Make Time for You

Make Time for You
Unplug
Resist the urge to run errands, advises Laura Berman Fortgang, author of Living Your Best Life (Penguin; $14). For 12 hours, turn off your cell phone, television and computer. Read a book, take a nap, garden or go for a walk at a local park instead.

Banish the mess
Mastermind a clean sweep by hiring a professional cleaning service such as Merry Maids for a day (prices start at $75 for a 2,000-square-foot home). "A home free of clutter will give you clarity and calmness," says Gary Quinn, motivational speaker and author of Living in the Spiritual Zone (HCI; $12.95).

Be spontaneous
Enjoy an impromptu picnic. Head to the local farmers' market for fresh bread, fruits and vegetables, then invite a friend to join you for a leisurely lunch.

Learn something new
"Create a list of things you want to experience in your life," says Quinn. Then begin to do them. Sign up for painting lessons, volunteer in your community or take up a favorite sport again.

Indulge
"Treat yourself like a star," recommends Quinn. Schedule a manicure, a haircut, a massage ‑- whatever pampers you.

Start your day outdoors
Breathe the air, put your feet in the dirt and take in the bigger version of your world, suggests life coach Laura Berman Fortgang.

I read this article today and realized that I really need to take the time and do some of these things for myself...I am feeling overworked, overwhelmed and overtired lately...so think it's almost time for a little "mental" break...some good suggestions I pulled from Country Living magazine this afternoon. :)

good ideas, quality times. "start your day outdoors" sounds good.
last time i went to the zoo, it was a wonderful place to spend your day.
remembered walking around different paths and surrounded with exotic animals; smelling the trees, the grass, hayes and animals dung....really bring you closer with nature... :)
