Tell us what type of pets you own, and their names as well. If you have photos, feel free to share them here. I may come back later and share mine.

I have also included a poll. It's multiple choice, so pick all that applies.

I have 4 cats, listed by order of age:

Jubilee (we call her Joobie) - 12
Pepper - about 7
Snookie - about 5
Tyger - 1 (our baby)

2 beta fish:
Blue
Magenta
(you can guess what colors they are)

I knew I'd forget something! Have you voted for "other" Trish? I can add rabbit and insert a vote for you if you want me to. We can't forget the cute little bunnies.

My daughter and I racked our brains trying to think of common pets, and ran out of ideas, but I can add more to the poll options if you want me to.

Trish, I added rabbit and moved 1 vote from "other" to "rabbit".

Michele -- your situation with your hamster is exactly why I keep telling my daughter I am reluctant to get one. I'm afraid it would crush her if one of her cats ended up eating a hamster if we got one. :(

One dog named Candy (cause she's sweet as sugar!) She's a Soft-Coated Wheaton Terrier. No Shedding!

One cat brought to me at a few days old named Mister Cat because he's the boss! He has some Maine Coon Cat in him so he doesn't shed the way my Siamese cats did ... he kinda de-fluffs.

(We had Candy many years before Mister Cat, so we just called her Candy. Since getting Mister Cat, however, we call her Miss Candy so she won't feel left out!)

We have 2 cats, Happy (a 23 lb Maine Coon that came with the house) and Hart (a 1.5 year old white and brendal kitty of love)...

... and two dogs. Brother and sister Border Collie's. Both are 1 year 7 months old. Missy is a beautiful red and Barron is a very standard looking black and white. They are both nuts. :D

Hart, Missy and Barron all came from the shelter. I named none of these pets, as they all had good names before I got them.

My former cats, all of whom remain in my heart, (in order of who I lost most recently) were Potempkin (18), Io (2), Persephone (2), and Rasputan (10). I've had many other cats through the years who came and went rather quickly. Most of them escaped ~ quite daringly, I might add ~ or found other homes where they connected to their owners like I did with Raspie and Io. One of these kittys was a spectacular Tom I rescued from imminent death, who made a totally amazing 2nd story escape by working his way through the screen in the window and leaping to his freedom! WOW... I didn't call the kitty cops on him, cuz when you make THAT kind of effort, you deserve to be free. He has been neutered, too... LOL

Well, I have one dog and one kitty, and a bunch of fishies.

My dog is half border collie and half siberian husky...named Grace or Gracie.

The kitty is some sort of Siamese mix...named her Jazz or Jazzy.

The fish have names, but darn if I can remember then. LOL

James has a pit bull who is about three years old named Cyrus. Contrary to popular belief he is a super sweet dog.

4 cats

Amber-about 15 black and white tuxedo cat. She hates every other cat in the world, and all people except for me

Renegade-he came with the name--I call him my Redneck cat

Sid Vicious-Orange male. The bf surprised me at the airport with him when the 2 kittens he'd adopted from the pound for me for a christmas present both died when i was out of town for the holiday

Calamity Jayne-another tuxedo cat. I got her april 17 when one of the women where i work brought her in, and asked me if i would take her as her dog thought she was puppy chow. her husband had found her, just 3 weeks old, abandoned in a pile of blocks outside a restaurant

I didn't click iguana or turtle because they're inaccurate to my pets. I have a bearded dragon and a red footed tortoise. I did choose cat, rats, guinea pig, and snakes though :D

(my son has about 10 garden snails too, if that counts)

edit: forgot to tell their names!

beardie: ralph
tortoise: billy
cat: danielle
rats: andi, gizmo, stripe
guinea pig: cutie (thinking of renaming her nasty)
snakes: pearce, eddie van halen, wilma, bruno and max

my kids want a kitten and there's no way. My cat would kill it if the kids didn't get to it first. Anyhow it's unfortunate that some pets interact who really shouldn't. I had a budgie in 1991-1993 and then my roommate's cat made a snack of it when I let it loose in my room. Somebody opened my door and in came the cat :(

I have a mixed c___cker spaniel named Coopie that I got from the pound two years ago. He's so devoted to me--follows me everywhere. I've been told that dogs know when you've saved them. He won't let me out of his sight, so I take him everywhere with me. I also have a bearded dragon whose name is Peetree. He's pretty smart for a lizard. I always thought of myself as a cat person, but since I got my Coopie, I am officially a dog person now.

Charlotte, thanks for the sentiment about my kitty. She was seemingly healthy up to the end, just would sleep more than usual. We had many good years together, and they do come to be just like a child to you. Will be picking up my new cat in a few weeks from the foster home. She seems to be a very contented little soul, loves to swipe and bat at the other cats, hisses and plays the Princess. She is only 3, so we should also have a long time together also.

Hope your kitty has many more happy days with you! :)

We have 3 cats and one dog. Technically, we are only allowed 3 animals because of village codes, but we're taking our chances!

Dublin - grey longhair - female - 8yrs
Bailey - tan/cream longhair - male - 7yrs
Guinness - black/tan spotted shorthair - female - 1.5yrs
Corky - purebred beagle - male - 2yrs

It's a hoot when they all climb into bed with us!

Thanks Bella. If you clicked on the pic did it enlarge for you to see his "complete cuteness" ??? ha ha

I have to say he's the BEST dog I've ever had. Shar pei's are very smart and major creatures of habit ......meaning, SELF POTTY TRAINED !!! YEAH

Once they potty somewhere .......they will only potty there !! So I took him outside once ...........he has cried at the door ever since .........not one accident !!

Okay I just had to add this one of our dog Sam. He's wearing a pair of those Halloween glasses that have these screen eyes, except one had popped out. Still, Sammy didn't mind, he was willing to wear them anyway. :p

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v318/FCTrep/Sammy.jpg

Sam is such a good sport. He puts up with all we dish out. We've put pantyhose on him, then threw his favorite rock (yes, he fetches rocks with slobbering zeal) and he'd run after at in all his hilariously ridiculous glory.

We've fastened gloves on his paws and he'll highstep around, looking as if he has seal flippers instead of dog paws. He'll gladly wear an adornment of fern fronds tucked into his collar as if it's the latest fashion in doggy-wear. Dresses, underwear, bonnets.... heck he don't care!!

LOL I'm glad you liked my Sam! I really don't know if he has a clue or not, but sometimes I suspect he does. Yet he is willing to go along with it all. I can't imagine not ever having a dog in my life. Most of them bring a variety of joy to their owners if the owners let them.

I have two sweetie pie tortoiseshell kitties: Rachel and Morgan.

They're sisters and just over a year old. I adopted them from the Humane Society last September. I'm so happy that I took both of them. They are best buddies and play games with each other constantly, sleep next to each other, and clean each other. And just like humans, these two sisters have totally different personalities.

I have pictures in my phone but I don't have the cord I guess I need to download the photos to my 'puter.

I really miss having a doggy but I just don't have the time to devote to a new pup right now. Wouldn't be fare to the pooch.

I also went horseback riding a few weeks ago. I had so much fun, it made me think about the days when my family kept horses and we could ride in the mountains any time we wanted to. I don't miss cleaning up after them though!

We have a dog, a jack/rat (jack russel, rat terrior)

He is black and white with long legs like a jack russell, is very smart and we love him so much. Very hyper, but is 3 years old now so is calming down. It the rat terrior that is hyper.

My kids are all named Hebrew names, so my son said we had to name him a Hebrew name too, so it is Tobias Matthew Porter. lol We call him Toby, but when Im aggravated, I call him Turd. Its an affectionate thing though, not angry word. :)

I have 1 cat named Jigger, who is nearly 16 years old. When he was younger, he would entertain me with his crazy antics. He still thinks my sole duty in the mornings is to get up and feed him. One habit he has that I don't like is if I'm not up by a certain time to feed him, he'll try to bite my ankles. He knows he's being bad because he'll bite my ankle and then quickly run to the other side of the bed or run out of my bedroom if I yell at him. But I love him. If he's not trying to bite my ankle to get me up, he'll start meowing. He cracks me up because sometimes it actually sounds like he's screaming at me, especially if he thinks I'm not awake yet. lol Although Jigger is starting to show signs of age now, he is an amazing cat. I have always loved all the animals I've ever had. I also feed some the strays. I cannot take any of them in because Jigger just would not accept them. He is basically a one-person cat. Friends that come to visit and want to pet him get upset when he growls at them if they get too close.

Many years ago I had taken in a stray female cat. She had gotten out, became pregant, had 3 kittens in my apartment, on my birthday. I wound up keeping one of her kittens. He was the most loveable cat I had ever had. I also had an older calico cat at the same time, plus a Springer Spaniel mix. The calico cat's name was Tiger. She was beautifully marked, but had a nasty disposition. The stray cat I took in was named Boots or Bootsie and was black and white. She had unusual markings on her face in which it looked like someone had thrown paint on her. The black and white markings criss-crossed across her face. The kitten I kept was also black and whiteand named Tuffy. I named him that because when he was still a kitten, he would beat up Bootsie. The Springer, also black and white was named Roscoe. When I would walk Roscoe outside, Bootsie would follow along side us. Tuffy was still a kitten and tried to follow us a couple of times, but only got about 2 car lengths, would get frightened and then cry, meowing almost hysterically until we returned from the walk. These were animals I had about 30 years ago. :(

I have 1 dog. an Old English Sheepdog we named Sir Barksure Of Barttelot. We show him and well Barksure comes from an U.K. cartoon William Wishwellington a boy gets magic boots and wishes for a dog and he gets a sheepdog named Barksure and Barttelot is mom's family name from years ago. we have even traced his pedigree his great great great uncle (who Barksure really resembles closely like his twin) is one of the most winningest sheepies in the ring but enough praise about Barky , he's a delight to have around he will be a year old here on Aug 18and we might be getting a female soon for him to pal around with.
