For those of you who celebrate Christmas, I was wondering how far along you are with your shopping. As for me, I am only just beginning. I'll be getting out this weekend to get most of it done.

How about you?

LOL Kimmy. That's funny.

I think I'm a little over halfway through. There were a couple people on my list I'd been wracking my brain over who I honestly couldn't figure out what for to get them...

... and the last week or so, Litical and I have been staining these little boxes we picked up at a craft store and it dawned on me that they were REALLY cool and I should get more, because they'll make really swell little gifts. So, I got a bunch more today and a "do it yourself" clock kit for my Uncle... I need to stain it, polyurethane it and put in the clock works, but I think it will be fun to do and totally 100% personalized. I'm thinking of putting pictures of his family on the face. :o

Then he can say, "Honey, it's half past Syndey ~ can we go now??" LOL

I start really early, like in July sometimes, so by now I'm usually finished, but this year I still have a few people to buy for.
We never put our tree up until the second weekend in Dec though, because today is my daughter's 18th birthday, and I always felt her Birthday kind of got lost in Christmas, so we have no Christmas cards or decorations up until a week after Rach's Birthday.

I wanted to send them last year, but couldn't remember if I dated them inside the card the year before.

LMAO. Kimmy, we have some of the same DNA in there somewhere. I finally quit TRYING to send cards after years of writing them out and never sending them.

I'm going to try again this year, though...maybe.

To date, I've purchased 2 gifts, online.

BEST way to shop, if you can. Unfortunately, I need to touch, taste, smell and see the real thing most of the time. Easy for CDs and some stuff, though

I don't even have my tree up either, and probably won't until this weekend. I know, I know... *frown* And yeah, I haven't bought a gift yet. Someone motivate me....

Christmas cards -- I haven't done that in forever. I don't have the kind of friends that are homogenous enough to appreciate the same type of card, which would mean I'd have to buy them all individual cards. Yeah, not happening.

One advantage to having mostly guy friends is that they don't expect Christmas cards. In fact, they'd probably die of shock if I did that -- or at the very least, think I'd lost my marbles.

Sadly, I don't have too many people to buy presents for, either. When you've lost eight close family members, it really cuts down on your Christmas shopping. :(

Offhand, I think I only have three people to buy for: my Mom, my stepdad, and my wonderful Golden.

Last year, when I was unemployed, I was very ready by now.

Now - - no way - - and a YM and a son with December birthdays do not make the situation any easier!!!
