I heard someone say "Children spell love "t-i-m-e." I know I'm not the first to say this, but my most memorable time with my parents was when we were doing the most mundane things but they were talking and listening to me!
My memories of some of the best times were sitting at the kitchen table, hanging out, and doing homework while my Mom prepared the meal and we would talk about everything and anything and nothing. For my Dad, it was when he was working on a car or some other project that he'd let me hang around and "help".
And weddings - especially ones that we had to drive hours to get to - listening to my Dad tell stories as we drove; us kids screaming at him to please put out his stinking cigar and acting out that we were dying in the back seat; seeing my Mom and Dad dance and laugh together; their voices as they talked quietly on the way home as we dozed in the backseat. Nice.
