What are your Christmas plans?

On Christmas Eve, my parents will come to my house and celebrate with my daughter and I. I will be cooking... LOOK OUT!:p

On Christmas day, I have no plans although a friend did invite me to her house.


What are you doing?

Well, Christmas Eve we'll be gift delivering, to Streff's parents, then back home for me to start cooking.
My son is staying, my daughters BF is coming to stay for the full week. Last year a couple of her friends came for Christmas dinner as well, as they had nowhere else to go, and I think one of them is coming this year again.
Christmas morning, Streff will play Santa and give out all the gifts (we have a rule that only one gift is given at a time, to let everyone see what everyone else has got) then in the afternoon, my youngest will be picked up by her dad and go to him for Dinner, while the rest of us will eat, then play games and have a few drinks (last year we got Cranium, a brilliant board game, but I think this year it will be Trivial Pursuits), until we all give up or fall over, whichever comes first:D
Streff is working Boxing Day, which sucks poor thing, and then on the 27th we'll be playing Santa again with his nephew and niece, who are away for Christmas.

Christmas Eve will be spent half the day at my Grandparents house in Santa Barbara with our whole family......and then the last half of the day will be at our house, cooking and opening presents with 'C's kids

Christmas day will be spent all alone with 'C', exchanging gifts and having a lovely dinner! Very romantic!

Once again, being the dutiful daughter and bringing their grandson to my parents'! - but it will be fun - Xmas with some of the family, more celebration on the 26th with the rest of the folks - AND this year YM will be here (he was out of the country at a family wedding, etc. last year) and is coming both days!!

My husband and son and myself will be sleeping over my parents house on Christmas Eve.... My parents, My sister and brother in law and us of course will have dinner at my parents....open presents... My son doesn't understand santa yet lol.. next year we will have to change the opening presents day on Christmas day..... On christmas day My dad will make breakfast then we will all go over to my cousins!!

not meaning to sound like a downer, butl, once again, thanks to *it* and his land of perpetual self-centeredness, i will be spending christmas eve sitting home alone, and spending christmas day, sitting home alone, waiting for my kids to possibly come late in the day.

Well, my original plans were to visit my Mom and stepdad up north.

However, now we're getting weather warnings about a major snowstorm that's supposed to hit pretty much all of Southern Ontario. The forecasts do not look pretty (unless you happen to enjoy driving through snow, sleet, freezing rain, ice pellets, etc).

Fortunately, we already had an early Christmas last weekend when Golden was visiting, but I'd rather be with my family for Christmas Day and Boxing Day than stuck at home because of a nasty winter storm.

So my plans are kinda up in the air right now... :confused:

Hey Babes, do retail stores in the UK extend all their after-Christmas sales to "Boxing WEEK" like they do on this side of the pond? :D

My thoughts are always with those who spend Christmas alone, so this year I'll send you a kind thought across the oceans.

There's also a lady who lives next door alone. I will buy her a box of chocolate and leave it at her door. I'll knock and hide.

I'll be spending Christmas with my son and his father, who joins us each year to make my son happy, and that's very nice. He'll cook dinner, probably sea food and I'll take care of the drinks. Champagne and good white wine.

On Christmas day, we'll we will be woken up by our son, too early:confused: as usual, and with a major hang over, we will open our presents.

Eventhough my son doesn't believe in Santa anymore, we will keep the ritual of placing a tray with milk, chocolate and fruits in front of the fireplace for Santa and his reindeers , and make sure, after my son has gone to sleep to pour out half the milk, peal the fruits etc. to make it look as if they appreciated our hospitality.

Merry Christmas everyone. Hope this special day will be warm, cosy and happy!!!

why not ? ok so it'll be Pelmenis and Vodka for Santa this year, maybe we'll find the whole team in the moring snoring on the living room floor :D

A friend (ym I work with) has suggested that we work in a soup kitchen in the inner city. We are both away from family this year (boo hoo), but will spend some time together this holiday. Always nice to meet new people! He is religious, so will probably go to Mass with him on Christmas day.

I've done this every year for the last 15 years. I also help out on Thanksgiving. My family always does Christmas Eve so Xmas day is always open for me and I've been involved with a great organization (not religious) and we go down to the inner city here in L.A. and help feed people and give gifts.

Do it.....you will do good for others and you will especially do good for yourself.

Well, my Christmas plans have now been officially CANCELLED due to bad weather...

Just talked to my Mom on the phone. She lives 3.5 hours away and her area is getting dumped on with several centimetres of snow. She said my stepdad went outside to measure the snow on the ground, and he came in and said it was over two feet high already. The snowplows can't keep up with the deluge and the driving is really nasty.

In my city we also got a lot of snow, and our roads are in bad shape as well. Snow with ice underneath, treacherous driving, and there's no discernable lanes. Everyone's just following everyone else's tire tracks and no one's going more than 40 kms/hr at the most (a.k.a. about 25 miles/hr).

Plus there's more on the way tomorrow... Bleh. So looks like I'll be staying home this Christmas. What a pain.

But as Mom said, better safe and bored than dead in a snowstorm. At least there's a good friend of mine in town over Christmas, so hopefully I can get together with her this weekend if I can't be with my family.

I heard that the eastern half of the States is also experiencing this lovely weather. I hope Golden's okay -- he was supposed to head up to Ohio with his family yesterday. I'm hoping they beat the storm before it hit. :(

I blame my manager at work -- yesterday she was singing "Let It Snow" all day long because it was stuck in her head. Today I told her that next time she does that, I'm duct-taping her mouth before she does any more damage. :p

I'm sorry to hear that your plans have been cancelled, Scarlet. But, she's right. It's not worth risking life and limb to get out in the middle of a snowstorm.

The whole midwest has been slammed with a monster storm in the past 24-48 hours. It's been moving northeast now. My area, Southern Indiana/Louisville, Ky. area, has received anywhere from 15-20 inches of snow in the past 2 days. I spent 3 hours this afternoon shovelling snow. :(

Tomorrow, temperatures are supposed to nose dive into the teens. So, I'm glad I was able to get out today and shovel what I could from my driveway so that I can try to get out of my driveway if possible. I haven't even finished my children's Christmas shopping. The weather of the past two days had me completely homebound. :(

He just called after I text messaged him tonight to let me know he was okay. I guess his family missed the worst of the storm when they were driving to Ohio yesterday to visit relatives. They're snowbound, but they're safe.

I was so happy to hear his voice that I started to cry from sheer relief. Yeesh, I'm turning into quite the worrywart, eh? :rolleyes:

Anyway, he's safe and I'm happy he called, although I still miss him like crazy of course.

For everyone who has to deal with this terrible winter weather, whether for themselves or for their loved ones, my sympathies. I know what you're going through.

you can add my son's name to the list of duct-tape-ees. although, the thing is, we hardly have any snow. just barely enough to cover the driveway. he has been bummed because he doesn't think it will be a good christmas without any snow.

i have just experienced a christmas miracle!!!!!

*it* called me, and said he had been talking to the byotch (said it was her idea) and that they were going to leave on christmas day for her family's instead of christmas eve. so i could spend christmas eve with my kids!!!!!! that way they didn't have to worry about driving at night, and trying to hurry to get back christmas day so i could squeeze in the couple hours they had previously decided to *allow* me.

i am completely speechless, and so happy i could just die. i was kind of afraid to post this for fear of jinxing it, but i couldn't contain my self :D

Well this is my year to have the kids for Christmas Day and then they leave the day after for Seattle. WE have to fly from Dallas, which is about 150 miles from me. Normally we would not leave until the day we fly, but the weather is being nasty this time of year, so we are doing things a little differently this time.

We have already opened all our gifts except 3 and are having our Christmas Dinner on Christmas Eve night (tonight) and then leaving for Dallas Christmas Day in the afternoon and spending the night at my daughter's apartment, then will have a shuttle pick us up that next morning (2:45 AM !!!!) to go to the airport.

The kids and I are on the same plane until we get to Phoenix and there we part, they go to Seattle, me to Portland to see RICK!!!:)

As for my Christmas plans, well its just my son and I here in NY. We are going to make stuffed manicotti tonight and a whole bunch of appetizers and just have a party!
Christmas day is roast beef and my son may have a friend or two over since its an anomoly to ever even SEE him by himself these days!
Ive got to do some baking today..thumbprints and chocolate chunk-pecan cookies! Im going to bake a cheesecake at some point too, a peice of which I have promised to a new guy Im talking to--hope it turns out good! :p

I'm not doing anything this year. The kids will be with their father so I'll probably hang around the house, talk to my ym, my sister, my dad, my friends, basically make good use of the free long distance program I have. . .

This afternoon, we'll go over to my parents house for some adult beverages, a nice Christmas dinner (we celebrate on the 24th), and a gift exchange later in the evening.

Tomorrow, my family is coming out to spend the day with us. There will be more adult beverages (lol), we'll barbecue some steaks and take a harbor cruise in the evening to see all the Christmas lights.

The following day, I'll walk over to the hotel my brother is staying at and join him for breakfast and kind of just hang with him all day--maybe we'll take a drive up the coast, look at some seals--just have fun!

Wow! Thank you thatgirl! I have been to California two times to both Los Angeles and San Francisco. I love it...My best friend and I have been talking about going to San Francisco (she has never been there) in a few months.

The weather here is extremely cold... I would welcome some of your weather!:)
