Who wants to play Secret Santa?

Who wants to play Secret Santa? This is how it would work…

You would be secretly assigned to another member. You would then become their “Secret Santa”. For the next few weeks before Christmas, you would post little messages on the “Secret Santa Thread” that are directed towards your secret friend. To make it interesting, you might want to read up on some of your secret friend’s old posts to learn more about them. The objective is to get to know your secret friend better and to also partake in holiday spirit.

Just as an example, here’s a post that Jody wrote last year to her secret friend:

Then, to make it even more fun, at the end of the activity, you can try and guess who was whose Secret Santa by sending me a list of the ones you matched up. The winner will be recognized on the threads and will win bragging rights, and possibly a real prize, although this poor Santa (me) is kind of broke this season. :p

Then, at the end of the activity, each Secret Santa will reveal themselves to their secret friend. It might even be nice to send them a virtual Christmas card. There are plenty of free eCards online. Or, maybe you’ll become such close friends that you’ll swap addresses.

What do you say? Want to play? If so, post your name here. Then, in about a week, we’ll PM you with the name of your secret friend and the fun will begin.

I really enjoyed the game last year and I do believe it brought people closer together as friends....I know it made Sage and I better friends...*smiles*

Ok everybody, be watching your PM boxes for a notice from me later today that will contain the name of the person for whom you'll be "Secret Santa". Remember when you receive the PM, to come here and post something here on this thread that is directed towards your secret friend without being too obvious about who they are. See the example in the first post on this thread.

Because we're getting a little bit of a late start, the game will run only through Thursday, Dec. 23rd at 12:00 noon EST. Then, by that afternoon, everyone will need to PM me with your guesses. The person who has the most correct matches will win bragging rights. Sorry no actual prize this year, but it's all for fun anyway, right? Please wait and send me all your guesses at once, rather than one at a time. Then, that night, or on Christmas Day, or as soon as you're online thereafter, you will reveal who your partner was by posting a Christmas greeting to them here on this thread.

Because we're running on a short time period, this will mean that participants need to get busy posting as soon as you receive the PM from me! So, watch for your PM. ;)
