I always give Mr. Cat fresh dry cat food before I give him fresh canned food. He attacks the dry food first, but when he sees the canned food coming, he spits the dry food out! It always cracks me up!!!!

Totally different but it reminded me:

One of my kitties (the one that looks like yours!) regularly scoops the food from her bowl onto the floor, and eats it from there. I never seem to be watching, though, so I don't know if she scoops it out with her paw or takes a mouthful and dumps it on the floor. I only look when I hear the cat food hit the floor.

I've given up trying to keep their eating area totally neat.

My other kitty regularly paws at the linoleum when she's done eating, like she's trying to cover their eating area..? Same kitty spends way too much time covering her 'stuff' in the kittybox. Neurotic.

I always put both kind of food in Sam's bowl. More dry food but of course he always go with the moist first lol
On another note. I got the Christmas tree up this last week-end.
I think Sam found a new home!!!!
I got to get a pic of him IN the tree. All you see is his two huge eyes looking through the tree. Sooooooo cute and annoying! LOL

Mr. Cat enjoys the smell of just-washed sheets, but like Oprah, only for two days. Today, he followed me from the laundry room to the bedroom and jumped into the sheets that I had thrown on the bed before I even had a chance to make the bed!!!!!! Crazy cat.

There's a bonus for me too: he smells like clean sheets when he comes out to get some loving! :D

I get a bite on the leg if I don't feed my cat her wet food on time in the morning, she is a little *****. But I love her! And spent months looking for her, drove hundreds of miles to get her, spent lots of money to buy her, now she is spoiled rotten. Good thing I don't have any real kids!

Yep, she is what I have chosen, at least I got to CHOOSE! My little bundle of joy. :) But if she bites me one more time, it will be time for a little swat.... :p

I use a mat like this under my cat's dishes. It helps keep the floor clean and is easy to wash.

A few years ago, my neighbors adopted a feral kitten and named her Crackers. She was itsy-bitsy (still is-- only about 5 lbs). She used to come over to visit me, but had a bad habit of jumping my ankle and glomming on to it with teeth and claws. After about the third time, I got mad and gave her a really strong talking-to and sent her home. I told her I wasn't going to let her visit again until she corrected her ways. I didn't let her back in for a month. Every time she wanted to come in, I reminded her that I was still mad at her and why. Well, after a month, I told her she could come back in if she behaved herself. She was a perfect lady from then on. VERY smart cat.

But, then, when my roommates moved in with their cat, Joey, (now mine, roomies are gone), Crackers was outraged. She is a real princess and had always come over for her afternoon nap before going home for dinner. Well, the first day she came in and smelled Joey, she looked at me horrified and then ran out and never came back. She was furious that I had betrayed her and wouldn't even acknowledge me for a couple of years. If I saw her outside and called her, she would not even look at me and would walk regally away. Finally, she forgave me, for the most part, and comes when I call her and allows me to pet her again. But, she won't come in the house.

Aw, great stories, guys!!!!

I love cats. They are such characters!!!

I recently got a new cat food for my kitty... it's this really large-kibbled tartar-control stuff... and she LOVES it. I'm supposed to mix in about 20% of the new stuff with 80% old stuff....

She takes a big mouthful of the 80-20 mixture, walks over to the carpet (anyone else know a cat who only likes to eat on carpet??), spits it all out, and then goes through it and only eats the new kibble.

It's funny and cute. What a nut!!!!

My sister is also trying to "tame" a little female feral cat. She is very skittish, can't get her to come in the house. She feeds her on the porch. Now ALL the other neighborhood cats coming around to butt in to get food, so she can't coax this little one to come near anymore. But she has her broom ready for the rowdy ones.... :p
