (which is my fave book by him).
It is so good, I'm almost hoping he'll do it as a series.
However, it is a sad, sad book, no matter how beautifully written, and might make you cry at several points, including in the first chapter.
But Odd has a way of enjoying life that we can all learn from. He doesn't take it day by day, but moment by moment and finds something to admire in the smallest of things.
I hope you get and enjoy this book as much as I did.
