I thought this would make a funny thread.
I was flipping through the pages of the manual I got with my stereo, when I got to the trouble-shooting page, and I thought this was hilarious:
Problem Power cord is not connected.
Solution Connect power cord to the wall outlet.
I love these silly warnings! I was reading the warning on a bottle of anti-bacterial kitchen cleaner the other day, which informed the user not to use the product to clean their contact lenses with! LOL

I've got some face/bikini wax stuff that says not to use on sensitive skin. Well, isn't a woman's face and bikini area considered sensitive?
Seriously, I've seen the most stupid warnings. Or maybe not...my ex's mother completely ignored the "do not submerge in water" warning on a Fisher Price electronic play phone and washed it with her dishes in the sink  and then handed it to me saying, "I don't know why it stopped working...I guess it just wore out."
grrrr...

On a car sun shield (covers the windshield of your parked car to keep it cooler in warm weather): "WARNING! Do Not Drive With Sun Shield In Place. Remove Sun Shield Before Starting Engine."
Well, duh. . .when you're driving it helps to be able to see out of the windshield.

These warnings are so funny; I was talking to my Wife about this earlier, and she was telling me she'd seen this lawn mower for sale, that had a warning sticker which read, it was not to be used for cutting bushes and shrubs. LOL I have this hilarious vision, of somebody holding the lawn mower vertically up in the air, trying to trim their hedges with it!

One that bugs me is the "Advantage" flea drops for cats/dogs. You put drops along the animals back (on the skin - not on the hair) and it says, "Do not allow contact with skin" Makes ya wonder what it's doing to the animal's skin!

can't think of any warnings....but directions that are stupid, yeah.
for instance, there's directions on cans of shaving creme. ummm why?
if you're buying shaving creme, you kinda know what you're buying it for.

At the McDonald's drive thru window you see signs "Warning Coffee is VERY VERY Hot" I know they were sued several years ago for millions because of hot coffee. Gosh, we are stupid humans sometimes. I could hear it now, well judge I didn't know the coffee was going to hot.
If you ever want a good laugh read the instruction on the inside of a condom box. It's a hoot :p

My microwave came with the warning that it was not suitable for drying pets

GTSnapper, I know what you mean about the directions. I have no clue why they have to be so specific, but I guess some people may not have enough common sense to check to make sure something is plugged in and need to be told to do it?
About the warnings -- well, they are there because some people are LAWSUIT HAPPY and the manufacturer's legal rep probably insisted they include all those crazy warnings after someone sued their company for trying to do something stupid with the product.
