But does some of the Baby food STINK!!

Omg when I first opened up the beef and broth in stage one I swear it smelt like friskies.... I was like How can I feed this to my son... He didn't like this one so Thank god I didn't have to smell that one...

But tonight I gave him stage 2 Chicken and Broccoli for the first time.. He devoured it.. but OMG this one almost made me throw up.... eww LOL..

Nessa what did you use?

Kelley... My doctor said I can be creative and just blend food if I wanted to... Not sure if I should use dairy stuff like Mashed Potatoes....

Ditto what MrsH said!

It does just flat out stink. I used a food processor and made my own a lot of the time.

I did give my kids mashed potatoes, just without any salt or pepper, etc. And a lot of times whatever meat we were eating I could just process and feed to them, as long as it wasn't spicy.

Whenever they got teeth, I just did like MrsH and gave them teeny weeny pieces...like green beans or mac and cheese for example. And just recently, when I had Mikayla, I gave her those "meat sticks" they sell, which still smell bad but not AS bad. She really liked the turkey ones.

My son ate only ONE kind of jarred food... otherwise, he preferred the baby cereals (rice, mostly). He was a PEAS baby. So, I didn't have to smell that icky combo stuff that DID smell just like cat food! LOL. All he wanted was peas, peas and more peas. LOL.

He still likes peas. :o

My daughter also ate peas, but she liked the jarred bananna and also couldn't stand any of the "smelly" ones. Lots of baby cereals. They both got teeth quite early and nibbled on cheerios, real green beans, soft bite size carrots, those meat sticks, etc., pretty much as soon as they got those teeth (about 7 months!)...

I didn't have a blender at the time. Either time, oddly. I have one now, tho. :D

Dennis LOVES all the fruit.. Loves vanilla custard... HE DEVOURS THAT..... He loves all veggies....

So far only thing he spits out is Green Beans and the chicken soup..... Just hates it....

My problem is that it stinks for ME ick ick ick... OMG I opened up the Broccoli and chicken and I almost puked.... HE ate the entire jar...

He's a great eater.... He eats all his food... and at all the same times..... No variation really ..... So he's on a FABULOUS schedule....

I keep saying to myself..... Its not about me LOL

Isn't Dennis on the soy formula, Mer? Because if he is, you could buy soy milk and make mashed potatoes and other the other things with it, I think?

I mean, it seems logical that if he could tolerate the soy formula, soy milk would be okay? Check with his doc, because heavens knows I have been known to be wrong....

I dont remember much about baby food except it was bland!! yuko

I did like Nessa, just put everything in a blender or whatever. I remember making a roast, and I would put a carrot, potatoe, meat and a little gravy in a blender, add something green, and have vege soup for the baby. Well I always did this, and one day my mother-in-law invited me out to eat, we stopped by the grocery store and I bought a jar of veg. beef baby food, cause we were going to a place where there was nothing on the menu she could eat, I didnt think.

The waitress warmed it up for me, I put the scoop in my baby's mouth and she made the worst face and spit it in the air and it went everywhere. lol I thought OH NO its spoiled, tasted of it and said OH NO this is horrible. My mother-in-law tasted and said no honey that is the way it tastes. My baby would not touch it, I had to order some mashed potatoes for her.

I do remember my pediatrician saying though when you make your own babyfood, be careful of how much salt you put in it, and of course pepper. lol
