puppy stains

Anyone have any tips about removing stains from carpet and odor? My puppy has had accidents while we are trying to train. We have tried with water right after the accident to get it. But after it has dried I can still see a stain. And also there is an odor. :( Our carpets are a light creamy beige color. Any suggestions??

Two products...Nature's Miracle is kinda like the industry standard...
The other is Woolite's Pet Stain cleaner. Both claim to keep the dog from going again in the same place, and if I remember correctly, both did a good job cleaning. Its been a while since my dog was a puppy. The Woolite stuff had like a perfumey smell, but after a while it went away.
