Hi everyone, I just wanted to introduce myself. I really do not know how active I will be on posting and or replying but I am sure with the relationship I have recently gotten into, I just might be in need of advice with others whom can relate.
I am a 31 year old divorced mom of a wonderful 8 year old boy. Just started seeing an older man, 19 years older, that has been pondered now for sometime. I have known this man since I was my son's age, and as I grew up I really got to know him and like him. He is a frequent visitor at my place of work, in fact he married an ex-co worker and is divorced once again himself.
After many years of seeming interested in one another with off timing, usually one of us was in a relationship already, we finally both ended up available this time. So we made plans as friends to do something together.
We went camping with my son, and over the 3 days we really got to talk more about how we both might feel about each other. Well basically talk about the difference in age and reactions of other people in our lives. Like his son is my age, my mother is a year younger than him and he has grandchildren the same age as my son. We also talked about what we want out of a relationship, such as what is both our idea of fun, outings and stuff like that. All went very well, and he was a complete gentleman and it remained a just friends camping trip.
Once we got back we both talked to our families about what they would feel about him and I getting together. My mother could not be happier, she herself is now married to a man 22 years older than her. His son gave him no concerns about it being a problem either. This is all so new to me, considering prior to this I have only dated younger guys, wow what a difference. I mean this older man likes to talk to me and actually listens, not just saying unhuh trying to get into my pants. He like I said is a perfect gentleman and we get along really well. I am really hoping that this is it, because I really have never been so happy, and this time I haven't tried at all it is all just unfolding so naturally like.
He did ask if we could go camping again and I of course said yes. His job takes him out of town a lot, but that just might be the best thing for him and I. In my past relationships I have come to find I just do not like clingy guys, and dating the younger ones that is all I ever seemed to find. Him going away will give me time to miss and appreciate him I feel.
I am just so very happy and I can only hope that this is "the one".
Thanks all who stuck it out to read this all for listening.
Take care
:)
