Closets & organizers

Has anyone had success with adding the organizers to your existing closets? I have a very small home and space is limited. My fear is that the material will begin to deteriorate with use.

Also, any suggestions for counter tops in the kitchen? I have nice wood that I could paint white, add some new knobs, and replace the top. Formica doesn't do anything for me. Any suggestions? I love the slate, but I'm sure it is not cost effective.

Oh, if I could borrow some of Saddam's marble!

thanks!

I considered putting copper on top of counters. I think the patina would be beautiful after awhile. Funny, but I even saw the idea in a magazine a few months ago, long after I thought about it.

YellowRose,

I love copper and have many decorative pieces including a huge antique kettle. However, how would it hold up with scratches, juice spills, etc.?

How funny.....my honey and I may be moving to a beach house very soon, and needless to say it is quite smaller than our place right now. I am looking into different ways to store our clothing and shoes. I really want to get those special hangers that you can hang like 10 shirts on one hanger........we literally will have one tiny closet for all our things!! AAaaaaa.......I guess this is when people store their winter clothes just to make room; I have never had to do that before so I'm kinda freaking out.....
