G is having his annual holiday party at the salon on Wed. This year he is on a tight budget, so we are making the hors d'oeuvres ourselves.

We have a few ideas, but are looking for more. What are your favorites? Ideas for sweets are welcome too! :D
Oh, and please add the recipes if you can.

Thanks!

I usually do really simple, but pretty looking dishes when doing something like this. Some of my favorites are little croissant mini hot dogs. You can also go to one of the specialty grocery stores and get a really nice baked brie (with garlic and spinach, MmmMmmm). Good cheeses and crackers.

Guacamole is really easy to make, too ~ and cheap. I've got a very simple recipe which is excellent. PM me if you're interested. And Litical makes a really good chili con queso. Mmmm.

You can also get nice sandwich meats, cherry tomatoes, some olives and/or celery (I don't like celery) and maybe other veggies you like and make a platter. Those usually go over well, especially with decent bread (think that specialty grocery store fresh interesting breads).

Sweets? Those I don't generally do. (shrug) Check out these recipe threads from ageless...
