Many couples on this board have age gaps over 10 years. I was wondering when you met your YW's parents, how did you feel? Expecially if you are the same age as her parents.

My OM is actually older than both my mom and dad...

My dad refused to meet him...but he did have lunch with my mom and sister and me.

Alec told me that he was totally nervous because of events that had happened before this meeting (basically my dad called and screamed at him)

My mom was pretty good except for at the end of the lunch when she decided to lecture us and tell Alec that this was not how I was raised and a bunch of other stuff.

So I totally understand why he was nervous and apprehensive about meeting my mom. Blah.

theres not many OM here so youll probably here more from the YW here. my guy hasnt met my family yet.. i know 4 years later you would think a meeting wouldve happened by now lol. it doesnt mean i dont care about him or im ashamed to introduce him to my folks.

but it sure as heck means i am a bit scared of my parents lol- theyve always been very critical of me and just about everyone i bring around them so i kept our relationship private for quite sometime now. we started dating about 6 months ago and it is a LDR, but he will be coming down to visit and of course meet my parents as well as my brother and sister.

my sister knows hes older.. about 8 yrs older than her actually. and 9 yrs older than my brother. they make jokes about it but theyve been supportive so far, it will be interesting to see what their reactions will be once he visits.. hopefully no drama will come from this. i just want everyone to get along lol.. the last guy i dated was 28 i remember telling my mom how old my ex was and she freaked out over that, no telling what she will say about my current OM whose 38- will be 39 in three weeks.
