Hi Dan,

My AIM account has recently been suspended for no specific reason. I had recently been getting unsolicited sexually explicit IMs from an unknown user to which I 'declined'. When they continued to happen, I blocked that user.

A couple days later, my account was suspended. This occurance is the only reason I can think of.

Is there anything I can do or anyone I can contact to remedy this problem?

Thanks!

Hi Lola...

I am unsure of why they would of suspended your account. I've never run into that...

About the only thing you could do, would be to go here: http://www.aim.com/help_faq/report_form.adp?aolp=

And "Report a Problem" and see if they answer....that's about all I can think of at the moment...

Lola,

Looks like you aren't the only one this is happening to. I just browsed a forum I lurk at and saw a msg with this in it...

Recently AOL has been suspending AIM accounts for unknown reasons. A lot of people are getting the message "Sign on Blocked" and are forced to create a new screen name and lose their whole buddy list. This occurs if your screen name was an AOL account that was cancelled, but also has been happening to people who have never had an AOL account at all.

Just a lil more info for ya.

Dan,

thank you so much for your extra research!

I did as you suggested, however, in hopes that I can reactivate the account but given your last post I understand it may have been a futile attempt.

*sigh*

On to another phase of AIM.

Thanks again!
