I've already posted in the OW/YM section about how my parents have basically disowned me over my relationship with my younger boyfriend. I think there's been a little thawing in that regard, but I'm not holding my breath.
Anyway, I wanted to formally introduce myself. I didn't see this section here before I posted down there last week.
I'm 36, live in Seattle and am in love with a 21-year-old college student who lives in another state. He plans to move here when he finishes school next year and we hope to marry and have a family.
I was widowed after a very unhappy marriage and had basically given up finding anyone else. I was just concentrating on being around my friends, and on being with people who lifted my spirits and made me feel good. Well, lo and behold, one of my favorite people to talk to just happened to be 15 years younger than me. We've known each other since he was a senior in high school, actually, but it wasn't until last summer, when he was 20, that the idea of us becoming a couple ever entered my thoughts. (He had to make the first, second AND third moves, let me tell you.) ;)
I'm studying to become a massage therapist and in my spare time I enjoy yoga, Pilates, running, movies, cooking, gardening, reading and travel. It's a good thing I like travel, because with a boyfriend 2,000 miles away, I find I'm spending a lot of time at airports.
I'm on my way to see him on Sunday and can't wait. He's so wonderful, caring and funny. Just thinking about him makes me smile.
It's nice to meet you all. I've been lurking here since last September but just recently got up the nerve to post.
