On NY eve... I will be with my sweet-p, or he will be with me right here in my house... whoopee!:) We have been invited to a "sock hop" but Dan doesn't care to participate.... I wonder why? :p

What about you? What are you doing?

What on earth is a "sock hop"??
I have no idea what we'll be doing yet, I keep putting off making plans in the hope of a lottery win to let us go to Nessa and Bri's wedding:confused:

LOL Babes!

A "sock hop" is the name for a dance they had in the 50's. People dress up in poodle skirts, or capri pants, scarves and the guys wear t-shirts and jeans... I have never been to one but a lady I work with is having one.

I want to be at Nessa's wedding too!:(

I'll be at our local ski resort watching the fireworks display!

I swear, they put on a MUCH better show than the city does. First they shut off all the lights on the slopes, and then skiiers come down the hill holding flaming red torches. When they get to the bottom, it begins.

And the best part is that there is a hill opposite the ski slope, and the fireworks are set off at the bottom of the slope, so it's basically in a valley. The sound is incredible, given the location you hear a loud bang with like 20 seconds of rumbling thunder following it. Best fireworks show I ever saw. (Though I do hear the one in Old Forge for the 4th of july is even better, but I've never been able to go.)

I'm going to be WORKING of all things. The Judge isn't changing night court for that evening. He says that's when all the wild ones come in! :D

I will either in Calif at my sister's or on the road somewhere between Calif and Kansas. Either way I'll be with my sweetie starting our New Year and new life together. I can't wait!!!!

I've always loved New Year's...it's always such a fresh start!

I've been to parties on many New Year's Eve's and have always had a blast! But for this New Year's Eve I'm really in the mood to just stay home, contemplate the coming year, get up on New Year's morning and go do something fun that day.

I'm going to be working too, Molly! But it's partly by choice. I don't really bother much with New Year's -- I did the "party hard" thing in university, and now I prefer to sit at home with a mug of hot chocolate and watch the ball drop on TV. However, that's not much fun to do alone, and Golden will be in Florida.

So all things considered, earning extra $$$ for working a stat holiday is a pretty decent option.

I'll be down at the Lake in Canberra, Australia, in pants and a T-shirt, watching the fireworks reflected in the lake, gorgeous !!!!

I'll be thinking about Nessa and Bri and wishing them well and also thinking about all of you over in North America and all the freezing weather you are having, did I mention I'll be wearing a T-Shirt....hehe.....it's the height of summer here.....

happy new year everyone and thanks for all the wonderful advice I have read since I arrived.
I'll try and post a pic in the new year so you can put a face to the name.
