thanks everyone. she always has had her own sense of style and been really artistic. i don't believe it is a self portrait, but now that i look at it , it almost could be. artistic talent runs in the family a bit ( although i can't say that her father has any ;) )

she is thinking about graphic design for college. although she really likes performing too (started dance when she was 6) so we are going to have to wait and see where she ends up :D

...if someone could just help her mom fix the funkyness of the first post

You have every reason to be proud wild!
The drawing is quite unique, showing much talent!
I really like it.

My 17 year old son is into what they term at his high school as "Urban Art", but it is really Graffiti Art. He has sold a few of his paintings and hopes to pursue a career that can allow him to follow his artistic dreams. I hope this happens for him too.

My father was an artist, using oils and creating mainly scenic paintings. I was raised by a man that taught me to look to the world through the 'artistic eye' and I just love it when our youth can do the same.
I wish your daughter much success in her artistic endeavors!!

Wow, Tell your daughter if she ever wants to do graphic design at Edinburgh Art College, I could get her a place just with that drawing!

You have every right to be proud!:)

she was looking at a place in minneapolis, but didn't get the scholarship stuff done in time. not too close to home, but not too far either. and i have a lot of family there as well. now she is thinking about going somewhere locally for a year or two, then transfering.

she has a really good chance in the performing arts department of one of the local schools. have connections with the head of the department. but she is afraid she won't make it in performing arts. she is shy when you first meet her, but she really has a energetic personality.

she has also thought of fashion design, but is kind of hesitant because of the cut-throat nature of it-and not knowing how to sew really well (my view is that she can learn)

she is looking all over for schools to go to, but would really need a scholarship. if anyone has any connections, just pm me ;)
