Why are their clothes so freakin cute, but so freakin expensive??!! rah!

I wanna buy the whole store, I am so dangerous, but I feel like their prices get even more outrageous each year. I was in their yesterday (i had wet nails from the salon so i didnt wanna go in my wallet thank god lol) and I saw the cutest outfit: Maroon Sweat pants with rhinestons and the matching sweat jacket with rhinestones. price for both? $130  ...for sweats ladies and gents.

Looks like I will be hititng up NY & co this weekend, they had the whole outfit for $60

I guess I'm just not the shopper. I never heard of this company. :o Most of my clothes come off of Macy's clearance rack. Take an extra 50% off the lowest ticketed price. That's me, and I can find some very cute stuff.

I like Macy's too!! I too love to hunt on the sale rack, I once got a $280 Jones NY suit jacket for $120 and I found my roomie a $200 Ann Taylor dress for $70 lol I get so proud of my bargins.

My obession with bebe is the fact that they use rhinestones so much. I <3 rhinestones. And they carry a lot of sweats, I <3 sweats lol.

Meh... not really my style.

I'm kinda freak for the Victoria Secret clothing line... SALES, ladies. I buy everything on clearance. ;) Don't care for their underwear, because it doesn't LAST and my dogs seem to enjoy eating the bras. And the lingere line isn't even remotely rique enough ~ LOL. BUT, their clothing line is AWESOME ~ when you avert your eyes from the ABSURD 70s style garbage.

I also like Old Navy and Target. Those two places usually have stuff I will WEAR, looks GOOD and lasts, and lasts, and lasts. Kohls, too. Mmmm.

Designer stuff? Never on this bod. What a complete and utter waste of $$. I can look classy, sexy, a fresh in a $20 outfit hodge podged from NEAT stuff I've found on sale at Old Navy, Target or Kohls and laugh at the women who are doling out $200 for their fake worn in, holey jeans. Whatever. Thrift stores have holey jeans... which got that way the natural way and cost a couple bucks. ROFLAO.

I got this gorgeous suit years back at a thrift store. OH was it lovely. Got it cleaned, did a little alteration work on it and got complimented everytime I wore it. "Oh, where did you get THAT lovely suit" blahblahblah. My answer? "Goodwill." LOL.

Bebe... meh. I would never waste my money on such extravagances which will get ruined after one wash, because they are CRAP.

Yeah... I realized after I wrote that I was rather... opinionated. Who'da thunk it? ROFLAO. I actually AM very, very opinionated when it comes to shopping. Unlike MOST women... I HATE SHOPPING.

I loath it. Deeply.

I went to Kohls about a month ago to buy a pair a jeans. JUST jeans, for crying out loud. All these stupid designer jeans with FAKE holes and smears of DIRT and people think this crap is attractive? Ewwww... I'm not spending $50 on a pair of jeans I could get out of a trash dumpster in better shape. LOL.

15 pairs of jeans later, I actually find a pair without smears of dirt, fake holes, stupid frays on the bottom that FITS. Irks me that I KNOW I am a size 9 and the designers make about 15 different size 9s!!! Some are big as tents and some are so tight I couldn't get em up past my not so big thighs.

VS size 9/10 fits perfect everytime. Never had to send a pair back. OR a shirt. Only a jumper once, which was designed for someone with a much shorter torso. I wanted the "cat suit" you know? Well, 5'9" tall with a long torso and 32" inseam... doesn't work for cat suits. :p

There's some cute things in there, but too pricey for me. I've seen similar at Ross. Not with the Bebe logo of course. ;)

I'm with you Fos... I've found some darling stuff at yard sales, and thrift shops. That includes shoes.

But I love Victoria Secrets bikini underwear! I can throw them in the washer and dryer and they don't lose shape. It's worth it to me to pay just a bit extra for it for that reason.

My friend in class who was decked out in head to toe in Bebe told me her secret that she shops at the WOodbury Commons Bebe outlet in NY. I am definately going there.

I agree that SOME designer things have low quality, but everything I have ever bought at Bebe has washed very well and looks the same as the day I bought it. I threw up on a 65$ shirt that was part of my birthday outfit and it was able to be saved lol.

I think the biggest king of low quality for the price is LV...the bags are really not that well made. Coach is less than half the price and lasts so much better.

I agree that Coach is a much better deal than LV. Personally, I don't think anyone should be buying either unless they are loaded... they are supposed to be status symbols, and how can that be when all the secretaries in my office building (who I know still live with their parents) can afford that stuff? Especially when you consider that all the accountants and lawyers (with our mortgages and stuff, haha) seem to carry less flashy stuff... it's funny, I just laugh, "Oh look, your secretary's bag is nicer than yours, hahaha!!"

I don't buy coach to have a status symbol item, I just like the bag- the colors ( i always buy like weird colors), the style, the quality. It's really not that expensive, the small ones.

But i has become that too many people have the same bag...I started buying LovCat Paris and Kathy Van Zeeland to be different from my friends. I like to be different.

I'm just a bag person lol. I could wear like hand me down shoes and scrubs lol I just need my pretty purse.

*loudly applause* *CARTWHEEL!* LOL

I don't do "bags." LOL. I have a tiny little quasi bags I got for $8 at Target which holds my keys, money, ID and credit cards and has got NO room for nuthin else and I can either sling over my head and across my chest as a mini-bag or I can adjust the strap, run it through my belt loops and make it like a fanny pack.

I would never, ever spend $100+ on a PURSE. What a WASTE! Ewww no. Shoes have much more appeal to me than purses. WTH do you need to carry a purse for anyway? Oh yeah, all that other crap people think they need to drag around with them. *deep sigh* Gimme my chapstick, keys, ID and cash and I'm good to go. A hair tie fits nice in there, too. WTH could I possibly need? Don't wear make-up, so I don't need to pack the entire cosmetic's counter in there... purposely go for spazzy, low maintenance hair dos, so I don't need brushes or hairspray or any of that either. EGADS people.

Now, with all that said, my Mom was given as a "gift" a very nice brown leather Coach backpack bag some 15 years ago or so... she used it for about 6-7 years and it was MINT, but she couldn't stand diggin' around in it to FIND anything (being the backpack type, that's just how the dang thing is...) so she GAVE it to me. Hell if I would have EVER spent a CENT on the thing, but as a freebee?? NICE. But, it's retired to my closet only pulled out once or twice a year when I actually DO need to carry something weird (like sunscreen and a soda or something LOL), because the gravitational pull of a woman's purse draws everything in the near vacinity STRAIGHT inside it!!!

I refuse to be a part of contributing to that gravitational phenomenon. It's also why I like cargo pants. Hell if I've ever been able to find ANYTHING in a purse, but put the stuff in my pockets ~ I know exactly where it is.

Now shoes... that's another story.

PinkCat... you know why those secretaries can afford designer bags? BECAUSE they live with the parents! LOL. And they will stay there so long as they haven't figured out that the REASON they can't afford a house is because they are wasting their money on over-rated and WAY over priced designer clothes and bags. :p MY kids will never have that luxury ~ because the hell if I will let them use me as a handout. I don't give handouts. ONLY hand UPS.

Well, I do both.

I don't pay 200 dollars for a pair of jeans with holes and dirt on them, but I will pay 60 to 80 for a good quality pair I know will last a while.

My kids are not allowed to wear jeans with holes in them to school, so thats not an issue. But I do buy most of their clothes at name brand stores like Abercrombie or Hollisters, The Gap or whatever. I consider these kind of middle-range stores...the prices are not too ridiculous.

However, similar to garage sales or going to Goodwill, I use Ebay, and I find a lot of good quality name brand stuff on Ebay, especially for my daughter, in big lots. I can find her three or four pairs of name brand jeans on there for 20 or 30 bucks sometimes.

Lord, another shopping hater here *raises hand*. I usually order my clothes from Chadwicks online, except for jeans which I HAVE to try on, so I put off buying any until the ones I have are either completely worn out or I can't fit in them anymore. I have ocasionally considered the benefits of a "clothing optional" lifestyle, lol.

I don't think there is anything wrong with indulging myself if I can afford it. I don't buy what I can't afford. I am young and don't have any children, it's all about me.

Everyone has their thing some people collect videos or statues, I like bags. It's not harming anyone. I usually only make expensive purchases with birthday or christmas money. It's my time to shine so I get what I want.

Me too Phos! I thought I was the only woman on the planet who hated shopping! I order what I need online and avoid the mall like the plague!

You are NOT the only one!! LOL, I hate shopping too. Only go a couple times a year when I absolutely have to, but I always find myself trying to put it off. Can't stand the crowds. Right now my daughter wants to go shopping for school clothes and I've put it off twice, using work for an excuse.

Now, on the other hand, I adore garage saling. :p I'll travel all over for those.

give me a wife beater, some jeans, a pair of scissors, and some wooden beads and I'm GOOD in the game...

Amina... me too! I've taken plain ordinary sweatshirts and cut off the collar and the hem, rounding it off, then cut the sleeves at an angle, kind of like cape sleeves, then zigzagged all around the edges. I've laced leather thongs through little holes and strung beads and got my own look. I've had gals ask me where I bought my shirts, lol. Sometimes those are the best styles, your own!

Lynn

Right Lynn??? LOL...must be all that leather hole punching we do with our saddles and bridles..lol...

Could be. I buckstitched one of my saddles before for a 4-H project and won first place! Hehe, my horses are often better dressed than me. My first quilt was a saddle blanket. Fell all apart in the washer though. Heck, I was only 11 or 12 though.

But yeah, the leather punch stays handy in my house!
