Chatterbox 02-20-2005, 07:37 PM In the Sexually Speaking forum, several of us agreed that our addiction to Agelesslove interfers with other things we have to do. Some have, tongue-in-cheek, suggested a 12-step-program!
I have just discovered another symptom of addiction: "jonesing for a fix." Oh man! I don't know if it's because it's Sunday at suppertime or what, but the responses to the gazillion threads I posted to have totally dried up and I'm going crazy!!!! Really!
I have them all marked so I will be notified when someone posts, but I just keep trolling the boards anyway!
Okay,
Step #1: We admit that we are addicted.
Step #2: We admit that we are powerless over our addiction.
Step #3: We apologize to those who we have harmed and make amends.
1) Hi, I'm Chatterbox and I'm an Agelesslove.com addict.
2) I've got it bad. I am so addicted that when no one was posting to the threads I was watching, I started a new thread. I'm so addicted that, after posting and admitting that I was addicted, I shut off my computer ..... for five minutes and then I started it up again!!!!
3) I apologize to my dog for all the hours she has been forced to cross her legs and tax her bladder waiting for me to take her for a walk. To make it up to her, I am going to take her for a walk right now. ...... Ummmm, right after I read the new post that just came in......
Chatterbox 02-20-2005, 08:12 PM Oh baby, oh baby, oh baby..... thanks for the fix, wow.
CabinFever 02-20-2005, 08:28 PM OMG Chatterbox, you are too funny!! Go walk that dog!
My problem is I have dialup, so while waiting for my work to download (pdf files typically) I browse Ageless and I get sucked right in!! Arg!
I know what you mean about posting to a thread and then.....no replies. Then the self doubt (Did I say something wrong? No one likes me!) starts.... ok, maybe I have more problems than just being addicted to Ageless!! :p
K, I'm really going to go work on my thesis, in 5 minutes....
Chatterbox 02-20-2005, 08:34 PM Ahhhh, agelesslove.com boards, the place where ALL our secrets are exposed! LOL
And I'll take my dog out right.....
Ooops, there's that bling!! Gotta go!
JodieC15 02-20-2005, 08:57 PM Chatterbox
Here is another reason for your dog to wait....because that is exactly what I have... 2 dogs sitting at the end of the couch, behind my laptop screen wanting to hear...."good'bye" from the computer voice...when I shut down.
They jet towards the door knowing they have my attention., when I close the laptop...
You are too funny....lol
Maybe we need a AgelessLove a'non group for our pets....? To help them deal with us....
Like Alanon? Sp?
Now go walk your dogs....lol:)
Chatterbox 02-20-2005, 09:17 PM ROTFLMAO Note to self: add this to the book you're going to write. (Only kidding. Agelesslove.com, what's said here stays here.)
OMG Jodie - that is sooooo funny! Al-a-AL ala Alanon, for dogs, but who will type for them?????? Or how will they get to meetings? If they get to the place where the meeting will be, who will open the door for them? I have no doubt they could turn on the lights, but who will hang the posters?
I'm going. I'm going!!!! But I'll be right back!!!!
JodieC15 02-20-2005, 09:50 PM Good Girl !! Chatterbox !!
Now I am sure your dog will have something positive to say at the first meeting about their addicted mom....a good 1st step in the right direction....Hope it the carpet wasn't wet?
From the way it sounds, as we find ways to go and get places, I am sure the dogs will find a way to do it...lol:rolleyes:
Gee I think I need a CT Fix, I am getting goofy here ....:D Been a long week-end without the man !!!!
Chatterbox 02-20-2005, 09:54 PM I'm back and my conscience is as clear as my dog's bladder (and rectum, too, in this case). I SWEAR, when I clicked on disconnect, I simultaneously heard a bling and I DIDN'T GO BACK ONLINE!!!
Man, I feel so strong! Must be the power of the group!
greeneyedgirl 02-20-2005, 10:03 PM i can stop anytime i want.....and i've got over 2,000 posts to prove it :p
Chatterbox 02-20-2005, 10:07 PM You're not bad, you're just prolific, Greeneyedgirl.
JodieC15 02-20-2005, 10:18 PM Greeneyedlady, we are here for you when you admit you have a problem? You will feel better when you admit it....lol...
Chatterbox 02-20-2005, 10:22 PM Speaking of problems (and Cabin Fever, I believe you 100% that you are NOT reading this, but are, in fact, working on your thesis)
OMG - how about the times we post and no one ever, ever posts to that thread again??? or (Ouch, this one is too painful) when we start our own thread and NOT ONE PERSON RESPONDS!!!!
Oh dear, I'm laughing through my tears!
EDIT - ADD
I can think of several really REALLY tasteless things to call these occurances. Anyone who has absolutely no beliefs or feelings except "if its funny, I want to hear it" can private message me and will swap politically incorrect and insensitive euphemisms.
Bella 02-20-2005, 10:41 PM By the way, Chat, I'm really glad you're back.
Missed you!
Chatterbox 02-20-2005, 10:44 PM Ah, Bella, sweet Bella, wise Bella, kind Bella, giving Bella, funny Bella, I know I am but one of legions, but you have a very special place in my heart.
CabinFever 02-20-2005, 11:38 PM Ok ok, I admit I came back on and I read the thread.....BUT, I DID do some work on my thesis. See, we are making baby steps here folks. Dogs are getting walked and work is getting done (at least a little). :D
Chatterbox 02-20-2005, 11:44 PM Good for you!
LOL You remind me of the movie "What About Bob?" with Bill Murray as a walking neurosis who achieves the impossible by constantly saying, "Baby steps. Baby steps!"
Chatterbox 02-20-2005, 11:47 PM PS Your avatar is awesome Cabin Fever. I'm not a photographer but the composition is really nice AND the picture taker got you right in the center!
manofmisteree 02-21-2005, 12:21 AM long time no see. still enjoying your baked beans? :p
JodieC15 02-21-2005, 10:27 AM Chatterbox,
Can't beleive this thread is still going....lol. This is too funny... But then again, here I am on AL, before work?
Guess you found a need....for AAAL, (Always At Ageless Love).
Oh my? in thought ? It could of been worst.....Could have been directed to AARP when I put in OW/YM in the google search that brought me here to begin with....Things are looking up....
So, I am still not admitting I have a problem....lol...Have a good week, day, hour.....Take it one minute at a time....
CabinFever 02-21-2005, 12:41 PM Jodie - it's ok, we'll be here for you when you accept your addiction. :)
Chatter - thanks for the compliment. My ex took the picture, and he is a pretty good photographer. I miss the mountains SOOOOO much - I'm in Ontario and well, they call speed bumps hills here.
Oh, and I haven't seen that Bill Murray movie - but sometimes it does feel like I'm trying to accomplish the impossible!
