We have one singer here in Montreal. She is now 35 I think. Anyhow, her agent started to take advantage of her she was 9 years old!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Last year she finally decided to speak up. Its heart wrenching but a darn good thing that someone do speak up. She started a foundation to help abused children. We have a documentary coming out called "Children of silence" and a theme song she did last night on a big show we have here.
When she came out many people judged her first. Tought it was for money, why didnt she came out before. By the way, her agent is in prison now. Everyone hates him now. And he was a real well known agent here. I mean one of the biggest name! It took alot of courage on her part to come out as he is a known person and she knew it would create contraversy. But she did also an interview with someone well known here, with lots of integrity (he is the one that did the documentary) that is coming out here in theaters. I'm going to see it.
If we can just frame those son of a ***** (sorry but I dont want to censure this). They are what they are! Yesterday she said her foundation was to help other foundations. Some have a waiting list up to 6 MONTHS! I mean. Think about it. How many kids are being abused by someone they know and we know nothing aobut. Its a social awareness we need and for people to DO something about it and more severe laws. it makes me sick to my stomach that they let these guys out of prison! :mad:

:eek: Well, Faith... on the same note, what kind of parent would leave their 9 year old ALONE with adults in the entertainment industry? NO WAY would I leave my under 18 daughter alone with anyone in the entertainment industry. Not for a SECOND.

Litical's best friend was engaged to a girl last year who wanted to be a model. I told him, from my personal experience, that under NO circumstances should he allow her to go on any shoots without a girlfriend or himself in attendance. MY experience around these parts is young girls going into shoots to get "started" as a model WILL be taken advantage of... how many d!cks can you suck to get to the top? :eek: SAD, but true.

If my daughter wants anything to do with that industry, she will not spend one second alone with anyone. PERIOD. She will be accompanied to anything/everything with either myself, her brother, my mother or someone else capable of defending her honor and decency.

I have NO faith in anyone in that industry to NOT take advantage of my child. And anyone thinking otherwise is a damn fool.

Yes, its not just girls. Boys too. I have 2 sons. Now grown up but when there were younger I was being careful as much with my sons as I am with my daughter.


And Fos, I know. I TOTALLY understand. But he was known, trusted, he was already her brother's agent and no one EVER suspected him. But before he was her agent he was already her brother's agent as I said and guess what?
He did abused one of her brother but they wont tell us which one (but we pretty much all know here who it is). But that wasnt known than.
I know, its tough to wrap your brain around it.
They really trusted than man. He was like a family member to them He knew the whole family. The mother, father so they really didnt suspect nothing.
Anyway, its a sad story but she is doing something positive out of it. Thats the only good thing that came out of all this.

Thanks for posting this Sheila...I would like nothing better than to report any sign of this kind of stuff that I find online...at any place and at anytime...I have a very strong dislike for these types and/or any variation thereof...I'll keep this site bookmarked for future reference...thanks again for being proactive.

I think this is a really great site. I think every state should fund this type of program. I know we have a couple of cops just dying to do this sort of thing. They'd be happy just to be involved.

And, as much as I love Celine Dion, Faith, babe, you HAVE to admit that whole Rene thing WAS a tad weird. Her talking about sleeping with his picture under her pillow from 16-18 and then him "making his move" when she finally turned 19 or something like that. That doesn't seem like a happenstance type of relationship, it actually sounds kind of predatory in a way.

Either way, they're married, they've got a child. . .that seemed to work out ok. But what about the OTHER oddball situations? I agree with Phos - I would NEVER leave a child, ANY child of ANY age under the age of 20 alone with a member of the entertainment industry. The agents, managers and directors are worse than the actors. There's a lot of predatory behavior in that venue and it's not safe. I think it's worse now than it's ever been actually.

Wow, I knew about online predators, but to see them in "action" like this?
