On Saturday afternoon I was online checking my email and everything was fine! I have folders where I keep all the emails from my kids, emails dating back about 2 years from my husband, a folder that holds info about important websites I use for business, etc. With the new 250 MB space I was using about 5% of my storage.
Sunday evening at about 7:00PM I decided to check my email and all of my messages are gone! All of my folders are cleaned out! The folders are still in place, but there are no messages in any of them!! I am so upset!!! How could this have happened? It's as if someone signed into my account and deleted everything! I have contacted MSN, but haven't heard any response back yet.
Any ideas what may have happened?

Hmmm...
I'm not sure what happened, Guinevere...
I just logged into my hotmail account, since I have msgs there dating back to '01...and they are still there...
You definetly did the right thing by contacting hotmail. Have you tried logging in again, to make sure it just wasn't a glitch?

Dan...
As soon as I saw the empty inbox, I logged out and logged back in, thinking it could have been a glitch. But it was still the same. It is now Monday morning here in Australia, and nothing has changed. Everything is gone! I have other email accounts, including another hotmail account, and they are fine. I have old messages in the other hotmail account dating back a few years as well. But this hotmail account is the one I use for almost everything and so there was more stuff in it. There is most likely nothing that can be done to restore my messages, but it is still frustrating nonetheless. I had just gotten an ecard from my sister for the holiday and hadn't even shown it to my husband yet!

Guin~
That really stinks and it's happened to a couple of people I know! Just as you said, someone had broken into their accounts... :(

My first thought was that my ex found a way to get into it. He doesn't know my passwords, but he has a friend that knows how to get passwords, or claims to know anyway. It's something my ex would do, even though we haven't had any contact in over a year and he has been married almost 2 years to someone else. He is a person who holds onto grudges and is very vindictive. That's why we're divorced!Or one of the reasons! He is a jerk!

Nessa,
I still haven't heard anything back from hotmail! They can be slow in responding.

Well, MSN finally got back to me... and a couple days later...guess what?! All of my messages are now back in my account!! So it must have been something they had done. I'm just happy to have all of my messages back!
Thanks everybody for your input!!! HUGS!!
