Anybody else waiting to see the newest version of "Pride & Preduduce"?
My all time favorite romantic book. It will be hard to top the 13 episode version on PBS about 10 years ago.....so good.
Even dragging the husband to this one and I never do that! He can try dammit, it's only a few hours right? I am really hoping that he might actually like it if I get him through the door lol.
Any other fans?

I don't think you can call yourself a true romantic and not love everything by Jane Austen. I can't wait to see the new movie! :)

I agree Ms M. Jane Austin had a way of writing for sure.
My husband is a tad predudice about very, very, wealthy people.......hopefully he will see that it does work both ways when he goes to see this movie with me.
Doesn't open 'til Wed. here though :( and we are going to NYC for the weekend so ..........it will have to wait until next weekend now.

I want to see it!!
I think I've seen every other version - not to mention every version of Sense & Sensibility & Emma (Clueless was cute.)
Jeremy watched S & S with me - I can't remember if it was the British version or the one with Emma Thompson & Hugh Grant.
I even read Jane's books as ebooks on my Palm phone!

Right on.........I knew you were a smart lady ;)
I'm not sure that any version can beat the PBS episodes though but, I go with an open mind.....this new movie has a great cast.
Have you ever heard of Sandy Lerner.........she owns Austin's english manor. She is quite the dynamo. Interesting that a amercan ball buster like her would want such a romantic place but I have heard she has completely restored the home and, although she is not much of a "people person", she LOVES animals.
A woman after my own heart.

No, I never heard of her. I would love to see her house though! That is one of my favorite parts of these movies - the mansions & decor!

You can see the house and read about Sandy in Nov's 2005 More magazine
Yes, I want to see it bad! I'm just annoyed that my OM and I aren't going to be together for another three months. I would love for him to come with me and hold my hand. :)

I hadn't heard about this movie but I love Jane Austen's writing. Yippee! I wonder when/if it is coming out here.

Thanks Tiny...you're right I just saw it in the newspaper. And I'm in the same boat - OM's xmas party this Sat. Things are so hectic that I may end up renting it when it comes out. At least that way, I can watch it and he can fall asleep!
