How many work two or more jobs?

I have been working two jobs for about a month now, one full-time and one part-time. It seems like if I am not at one of my jobs, I am either exercising, cleaning house or doing laundry... not much time for fun.

Anyone else have this problem? Does it get easier after awhile?

Hi honey bunny,

I had a full time job and a part time job, plus school for several months. It was making me miserable and I couldn't tolerate it any longer. Eventually I quit the second job and though money is SUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU UUPER tight now b/c of it (it's amazing how nice it was to have that little extra money) I am much happier. Now I have time to work out every day and to go out to dinner with friends on occasion. I think the main problem with my second job was that I was also in a relationship at the time...so it seemed like if I wasn't at work, I was spending time with my man...and that was ALL I ever did...just those two things...so I didn't even have time for laundry or house cleaning or washing my car...so, yea...for me...it was better to just let it go and deal with the financial backlash. Plus, it allows me to keep my 4.0 in school which might have been threatened had I continued on with working two jobs.

That's my story..so I dunno if that helped you feel any better..lol. I think if you know it's only for a certain period of time it's bearable, but if it seems like that's all it will ever be...then that can make you go crazy.

Thanks Em.... yes, I know how stressed you were and I am glad you are getting some relief! When you are doing all that, something has to give, right? :)

From one peasant to another..... I feel your pain. I work 13.5 hours 7 days a week. I do get a two week vacation every 120 days; but it is exhausting.

Raising my children I sometimes worked one full time and two part time just to put some groceries on the table.

I thank God that I have the strength to work and that I am free. Take care of yourself with the little pleasures like a wonderful relaxing candle. Protein shakes and good vitamins keep you in good form.

:p Just so this isnt a complete hijack, I was considering getting a job working a couple of days just doing retail. Its depressing to be able to pay your bills but not have a whole lot left for fun!

1love...just to make ends meet I have been working 2 jobs for over a month now...both basically full time, high pressure jobs...and it's not fun at all...has turned me into a regular...well you know...the "b" word..lol

First job is full time mangerial position at a tax/mortgage related firm, second is in real estate sales...and this is that crazy time of year for real estate and mortgage...stressed out is putting it mildly...I wish I had an answer on how to do things differently...I just know that this is what I have to do right now for survival purposes...I hope to get to the point over the next few months where I will be doing just one or the other...but for now, ...I really have no choice..and I'm hating life at the moment...grouchy all the time...I do believe over time it will pay off however...so I'm gonna hang in there. It also makes me realize the how difficult it is to be in a relationship with someone younger..who doesn't make alot of money...ugh..again, more pressure on me...more stress...I dunno what the answer is really...just venting sometimes helps.

Just keep telling yourself it's only temporary...and do something for yourself at least once a week like getting your nails done, a pedicure...just do something "just for you"...it makes things a little more bearable...good luck, if anyone has any other good tips..bring'em on cos i could sure use some also!

Thanks kathy! (((hugs)))

Sounds like you are having a busy and rough time of it! I like your idea about doing something for yourself each week... that's great advice, as long as I can afford it. :p Good luck and I hope you don't have to work the two jobs for long.

Well..the trick is you have to take that $ out first and use it for those things in order to keep your sanity so you can keep working 70 hours a week..so you see, it's a need..not a want...you "need" to take that break cos it keeps you going..and yes, I am having a VERY rough time of it right now...lol...but I'm hanging in there...maybe only by a thread...but that's better than nothing right?!

Good Luck to you too...you're such a sweet person..Dan is lucky to have you!! :)
