Hi, new here!

Hello,

I am currently in a relationship with a ym for the past 1 1/2 yrs. We have a 16 yr. age difference. I have to say, its the best relationship I have ever been in. He is my best friend, my lover, my partner. He has completely changed my outlook on life & love.

I am so glad to find this site! I have been lurking for a few days and decided to join in. I think its great to find how other OW/YM deal with similiar relationship issues.

I met him through my younger cousin, who happens to be the same age as my ym. They have a great, diverse group of friends who are anywhere from mid 20's to my age.

I wasn't looking for a ow/ym relationship, I actually had a very difficult time with the age difference at 1st. But we found ourselves drawn to each other. I was impressed how respectful and kindhearted he was. I turned him down at 1st because of the age difference. I'm glad he pursued and did not give up on me. He is an awesome, beautiful person.

He admitted that he always had an attraction to ow. When he found out how old I was (he thought I was a lot younger) it only intrigued him more.

How hard was it at 1st>?

Hey there Pretty-n-Pink! Your story sounds similar to my own. I'm a newbie here . . . this is my first post. Hi all! Anyway, I've been dating a man off and on for a year now. He is 13 years younger than I. Like you . . I had trouble with the age difference at first - he didn't. He has always dated slightly older women and he thought I was younger than I actually am. We revealed our ages 15 minutes into the first date. I thought he was a little older than he is, he like I said, thought I was younger.

He is the sweetest, most thoughtful, and honest man I have ever met. We have such a wonderful time together. We still stay up all night talking! He tells me that I make him so happy. Ironically it is he now who struggles with the age difference. He broke up with me six months ago due to age, but he came back because he knows we are meant to be together.

I am hoping this site can offer me some advice on how to get past the age thing.

Our YM are so good to us.. the age difference for my YM and me is 18 years. I've never been as happy as I am now. Having someone who loves me and loves being with me just fills my life with joy.

I hope you two become regular posters .. I love to hear everyone's stories. :rolleyes:

I would have never thought I would end up with someone several years younger. I am so glad I followed my heart and gave it a chance. I did struggle with the age at first but now I know its nothing but a number!

My YM and I have been together for a year .. but we are also a Long Distance Relationship as he is German and currently living in Austria.

We try to see each other as much as possible. He was just here recently for 90 days just after Christmas. He was supposed to be here only 2 weeks and he stayed his entire visa time allowance ^_^ It was hard for both of us when he had to go but we are working hard to make sure we are together forever.

And I too struggled with the age difference .. especially since my oldest son is only 2 1/2 years younger than my guy.. my kids are 22, 20 and 18. But they are all cool about my new love and they are happy that I'm happy. Age is relevant and he loves and cherishes me. I can't ask for any more than that :rolleyes:
