ChiNotShy 11-24-2005, 01:27 PM Deeply flawed, artistically corrupt and ultimately disappointing, "Fight Club," starring Brad Pitt and Edward Norton, nevertheless is, in my opinion, the best American movie of the past ten years. As far as I know, no other contemporary American film matches its new/old vision.

Lots of Kubrick films, but Dr. Strangelove or How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love the Bomb! That's probably my favorite movie ever made.
And how does Casablanca not get named? The most romantic non-chick flick and probably the best movie ever made.

lencarol 02-10-2006, 07:06 AM I saw a wonderful but sad movie a few weeks ago. Not sure if it was made for TV or a type of docudrama, called Yesterday. About a South African family. The young woman was named Yesterday by her father. Her husband worked in the mines in Johannesburg. They had a little girl. Both parents found they had HIV/AIDs. It was very beautifully done, very sad. Would like to get it in DVD. Has anyone else seen this?
