Lost My Meepie

:(

With all the stories of human loss on here today, I almost hate to post this, but I lost my Meepie cat yesterday to a car, and I miss her terribly.

Here's her picture: http://putfile.com/pic.php?pic=10/28120001699.jpg&s=x10

(I hope that shows up).

Meepie was a semi-feral, with a tough past, who remained a fearful cat for the rest of her life, although with us she was her warm, loving and gentle self. Giving her two and a half years of much-deserved happiness was one of the most rewarding things I have ever done.

R.I.P. Meepie - (2/2/5/2001 to 10/08/2005)

Awww DS, I'm so sorry about your loss. I saw her photo. She was a beautiful kitty. Looks just like my cat Jubilee. Cats come and go from our lives. They bring us so much joy. And when they leave, it is definitely like losing a family member.

My heart goes out to you. :(

I am very sorry. An you go ahead and cry if you feel like crying. Some people will say bah... it was just an animal. But we love our pets so much they are like family.

*hugs* I'm sorry your cat was killed. Our little furry friends don't seem to have much luck sometimes outdoors :(

Thanks, guys. It's really hard to admit how broken up I am.

The whole thing is mystifying. Meepie was inside or in the enclosed yard about 99% of the time, and I would have bet my house that the one who would get hit by a car would be the other one.

Apparently she found herself on the other side of our one way residential street and (although I had never seen her north of the mailbox), panicked and tried to run back across the street to home.

She was facing towards us when she was hit - I don't think she ever saw it coming. But she did die instantly - no pain - which I am glad about.

I have really been missing her terribly. :(

Oh DS, losing your fuzzy kids is really hard.

I still dream about my first dog, he's been dead since I was 18.

She was a gorgeous girl.

Awww, just read about your cat and I am so sorry for you ....

I can imagine how it hurts and it's such a weird feeling when they are gone and you still kinda expect them to come back, do their usual stuff - and yet we know they won't be back :(

I lost one of my cats to a car in July, so I can really sympathize :(

She was really beautiful ...

/big hug

BIG (((((hugs))))))) spring.
She was beautiful! Really georgious :)
Give yourself time to heal.
Can I say something. When my Rocky (my dog) passed away on may 3rd (he was sick and old) I rarely cried like that in my life.
Than 2 days later I went to the pet store. Just to lurk. I had NO intention of getting another animal. I tought it hurts too much when you lose one.
Anyhow, there was many cats in a huge cage at the front of the pet store.
Than I noticed Sam :)
Well, I found all the cats absolutely georgious. But its Sam that really got my attention. Than I asked one of the girl working there if I could takehim in my arms. Remember, I was very sad over Rocky's lost.
When I took Sam in my arms, some of my sadness instantly went away. Strange eh? Than he looked at me...I was hooked lol
He's been with us for 5 months now :D
And I love my Sam. We call him so many names that someone told me the other day he might get split personalities lol
Anyhow, my point is. Take the time to grieve and sometimes something that makes you smile again comes along the way that you didnt expect.
((((hugs)))) again girl

Dear Desert Spring,

It is so painful to lose a loving pet friend. I live in the city, so my cats did not normally go out, but they still grow old or sick. It has been a life changing situation when my loved pets passed away.

Sometimes they leave when they know their master is okay. And sometimes is seems they die when a mistake happens.

But animals do not fear death. Actually if they are sick they want to quit eatting.

You can not replace the love lost. You should know Meepie is playing with other kitties whereever he/she is.

Very sorry for you.

Donna

Not trying to say Meepie can be replace. You dont REPLACE an animal, a companion. But you can find another one that can give you a sense of peacefulness. Thats what happened with Sam.
But thats my experience.

I am so sorry, Desert Spring. I'm sure you cherish all the memories of the joy and laughter she brought into your life and I hope that soon you will honor her memory by bringing another cat into your home to love.

Losing them is so hard, but I sincerely believe the pain of losing them is worth all the happiness they bring to us.

Big hug and I'm sending my thoughts of a giant angel to engulf you in his wings, comfort you, and lift the heartache for a while. (A secular angel, of course! ;) )

AWWWW Desert...........I am so sorry.
I know how you feel, I really do. If it were my big, fat, 8 year old, cat (Toulouse) I would be devastated. I have 1 dog, 2 cats, 1 igauna, and 1 old horse, and I love all of them with all my heart, but Toulouse is like a part of my soul.
Don't feel bad about posting.............our pets are just as much a part of our family as any one else!
Blessings, Tinydancer
