Niall 10-26-2005, 11:02 AM I saw a post down below announcing the release of a YW/OM movie being released soon. I thought I should also remind people that there's also going to be OW/YM movie: Prime (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0387514/) opens at the box office in just two days. Uma Thurman plays the OW, Bryan Greenberg the YM. It's billed as a romantic comedy. There are some preliminary reviews on the Internet Movie Database from people who saw advanced screenings, and so far the reviews are good!
No doubt about it. Between Ashton and Demi, and movies like this, you know the tide is defintely turning for the OW/YM couple. :)
Kristin 10-26-2005, 11:08 AM It looks great and funny!
The trailer shows Uma confessing and bragging about her YM to her therapist - who turns out to be the YM's mother!
tinydancer 10-26-2005, 11:12 AM As most of you guys know, my husband and I were on the Oprah show the day Uma was on to promote this movie.
On a side note, Uma was so very nice to us.........I really liked her alot. Would have loved to have had the chance to chat with her longer.
We had to watch the rough cut the night before we were on the show.
It was an OK movie...........more about a blink in her character's life than a long term relationship.
I loved the interaction between Uma and Meryl but didn't really see much onscreen chemistry between her and her y/m.
All in all, it was pretty positive about ow/ym though.
Just my humble opinions though.

NotCrazy? 10-26-2005, 11:21 AM I kept seeing an ad for an episode of Oprah After the Show - it showed a woman who was 45 and her husband was 25. The audience kind of did an "oooo" thing and Oprah said "Did I ask you all what you thought?" to the audience. I have not yet been able to catch this yet. Is this when you were on?
tinydancer 10-26-2005, 11:29 AM Yes, Notcrazy..........that was my husband and I lol.
The woman who did most of the ohhing and ahhing was kinda an idiot and, when Oprah questioned her, she really came off seeming pretty ignorant.
All in all, it was pretty positive and many people in the audience came up to us during the break to say "Right On" :D

NotCrazy? 10-26-2005, 11:44 AM Kudos!! I sometimes wonder what possesses some audience members on talk shows to stand up and spout off. Do they not hear themselves? Do they not know that they are embarrassing themselves, their families, their neighborhood, their hometown, etc. etc. etc.
As my Mom always used to say (I never quote my Mom - don't think she has that much to offer - j/k) "If you can't say something nice, then don't say anything at all".
tinydancer 10-26-2005, 11:48 AM Well, she wasn't mean, just had kind of a warped sense of what's important.
Oh, what the heck......she was alright, just kind of shallow.
Oprah and Uma stood up for us
Live and let live.

NotCrazy? 10-26-2005, 12:01 PM So, it wasn't something along the lines of Jerry Springer huh? LOL
Good for Oprah and Uma. With movies like this, and all the talk about Demi and Ashton, maybe my family won't flip out if/when they discover the depth of my relationship with my YM - they know we are very close, but have no idea that it has gone beyond buddies.

Cool tinydancer! :D
Wish I could see the show. hummm...wonder if on the oprah site I could get a glimpse of that show
High five girl!
tinydancer 10-26-2005, 12:14 PM Maybe they will be more supportive.
I have found that most things we do, if we are positive and sure in our choices, are above others opinions. No-one said anything but "congrat's" to us.........they wouldn't dare lol.
Family should stand by you even if they do not agree with your choices. As long as your capable of taking care of yourself and do no harm.
You know, "smile and the whole world smiles with you"..........blah, blah blah.
Or at least, you'll be too happy to notice ;)

tinydancer 10-26-2005, 12:20 PM Thank you Faith.........it was pretty cool.
We stayed at the Omni hotel and had the most amazing views and ROOM SERVICE that I can't even discribe it but we ate alot of it lol..
Everything happened so fast that week that I really didn't have a chance to enjoy it.........The day after we got back from Chicago, I had to make arrangments to fly to Las Vegas to be with my dad before he passed.
When it rains it pours.

Thank you!! Each time I read posts at this site I feel better and better. Each time my YM does something, anything, that makes me smile so big that it feels like my face is going to rip - I am reassured that however unconventional, this feels right.
tinydancer 10-27-2005, 09:48 AM YW, hope everything continues to go well for you.
Yes, this site has helped me alot over the years.
I had to take a break for awhile though, my husband was getting upset b/c I was starting to transfer other peoples problems in their relationships onto ours
I have learned not to do that or read the posts that are too heartbreaking for me to get involved with and try and learn what I can from the positive ones.

Yup, I know what you mean - I have read some about how such an age difference (21 years) is insurmountable, etc. etc. but how can being this happy not be a positive thing!! :)
Charlotte 10-27-2005, 03:59 PM Well, she wasn't mean, just had kind of a warped sense of what's important.
You just described nearly every individual I have ever met in my entire life.
tinydancer 10-27-2005, 05:10 PM Yes Charlotte,
Ain't that the truth.
I think everyone is a little bit warped in one area or the other......if not, they would probably be too boring to want to know ;)
But, in her case, she was kinda both boring and had a warped sense of values at the same time.
