Have any of you ever had a paranormal experience (felt something, saw something, etc.)? And if so, would you mind sharing?

Geez - I've had lots. Don't know where to start. Ok - here's one. I was on a research trip, backpacking along the ocean on a remote trail. Me and my work partner came across a really big cool-looking sandstone cave and thought we'd stay there for the night since we only had a tiny tent and this would give us lots of room. So we set up camp and stayed there for the night. Well, caves are normally cold and damp, but this one just felt creepy too. I ended up sleeping just inside enough to be under shelter, cause I was so creeped out by being in the cave. I couldn't wait to get out of there the next morning.

Well, once we got home I asked my dad, who knows everything about that area, if he knew of that cave. Yep, he did. He knew that two boys had been murdered and their bodies were found in that cave (about 50 or more years ago). Ugh.

I pick up lots of vibes like that - never actually see anything but just get feelings.

I've had plenty--but two are most vivid.

1) My father died in May of 2002. The night after his death we had a severe thunderstorm here in PA (he died in AZ). All my windows were closed, and I was asleep with my cat on my legs. Around 4am (1am AZ time, which was EXACTLY 1 day after he died), the curtains started blowing, and something thumped repeatedly on the bottom of my bed. My cat ran under the bed and remained there until the morning. This is significant because, as a teen, whenever I got into trouble and he caught me, his MO would be to wait until I was asleep, then come in and start banging on the bed. I figure he was mad because I let my mother and brother keep him on life support, which I promised I wouldn't do

2) Not quite a year ago I was 'necking' with my YM at a local dam. It was foggy, but not that late (9:30pm maybe). Something banged on the car--starting at the drivers door and going all the way around the car. We stopped what we were doing, and the noise stopped. As soon as we started the banging started again. After the first time he went out to search teh area--no one, and nothing around. We don't go there anymore

I have had several experiences in my lifetime. I don't see things, but I "feel" things. I think the strongest feeling I have had was at the funeral of one of my cousins. She was a lot older than I am, and we never really knew each other, but at her funeral (she died when she was 36 from lupus) I could "feel" her there. She was calm and peaceful and happy, but sad about leaving her children behind.

interesting that a lot of these seem to stem from feelings.

personally, just one strange thing happens to me. i see this number repeatedly everywhere. clocks, phone numbers, scores on video games, sportscenter stats, descriptive statistics in journal articles...it just happens to be there when i'm looking--444. i've hypothesized about what its purpose is a lot, but there's no way to find any way to figure it out for sure.

I am not sure what the combination of the three 4's could represent. I know that the number 4 itself is a significant number in that it can mean whole or universal i.e. the 4 corners of the earth, the four elements (earth, air, fire, water), four compass points (North, South, East, West).

Have you studied numerology to see if you can find any significance in seeing the three 4's together?

I didn't have a good childhood, one thing that helped tho' was the feeling that my Grandmother was watching over me. She died when I was 5 and all through the years that followed, whenever my life got really bad I would 'see' her sitting on my bed and feel her love surrounding me. After I escaped from home I only ever saw her when I visited apart from a couple of times, she was there when I woke-up in hospital after an OD attempt, on the night after a severe beating and again when I came round after a major operation on my eye........

I think she was there to protect me

OK now you all know I am mad :D

Ive had a few, one very strong one was right after my Grandfather died. My brother Damien and I were extremely close to our Grandparents and lived with them on and off as kids.
I'd never lost anyone before Grampa died and my reaction surprised and frightened me....we went to the funeral and stayed with Nana in their home for a few days.

The day that I came home I began to cry, and even became hysterical to the point I was unable to speak for all the sobbing and soon I felt warmth in the room and smelled my Grandfather's distinctive smell.
He used to use this certain hair cream every day for as long as I was alive, and was also from China and a chef so he had a very distinctive smell about him.
My son's father was there, thank God because that was it-when I started saying that Grampa was "here" he got up and shook me and I snapped out of it. Very dramatic....the smell and warmth were suddenly gone.

Another time was in this apartment just a year ago or so. I have a collection of pot holders nailed up in a line just under my upper cabinets. Its like a long row of pot holders which goes from one end to the other.

I was sitting on my couch reading and happened to glance up and see the pot holders move. Starting at the end by the window and blowing like a flag waves---as if there were a strong wind blowing from the window.
I said to myself, "Wow I better close that window" but when I got up and went over to it---it was CLOSED.
No explanation for that at all.:)

EDIT----Raven I wanted to tell you my son's best friend is just like you with those numbers---except he sees a certain make/model/color of minivan wherever he goes. At first I laughed and joked around, but my son and this kid are inseperable and we all spend alot of time together. No doubt, that vehicle is everywhere he is....strange :D

YAY Trace! I was going to post a link over to DD&DV forum for raven myself... but, ya beat me to it. ;)

There's also a search engine here, raven, which can give you links to many threads we've had over the last six months on this topic... but check out Trace's link, yipyip.

Wow - I was just going to skim those ghost stories but I was sucked right in. Molly's story was particularly creepy - that is like a nasty horror movie. Unbelievable. It makes me wonder what happened there to cause so much negative energy.

I've had several experiences. Greeneyedgirl's link above goes to a thread where I posted about ghostly experiences.

But, I've had other experiences as well. Like Guinavere, I don't really see things. I just know them. For example, when I was 10 years old, I was in Minnesota with my grandmother when she went to visit her brother. All day long, I couldn't wait until he got off work because he was going to take me boating on the lake. When he came home from work, my grandmother and I were in the bedroom dressing for the outing and the phone rang. I turned to my grandmother and I said, "Pappaw's dead." She said, "what?" I said to her, "The phone just rang. They are calling to let us know that Pappaw died." Pappaw was her father. He was 88 years old and sure enough, her sister was calling to tell us that he had just died.

I've had other experiences that I've posted about here on the boards, including angels who came to my resuce twice during emergency situations.

The house I lived in before this one was filled with ghostly activity. It would take too long to tell of all the strange happenings there, but I do have one experience to tell of, (that has nothing to do with that house). Maybe I'll get into that at another time...

It was about 16 years ago and a girlfriend and I had stopped off to have a drink at a bar out in the country that was right off a very busy highway. We decided to only have one drink there and then go to another place that was having a live band, so we weren't there very long. I will also add, the drinks we had there were our first for the evening, we hadn't drank any other alcohol before visiting this bar.

After our drinks we got into her truck - it was just starting to get dark, and she went to pull out onto the highway- which she had to cross the lanes- when she did this, she pulled right into the path of an oncoming HUGE semi-truck which looked as though it was just inches away from us. The semi blared his horn and I remember my friend saying something like "oh ****..".
The next thing I know, we are parked safely on the shoulder of the highway, right next to the lane we were crossing over to and heading in the direction we were wanting to go. Everything was quiet and seemed as normal as if we had just pulled off the road. My friend and I just looked at each other in amazement. I asked her how in the world she managed to get us out of the way of that oncoming semi-truck and she said she had froze up, closed her eyes and thought she just get go of the wheel, not remembering a thing excpet for the semi bearing down on us and it's horn blaring. That is about all I could remember too....
How we safely crossed the lanes of that busy highway like that, ending up on the shoulder in such a safe position is beyond me and why that semi did not take us out is a miracle.

I really feel that we were saved by angels or 'something" and my friend agreed.

444, eh? Similar with me...the # combos of 44, 442,and 444. Don't know exactlly why...but they've become my favorite numbers. Well except for the 442 could also mean the Cutlass 442 which I love.

Edit: I would be awaken by something (?) and I would see that number, 444 or 442 and be aware of those numbers in other things...the underlying reason for seeing these numbers ,being drawn to them in that way, I cannot explain.

But, yes I've had a few experiences from seeing (maybe) a figure in my kitchen when I was younger, channels changing after a death in my family and most recent something in/on my television.

i know of something like that happening to someone else.

my friend's husband and his friends had a running joke about the time 11:11. it would come up all the time when they were doing stuff.

after this went on for a while, my friend met her husband. it was basically love at first sight. after they had been dating for a while, he took her to meet his friends. they were all hanging out together, 11:11 came up, and she had them explain it. weird thing was, that was the time that my friend was born.

i had a driving experience similar to sage's.

i was driving my friends home from a party that was out in the middle of nowhere. like goofy teenage girls, there was about 5 of us in the front seat, because we were scared of all things

we came over a hill, and down towards a bridge (not going too slow either. hey, i have a lead foot :p ) and suddenly saw a cow in the middle of the road on the bridge. i have no idea how we managed to come to a stop without hitting the cow. at the time, i thought maybe someone's hand got caught in the steering wheel, cause i really don't think i swerved out of the way. really shook all of us up.
