Just looked it up, and gif. is an acronym for Graphic Interchange Format. Guess it makes sense in some way! I was just so gosh-darned proud of myself after Snow gave her good instructions, and I actually made it work. I went on a mad gif. and animated smiley spree. Honest I'm not a monster.

Look at all the pretty gifs, pick a gif, OR you can just right click on anyof these animated gifs on this thread, or basically right click on almost any pic, gif etc.. on any page on the web.
ok now with your mouse click on the RIGHT hand side over the picture, a box will pop up with words like save picture as, set as wall paper, copy and PROPERTIES, CLICK ON PROPERTIES, than a box will come up and find the address, it will start with Http:
Copy and paste that, If ya need help with copy and paste just ask,
Ok the tough part is done now, Whew!
Ok now come to this thread, hit post reply, when you get in here type a little if ya want and to put your picture up go up on top here to the IMG, click on it, make sure that http part isn't in the box that ageless provides, because yours will also start with that, than put that saved copy and paste web address in there. ok than go preview and I bet it will work!

If you've been reading this whole thread, you know I'm not one of the gifted and talented ones who can do all the fancy stuff. But I think I can answer your question lol - yes, the picture beside all your posts is the avatar and there are instructions as to how to put it up under user cp at the top of the page in the little blue box. You have to have a pic that is small enough though. And since you're new, you may already know about it, but we have a member's photo album. Its here under chit chat and I'll go bump it up to the top now so you can find it easier. You can post your pictures there too. OK, thats all I know!!!!

Ok you guys...I have a really big problem. I was out looking around on the net to find a cool animated object to add here along with the rest of you techie people and I don't know what I did wrong, but now I have an animated penis on my screen that follows my curser EVERYWHERE and I can't get rid of it! I even shut down my computer and rebooted to see if that would work. Nope. It was STILL THERE. Can anyone help me???

OMG! Are you serious! LOL! I'm sorry, but that is the first real laugh I have had today...I don't know how to fix it, but I sure hope someone does cuz I can see where that might get annoying...

ugh, I hate when that stuff happens. Sometimes that is a spyware thing. Go to Lavasoft.com and download AdAware. It will search your system and find all the spyware and you can delete it.
Its free.
And try going into your start up in programs and see if there is something there that shouldn't be.
Or try doing a search for cursors and see if you can find something named something like penis or something.
Its too early in the AM and I have to go to work, that's all I can think of on really short notice.
It's pretty funny though, you have to admit. If you ever get a pop up telling you its important you install this whatever, and you haven't asked for it ALWAYS say no.

but, .gif's r good hiding places for worms and trojans. always scan them.

depending on your OS, im assuming Windows, in 98se - XP, you simply have to go to start>controlpanel>mouse: click on pointers tab, and change it.




if your in linux or UNIX

/mnt/root/cp/mouse/point=def

run that as a batch, it'll come back normal.

SOunds lIke some perverted version of CometCursor made its way into your registry and startup, if your using windows
start>run>msconfig look for CCursor, or COmet, uncheck it, apply it, ok it, restart, then go to control panel, add/remov progs, and uninstall comet cursor

AdAware gets rid of Comet as well.
For us less techie types.

I get those pop-up things all the time and it drives me nuts. You hit the X to get out of it and it just keeps coming back! Ah well. My cure-all for most of my computer problems is control alt delete.

What I did to get your picture to link up is.....I went to your picture..
then right clicked on it....
scrolled to where it said...
copy image address and clicked it.

Then I came here made sure that on the left side of my screen the vB Code was clicked to Enhanced mode....
then clicked on the IMG button at the top....
when the request for the url popped up..
I simply deleted the http:// that was already there then pasted the link i had saved into the box.....

Try again.. U will get it:)

That's not true. I downloaded AdAware. It will locate spywares for free but you have to pay (purchase it) in order to delete the spyware. I think it's about $24.99 to purchase.

Chosen, I've never paid for Adaware, I downloaded the free version, and I've used it for three years now. I've tried spybot, and a couple of others, but I've been happier with the adaware than any of them.
Dunno, maybe they've changed since I downloaded it, but I didn't pay a dime, and I delete stuff all the time with it.
Updates have been free as well.

I believe it has to come from somewhere on the web...not simpy from your computer...



when u have gotten the properties from a .gif u like on the web you just come here and hit the IMG button(make sure enhanced mode is enabled)...then when a box appears...take OUT the http first and then re-copy the properties in that box of the item u want to display...

take out the http displayed

then copy this link there.....
